  • if we can just turn back tym i wud love to xperience dis worth living...now i can say that i reli appreciate wat marcos have done during this period....

  • manila to the world, born legacy...!!! sana sa panahon na ito ang shootng.

  • those were the days... not anymore dahil talamak na ang buhay ng filipino sa metro manila .. kahit saan ka tumingin ay kalat at basura ... why? not bacause of politicians .. nasa tao ang problema ... metro manila is the most dense cities in the world ... siksikan sa metro manila at ang produkto ay kalat at maraming krimen... ano ang solusyon?? wala na yata .. how about after 30 years pa? what is metro manila then?

  • Technicolor is a proprietary cinema process. It was certainly not the method used to shoot these still colour scenes. Most likely they were made on Kodachrome, Ektachrome, or Agfacolor- three of the multi-layer colour films available then, and would be typically used for the type of photography shown here.

  • lupit ng mga camera gamit dito panos mga dslr ngayon and say whutt to photoshop walang wala! eto orig!

  • maayos ang pananamit nila ahh even d ako napanangak ng 60's at tama nga ibalik eto!

  • Very beautiful upload. Hope you upload more and thank you for giving us (your viewers) a glimpse of a bygone era. God bless.

  • Iba talaga nung 60's 70's and 80's malinis ang manila...Maganda...

  • Marcos did not make Philippines disciplined. He ruled with greed, used his cronies and the military to seize people's land, assets and covered up poverty. He and his wife are the biggest thief. They sold almost all of the rainforest trees to foreign loggers- so the mountains are denuded & dead They kidnapped, imprisoned and tortured people who had high morals and intellectuals who spoke against their corruption. He ruled for 20 years ans stole 10 Billion dollars from the Filipino people.

  • @WatcherCatcher But still, he was a great leader.

  • looking at the slums in Manila is worst than ever before. I am heartbroken with all the poor people and children while the rich becomes richer by day.

  • I love how people then took the time to actually dress up and look good before stepping out the door.

  • You can't say that the country was better because of Marcos. It was better because our country still had enough resources to support its people. Then Marcos took everything from us. We are now at 90 something million and poorer by the minute because we keep electing corrupt government officials who take what little there is. Stop popping out kids if you want to have any hope for this country, for this planet!

  • The problem in our country is over population. Manila will never be the same again because of too many squatters and jobless people cramped in every corner of the once scenic views.Too bad the new generations never experienced how beautiful the whole of the National capital region during the 50's going to late 70's.

  • @chubbyyik dont comment unless you know what you are talking about.

  • @leajgi11 I agree with you Lea.

  • Its sad that Pinoys have not learned the value of discipline. This would have been an awesome place to live in.

  • sino kaya ang photographer ng mga litratong ito? these are aweesome!!!

  • thanks for this vid. It's very refreshing. Manila and Makati streets were cleaner then, and my mother told me it's because plastic wrappers and other nonbiodegradable packaging were not heavily used then (or weren't used then?). Those electric wires and lampposts are still around though, and I think they spoil the view, particularly of old Manila architecture in Intramuros. Wish the government would do something about this. Thanks also for using John Williams on Spanish guitar.

  • kung nagtagal lang ang discipline na to sana para na kong nakatira sa europe in a tropical country..almost like a paradise. :) too bad there are greedy clever chimeras are born in such a beautiful place.

  • i was lucky to be born in this era....

    sobrang linis walang kalat!

SOBRANG HINAYANG KO. susko my gawd

  • @ahtnamas03bangui You can't say that the country was better because of Marcos. It was better because our country still had enough resources to support its people. Then Marcos took everything from us, and everyone else after him. We are now at 90 something million and getting poorer by the minute because we keep electing corrupt government officials who take what little there is. People should stop popping out kids if they want to have any hope for this country, for this planet!

  • gone are the days of manila on its prime.

  • So clean and orderly. Everyone is dressed nicely. No garbage no squatter. What happened?

  • i was born in a wrong era! -_-

  • Great video. I rarely saw any photos and footage of Manila long before it got seriously fouled up with air and noise pollution.

  • Manila was like New York

  • one thing i noticed, the streets then are very clean compared to today which is very filthy

  • Well disciplined, well organized...such a lovely country before....

  • Philippines has a resemblance with america before.....such a wealthy country...i hope philippines will regain its economic power

  • 2:16 wow, people walking on the sidewalk.... bihira nalang yan makita ngayon... :D

  • WOAH THIS IS GOOD I HOpe PHILIppines IS still like This TODAY!

