Japan was warned after the 2004 tsunami by the IAEA about several of their plants, they told us to go to hell. Japs have easterly winds and the pacific, Chernobyl did not. They'll need to build more plants since they don't produce as much energy, which means more construction jobs & more jobs to maintain all the plants. Because it's not how 'cold' the coolant is, it's how dense it is, and how fast you get it in there. Liquefied gas would be very hard to inject, and would immediately turn to gas causing a much higher pressure in the vessel and requiring much more venting. Water is the best, and what they planned for.

Because it's not how 'cold' the coolant is, it's how dense it is, and how fast you get it in there. Liquefied gas would be very hard to inject, and would immediately turn to gas causing a much higher pressure in the vessel and requiring much more venting. Water is the best, and what they planned for.

@rongdisk23 ehh yeah i learned it a few days later it wasnt cuz of earthquake well yea it affected it but tsunami ruined the electonics and it blew up some reactors(by side effects of one reactor)

The earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan was a tragedy. The nuclear incident is plain human stupidity. It is THE OPPOSITE of "chernobyl lesson"

What also strikes me is the openess of information about all steps taken. At the end of the day in recent days you cannot hide anything of such a scale, if americans are involved in the process they will share information to the world - but imagine that simmilar thing happened in Iran, we would be only guessing what's happening in there, everything would be under strict top secret undercover. Think about 2012 this may really happen, as you know WE WILL BE CROSSING GALACTIC EQUATOR!!!

THE WORST part is that if even one reactor melts down and explodes then we will have another Chernobyl but there are 4 reactors like this and they are all seriously overheating as we speak...
