@MutantKush What has Paul created or lead? Most of what he does is reject and vote against except when it comes to social issues. Newt has been in politics for the same amount of time but he was actually leading and coming up with and instituting solutions.

@WONDOCTORJ Well he definitely has some old ideas (that worked pretty good in the mid nineties), but much of his plan is pretty avant garde and creative. I know all you RP fans think he is the next Jesus who will cleanse the temple, but be careful to not get carried away. You sound like Obamaphiles accept the opposite extreme.

The problem is that I think he goes too far. Yes the Fed needs to be audited and restructured. No it does not need to be torn down. Yes we need restructuring of our banking/monetary system. No we don't need to go back to gold currency. I don't believe in a non-interventionalist position but do not believe in never intervening.

@JudahFlix all the things that Newt has said about the federal reserve it is amazing that they would be running an online campaign against him. they should be running a campaign against Obama. sure there are a bunch of things that the candidates disagree on but surely they would be better than Obama. I am a Libertarian and not a conservative. I believe in limited government and agree with Milton friedman about the abolishment of departments, but I would never attack a republican to help Obama

A lot of them are extremists and can't stand the thought of finding some middle ground. The see any other candidate as just a band aid that will only keep us limping when they see the right remedy as amputation. They might be right.

@JudahFlix One of my favorite things that I ever saw Milton Friedman say was when he was asked if he was dictator for a day and he quickly replied that he didnt want to impose his ideas on people undemocratically. that proved that he believed in the strength of the ideas he had. 10 years ago I may have been a 'tear it down and rebulid from scratch' guy myself! as ive matured i become more pragmatic. If we are headed in the right direction we will get to the destination in the end.

@JudahFlix - I hear ya. I like both, but Marco's not running :-( I like Herman because he isn't a career politician. I think he knows that he could be the next Ronald Reagan. Newt would be the perfect running mate because they seem to get along so well together and they each have different talents that compliment each other. Newt is brilliant and Herman is a doer.

That seems to be Perry's problem, to heavily consultant driven (that doesnt suprise me though the consultants that are working for him left the gingrich campaign after they realised they couldnt 'run' gingrich, he runs himself) I like perry though I think he has done great in Texas and I like Ron Paul, but Gingrich is the guy to pit against Obama

I guess my problem is that my family have always been big RP fans and at this point last time everybody was saying the exact same thing about Paul and he ended up only winning like a handful of delegates total. I agree he is the Father of the Tea Party, however they constitute a small minority in the electorate. He scares people. He scares me. Not saying that is a bad thing. The thing you have to accept is that you are comfortable with RP's extreme philosophical direction, others like me are not. When I say I am exited but scared, I fear what he will do. @JUANO510 Here is the thing Juan, he is "following" the constitution as he sees it. The constitution is not the Bible. Paul is extreme in that he wants to take down lots of institutions and programs that our political system relies on. He believes that they are hurting our country and he may be right, but it is an intricate mess that can't just be pulled down. I understand that it probably needs a cleansing. Its just that Paul wants to do surgery before we try antibiotics.
