Why doesn't my truck smoke at all with smarty? I've even got 4" all the way (no mufflers) to 5 inch stacks. I want it to smoke :p should I buy bigger injectors? like..110 hp?
got an 03cummins 5spd. juice w attitude. Fass fuel. Smarty 2maro. the nice thing about smarty is it has timing or without timing that way u can stack it with you edge box.
Dude you dont know what your talking about. A smarty on a 2nd gen engine will not trash a tranny. Mine held up fine with that, and mine even held up for almost a year when i added a juice with attitude ontop of it. And mine was automatic!
Dieseldude mine was a 99. The dodge tranny is not very good to say the least. Mine went at 77k miles, and had never towed more than a 14' boat. I started modding with a fresh tranny, then put an aftermarket in when i blew it. You can never say for sure that a certain mod wont hurt anything, but a smarty will not usually hurt a 2nd gen truck. The most it adds is 70 hp or so. All it does it mess with timing and will allow the tires to spin on an 01-02.
You might also consider an edge EZ or any of the other timing boxes. Fueling boxes like the juice w/ att will hurt your tranny. I could slip the hell out of mine when it was maxed out. Before you do any mods, an EGT guage is a must!
i was going to just not get a chip right now and go with some injectors and a fass fuel system (with a set of guages of course)but im not sure cause i want alot of smoke:) but not so much power that my trans wont hold.
Yeah you could probably do that just fine. Just be prepared incase something does happen. My tranny was $2400. If you want alot of smoke your best bet would be to save up $2000 and get an aftermarket Torque Converter and Valve Body (About $1400 total if I remember). Then buy a Juice W/ attitude. It comes with all your gauges. I did the tranny work myself and it wasnt hard

More of roll-on didn't want to hurt the clutch. Not speed shifting. The video is meant more for fun and to blow a little smoke. LOL
