  • Hey, I use that server!

  • @hex37 No Heroes is my absolute favorite set of TF2 servers. I'm a VIP member and don't regret it for one second. Their servers are always filled, almost always deliver an awesome game, and the performance is unsurpassed by any other server I've found.

So, yeah, stick to No Heroes and if you play often consider becoming a VIP. It's super cheat (like, $3 a month or something, haha) and totally worth it.

  • What button are you using for ratcheting? (for 360 turning)

  • @ElegyForTheMasses By default it's 'Button 2' on the right controller. This isn't really used much anymore, however, since TF2 now supports Direct Integration and does not require ratcheting. You *can* still play that way if you wish, but usually people prefer DI.

    Happy Hydra'ing! :)

  • @starwarsvideos How's the DI work? Is it setup so that when you aim more away from the center, it starts turning?

  • @ElegyForTheMasses Exactly. As your cursor approaches the sides of your screen (up, down, left, right) your view will slowly and smoothly begin to turn. The further towards the side of your screen your cursor goes, the faster you turn. It's really nice.

  • @starwarsvideos Thanks for the replies. I'm trying to figure out a little about this so I can decide between the hydra and the novint falcon. The falcon seems cool because of the force feedback and tangible weight of object in-game, but seems limited to fps and racing games mainly, where as this unit seems more widely tailored for various game genres.

  • @ElegyForTheMasses No problem. The Hydra has very little DI support in games, but the controller itself can work in hundreds (Indirect Integration) with 0 help from the developer -- meaning games, old and new, can be used with it, whether it recognizes it as 'The Hydra' or just some controller. I'm familiar with the Falcon, but unsure of how much support it has. I also don't know if it can be used for games which don't specifically support it; but that's doubtful.

  • I think motion tracking needs to step it up a few notches. I mean a feedback system like the ones from joysticks (and I dont MEAN the shitty DILDO vibrations). Maybe I dont know electro magnetic force fields that simulate the weight and kickback of a weapon? WHO IS WITH ME ?!

  • @USEYAHOO A force feedback system would be really nice, but in the scenario with this particular deivce (the Hydra), I think it would be a hindrance to your accuracy. Still, it would be cool to get some kind of feedback when shooting a shotgun, or getting shot, etc...

I'm sure the future of motion gaming will hold many, many innovations.

  • @starwarsvideos There is one that simulates kickback and motion sensing but only for Valve Games xD unless the driver is made fully customizable for other games... I saw it here on youtube but I forgot the name xD It has 3 arms holding a rifle grip shaped controller and pushes or retracts these arms to simulate on screen actions like reloading or blasts from explosions pretty neat xD.

  • @USEYAHOO That is the Novint Falcon! I recognized it as soon as you described it. Yeah, that controller looked really interesting, with an extremely unique design. It could even simulate textures on certain surfaces (i.e. rough vs smooth vs circular vs square etc...).

  • that doesn't look relaxing, cos of the motion ya cant really chill like a normal pad. looks something for those that like to play games to get stressed out lol.

  • @zigzagtoes It is not designed to be a more relaxing peripheral for gaming. It is designed to provide a more intuitive, immersive experience through interpreting movement into commands in a video game.

Last time I checked, people don't shoot others in a video game for relaxation, but rather for thrill and exhilaration. Games aren't necessarily made to be relaxing, although some are, but most are designed to invoke a particular emotion, usually thrill.

  • I liked the part where you tried to destroy a sentry with cowmangler.

And I also liked the parts where you used shitty weapons.

  • @elmarionetista amen brotha xD made me laugh!

  • I wonder what happened to this server :(

  • @Daxter609 It should still be up, but may have changed I.P. addresses.

  • do you need to download anything for that like the n52te or is it just straight forward

  • @speedstacker136 It's just straight forward, you plug it in, install the driver (which should be done automatically) and play. You can also download the beta from Sixense's forum, which will enable Direct Integration with this game now.

  • @starwarsvideos can you do a toturial on that?

  • @speedstacker136 It's very simple. I will send you a message with further details.

  • I like how you're demonstrating this with the Heavy.

  • They're getting direct integration for TF2 soon

  • @Daxter609 Sweet, I haven't heard that. I believe one day all Source games will come with direct integration with the Hydra.

  • @starwarsvideos sixense has a video demonstrating it :)

  • @starwarsvideos TF2 Beta hydra integration is out. If you have TF2 beta, start it up and type sixense_enable 1 to enable it.

  • @anatanokukki Very cool, thanks for the heads up.

  • @starwarsvideos it's officially out! you should try it, it looks amazing.

  • @TheGreatGats Wow, yeah, it's great. Frankly I was getting used to the indirect integration of it, so it'll take a little while before I'm as intuitive with the new direct integration of it.

I'll probably post a video eventually.

    Username: Pro

    Weapon: Force-a-Nature

    Sigh...

  • @4smoD3us Good. It's very responsive, there is zero lag, and you can adjust the sensitivity to make the movements as subtle or extreme as you want. You can also adjust filtering, which smooths out your movements, but can also deter your reaction time, so you have to fiddle with it and find a balance.

  • Tbh, your controlling looks hard and uncomfortable, even im better in aiming and i started 4 months ago.. so i prefer mouse.

  • @Raubnced Well this video was made the first week I had the Hydra. It's really not uncomfortable at all, it in fact feels very natural.

You're under a false pretense: This device wasn't made to replace the mouse. It was designed as an additional peripheral to use now and then to bring a new dimension to gaming that you can't have with a mouse, motion.

I love it, it's really fun to play with. Try it before you knock it.

  • That looks uncomfortable.

  • @AFilthyIbis you but your on on your arm rest on your chair

  • take scout and jump jump jump shoot shoot kill jump jump shoot kill

  • 1:33

    MASTURBATION

  • @leangreenbean333 Yeah, I did notice that. >_<

I figured since it's an M-Rated game and such, I'd just leave it go rather than blur it out. Dirty names are pretty easy to come by in pretty much any multiplayer game.
