  • But I thought that the RED could only go up to 100fps in 2K. How did you get it to work?

  • Like Yezdi said USE real film, numbskulls!

  • What is better ... the Red One? Or the 150,000 dollar Sony Cinealta? Just curious. I've heard a lot arugment between which looks more like film.

  • @sonne5 Save yourself $100,000 and buy a Red One. ;)

  • @sonne5 probably red

  • @sonne5 It depends on the story. Some things look better on film and some better on digital. So it's a battle that never ends.

  • Real FILM looks better!

  • how many fps?

  • @freddyfreddy101 100 fps on slow mo shots, 24 fps for the rest

  • What did it look like in Color? Alot of effort and you cant see shit.... I know it part youtube but common guys... help us evaluate the camera.

  • @EmpireOneMedia wasn't focusing on color. Mostly trying out the frame rate. When it was originally in color though it didn't look great honestly due to the fact we shot in worst lighting conditions and not bothering renting enough lights.

Next shoot we do will be color test.

  • Hey, did you use varispeed to get the slow motion shots or were you just able to make whole project at 100 fps?

  • We actually never got to test the varispeed on the camera. Most of the shots used were filmed at 100 fps, except for the shot of the train track, when the girl first drops the coin into the water, the train passing by, and the shot of the fence before the kiss.

  • Only thing what i did buy of the RED store was the cap. Lol

  • @RobinMoviesOffical Lol! That's probably all I could afford, too. :)

  • where?i don't see any?might be from downscaling to 720p

  • that could b true

  • Cool.

  • the movie Antichrist is shot with Red One.. Amazing to watch

  • Yeah, you're right, and it looks truly stunning...if you can stomach the content that has been filmed with it. :)

  • district 9 was also filmed with a red one

  • As was Angels & Demons

  • @gadgetmanlol Very easy camera to learn, District 9 looked excellent with the Red. Wise choice for the director

  • @gadgetmanlol it was a back up camera from what i hear and most of it, about 80% was shot with something else like the genesis.

  • Yeah. ALOT of movies have been shot on the Red.

  • I wonder how many GPU's it takes to run a 4K stream... any ideas? RED RAY should be a super computer to be able to read such a high quality stream

  • I'm pretty sure Nvidia's Quadro's/Telsla's would do it

If you've got the money for that stuff...

  • Yeah,i've bough i7 Quadro FX Computer, and its pretty fast editing videos recorded on my red one.

  • I would give anything to get my hands on a red cam. Good job, there's some really nice shots in there.

  • Looks great! Any special adaptors or programs for the slow mo? Or is it natively capable?

  • Red have a new 'brain' sensor thingy that can shoot 30fps video at 28K!!!! Why would anyone want to shoot video at that res?

  • project onto airport runways for people to watch from above ;)

  • because they look insanely good? xD

of course you are right, and it's not practical useful NOW, but in a few years, the cinemas turn better and better , and the beamers and everything... and someday you can watch reeeaally high res ( noch hd ) at home and 28K in cinema... I think ^^

  • trust me for macro shooting, thats amazing, imagine being able to shoot the hairs on a bee while in flight... there is so much the human eye cannot catch

  • Does it really matter it didn't originate from 4K? 2K is still way over-sampled considering it's down-rezed to YouTube compression standards.

  • Love the song!!

  • your mum and you are whack because you arent smart enough to read the video information that says : "Produced this to test out the new Red Camera."

This Video is great. I wish I had a RED...

  • chad my mom said this video is wack it has no story

  • your a dumb ass

  • Hey that's the Metrolink!

  • Yup! Where is your Metrolink station?

  • Buena Park!

  • Btw because of this video, i have become obsessed with Husky Rescue, so gracias

  • If you got a The Red Ones.... Its a dream that come true! for every film maker noob to medium to expert to pro!

  • crisp sharp, beautiful, well done :)

  • Beautiful...

  • beautiful scenery, very well shot and well produced.

simple question: what software are you using for editing, and how are you encoding your final output? I'm having trouble finding a decent codec and settings, I'm just going by trial and error for now.

  • I used final cut pro, took forever editing on a Mac book because it was slow.

I used Compressor and the settings I used for Youtube were under : Apple > Other Work > Web > Quicktime 7 Compatible > H.264 800 KBS and changed the width and heith to 1260 x 720 from what I remember

  • i dig this!

  • nice job!

  • I need 28K 10000 FPS

  • Umm... is the epic really going to have 1000fps? or you just wishing?

  • What frame rate did you shoot at, I was under the understanding that above 30fps the Red shot at 2K not 4.

  • You know what. You are right, I goofed on that part. I shot at 2k 100fps, all the shots with the fire were used with that setting, same with all the other slow motion scenes.
