Great sound, remember to push your valves down with the tips of your fingers, not your whole finger. This makes it easier to connect your notes, as well as preserve the longevity of the valve casings. Great tune.
I always think it's ironically funny when the title of the song is an instrument different from what I see being played. So I got a kick out of a non-oboe playing this, obviously.
I actually did an arrangement of this for Trombone choir in the same key as the one you just played in. Our intros are even similar..lol....Love your tone though, really pretty.
Very beautiful playing. My only comment would be more vibrato, but you're way better than me so I prolly shouldn't say anything. Was that all euphonium? Some of it sounded low enough to be tuba.
Hey, I was thinking about making a video of me making a video of your arrangement (transposed to a different key, due to the evils of braces) and I would just like to ask your permission first.
Im an Euphonium player and I have to say this was a beautiful arrangement. Great musicianship, and keep up the great work. Im planning on hearing more music from you. Good job from the U.S!!!
ok, 1, do u mind if i play your arrangement (just the solo part) For my Blue Devils Audition and a concert? and 2. for the B.C. Euph solo, u didn't transpose it. just letting u kno. thanks for the beautiful music. =)
I didn't like how you "ripped" up to the high Bb or C for treble. i wouldn't necessarily say ripped but i can't think of another way to describe it. Besides that amazing!
Well played mate. The brass band arrangement is very beautiful, and so is this. You should ask your conductor if you can perform it. Which band do you play for?
I wish I played an instrument that was capable of covering every low brass part and solo at the same time....french horn comes close I guess....but it's not capable of sounding like this. This was really good dude.
This is actually stunning mate. I used to play this in my old brass band. Sent shivers through me, good work. Lovely warm sound, you should do some more.
Dude, this is awesome. I plan on using your arrangement for a music forum I have coming up. But just to let you know, the solo B.C. part you wrote is in a different key and a whole step above what you played here. You might wanna look into that. Regardless tho, I absolutely love this. Awesome job.
Thanks very much. I'm glad you liked the arrangement. Excuse my ignorance but what is a music forum? btw thanks for pointing out the flaw in my transposing I will fix it when I get round to it.
I would say the best general advice on how to improve your playing is to get a teacher. They will be able to help you to become a better euph player. I play a Yamaha YEP642s.
I guess 2010 is the year for all us youtube euphonium multitrackers to buy better recording equipment and start making markedly better videos. Rock on jackshoey. Rock on.
Wow, great sound man. I look forward to hearing your recordings get more and more crisp! Great playing—of course, I don't know much about playing a euphonium—it sounded beautiful
@TheBig5Brass Thanks, very much. I don't know if you read the description, but I bought a Shure SM57 Mic like your one and downloaded Sony Vegas as you suggested. That is the reason for the improved audio/video quality. I would really like to do a collaborative multi track some day with a trumpet I think that would be awesome.
Wonderful playing Jack, I really enjoyed it! This night I played my euphonium too... I am back at it and I think I am finally getting somewhere! You are still my inspiration... I am proud to have you as my friend... really... take care!
@incognitoXL Thanks Cobi! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Happy to hear you are still practicing your euphonium, I'm sure you have improved heaps. always good to hear from my friend in the netherlands. regards,

The euphonium is so under-appreciated,
But it's acctually such a beautiful instrument.
I wish it were a more known instrument.

@jonman1922 actually, the euphonium can reach very deep octaves, in my orchestra, i'm known to outreach the tuba on occasion
