A dog thats beaten and starved will still wag its tail when its master enters the room. This innocence being lost is usually given a greater amount of sympathy, especially if the animal itself did nothing to deserve its fate.

To state my reasoning, go to my channel and watch the video "Libyan Revolution 2011". The problem I see is that people in our society value the life of a dog more than the life of a human. No one cares about the fact that as we speak, people are getting killed for ignorant reasons, or that kids are starving and homeless all over the world or any other terrible problem that exists on Earth.
