Truthfully, Rich Hill scares me to death. That loopy curve ball he has only seems to be good for three of four innings and then he gets hit hard. His fastball is average at best. He does have good stuff but he hasn't been able to show it on a consistent basis. He needs to bring it all together.

I'm glad no one gives Rich Hill any credit. He was arguably the best pitcher on the team last year, and better than Zambrano in every single category.
And don't even START to mention Wins as a backing factor to who's better. Rich Hill was better than Zambrano in every way, and won 11 while Z won 18. Wins are random. Use ERA, K's, Walks issued, and WHIP. Those are stats a pitcher can control. Wins are up to the offense.

I like Rich Hill a lot. Nothing like a good lefty in the rotation. I think a touch more consistentcy and he is the best southpaw this side of New York. His curveball is absolutely vicious, and if he throws it and his fastball well, then he is in for 15- 20 wins with <2.50 ERA. I'm looking forward to him this year. Go Cubbies!

5 out of the 6 months Theriot played he hit below 270. He was very poor in 5/6th of the time he played. He was very good in July, and awful in every other month. He didn't just "fade down the stretch" and didn't "hit .300 most of the year.
A .330 OBP is NOT good. An average OBP is about .350. A GOOD OBP is .375-.400. He is FAR from good, and below average.
I've used stats and facts, you are using what you incorrectly remember.

Theriot hits for a poor average, can't work a count, rarely gets on base, hits absolutely no power (Very few doubles triples AND homers) and hits terribly in the clutch. He does NOT play solid defense, he plays just below average defense.
He's a negative offensively and defensively, and people like him?! That makes a lot of sense...

I am a Cubs fan, and I am making fun of the idiot Cubs fans who like Theriot.
Not one of them uses facts to back him up, they say "I think he's very solid" with no evidence to help their case. Every single part of Theriot's game is below average (Except base-running, Woo-Hoo!). The guy is almost 30, and has never been good in minors, and in his time at the pros, has been awful offensively and sub-par defensively.
He has not been Solid or OK, he has been very bad. Prove me wrong (You can't).

Also, The Cardinals ex-shortstop, David Eckstein, is a better version of Theriot (Which is kind of embarrassing, to be a WORSE version of an average player).
Eckstein Hit for a HIGH average (Unlike Theriot) He got on base VERY often (Unlike Theriot), and has always hit very good in the clutch (Unlike Theriot).
You have to remember, the Cubs have one of the worst 3 shortstops in baseball. There are about 25 shortstops easily better, and I could argue for more.