  • sa 2:11 ung kalsada parang flinorwax

  • this is metro manila not mexico

  • theres only one reason why we are poor today :/

    and u don't wanna know

  • kaygandang pagmasdan, nakaka bata at nakaka relax nung dekada ng aking kapanganakan..

  • mas desente manamit yung mga tao dati

  • sana ma ulit muli!

  • ang linis linis pa ng kalsada noon

  • Manila used to be a great clean city. First time i visit was in 1990 and it was still in good condition, after a decade, too much trash and pollution. after 8 years, more trash and pollution in the street and stinky looking place. I don't blame it mostly on the people living there because government officials are not doing their job properly, also the police doesn't care. W/ lack of discipline and good strick regulations plus corrupt useless politicians what do we expect.

  • @robertosromero name of the music pls..

  • this is not in manila maybe in the other pictures.. this is in cabo san lucas mexico..

  • @northsideracers those picture are from metro manila and part of makati. i was born there thats why i know those places. i have walked on the streets of avenida rizal escolta area roxas blvd besides manila bay. ayala ave. of makati fort santiago when i was a young boy. let me know if there is one.

  • @northsideracers lol you just dont want the philippines is better than mexico

  • @northsideracers I didn't know there were colorful jeepneys and places such as LIWANAG cafe in mexico. Dream on, dude.

  • @northsideracers That is manila. Dewey Blvd. or Roxas Blvd. just by manila bay is there. But the water is much cleaner back then and the color of the water was blueish. Now it's gray and dark mud color. It shows how polluted the waters are now.

  • @northsideracers you are a moron....nothing else. And your mom and your kids believes so.

  • @northsideracers

Yeah right!?? most of those land marks can be still seen in MANILA today

And these are 100% MANILA.. I lived in Manila half of my life

AND that is 100% Manila at its best in 1960s when Philippine Economy

was just trailing Japan then it collapsed in 1970s

due to civil war and protests

  • @technical010 it just mean That The manile in 1960's is better than mexico

  • @francesjay120 .. i think so.. Mexico overtook Philippines in 1970s in terms of Standard of living

in 1960s.. Philippines was the most developed country in South East Asia

It was the 2nd most high tech country next to Japan

However in 1970-1971.. a protest of Communist went out

in 1972 the President declared Martial and put all the country under military law until 1981.. this ravaged the economy

    Since

1971 Philippines is slowing down and slowly getting poorer

  • @francesjay120

From 1955-1962.. Philippines was the 3rd largest Economy in ASIA

And the standard of living was comparable to Japan

If the Japanese had something in 2.. the Filipino has it in 1.2 quantity

if an American has $10.. the Japanese has $5.. and the Filipino has $2

and the Chinese got $1 and Koreans were among the poorest

Mexico probably.. because Mexico had economic problems too then

  • @francesjay120

In 1960s.. the Richest Countries in Asia are Japan, China and Philippines

but the condition of living in China was not so good.. as Philippines until year 2000 when the minimum wage in China becomes better than Philippines

South Korea was also poor then.. but overtook the Philippines

by 2 times in 1980.. the average Korean earns twice a Filipino

Now a Korean earns 10 times a Filipino

  • @francesjay120

According to Sources.. Mexico used to have same standard of living with philippines in 1970s.. shortly Philippines declined and almost collapsed in 1986

  • @northsideracers That is manila.you just do not notice it because manila is poor today.but before manila was a nice place to go to.

  • @northsideracers LOL Mexico doesn't have Jeepneys

  • @northsideracers mexico?? wakakaka u dreaming boy.

  • @northsideracers manila yn bro

  • @northsideracers 100% Philippines and Manila

SOLUTION? AYUSIN NATIN ANG PRESENT AND FUTURE.

WAKE UP TO REALITY AND FIND A SOLUTION AS TO HOW OUR COUNTRY DECAYED FROM THIS TO TODAY

  • There was one footage here that displayed Mackay Radio. Historically, this was the descendant of the pioneering GSM digital mobile phone network here in the Philippines - Globe Telecom. Not quite sure though if the sign where it was posted was the exact location of that office.

  • ...why complain or blame about your country or its economy when ya all created it that way? so why not make a stand and be counted in such a way ya all will bring back that glorifying days and set a better future rather than talk, argue or fight a senseless act that can only benefit to so few!

  • Wow Manila was so beautiful back then. What the hell happened? I went back there recently for the first time, and it was so dirty and poverty stricken. Why can't we go back to making Manila that nice again?

  • Well we have to remember that the Philippines become the 2nd richest country in Asia during the 60s and early 70s but after Martial Law was implemented, everything went down hill, People Power made it worse and now, everything is screwed up
