  • its crazy to speak more then 1 language you understand everything without realizing its another language lol

esta bueno el motion track en este video

  • impresionante parece que estuvieran los carteles puestos de verdad o a lo mejor soy yo que no me fijo cuando voy por gran vía :), pero en serio muy bueno

  • did you have to offset track?

  • i want to know, i have a video that is 3 minutes long long i only want to track only a minute of it so after i track that minute how do i get back the play the full 3 minute video with the track i created.

    thanks.

  • male malasiin unto kom :DDD

  • Im kind of new to this. In my composition Im trying to track text out of the camera frame and with different angles with no cuts. If you could help me with any tricks for that, that would be great do I have tto change the track point for every angle? Thanks!

  • looks a little choppy on the bus. but very well done :]

  • wow! That totally worked! Thank you so much!!!

  • oh and i have one last question. What if the perspective of the object your tracking changes? Im tracking a bag that someone is carrying around...but the angle of bag vis-a-vie the camera changes...possible?

  • @epicurean1986 Yes, but getting more difficult (at least in AE. There are more poweful trackers out there though). You'd need 4 good tracking points on the bag. In the tracker dialog/window set the "Track Type:" to perspective corner pin and then line up the 4 trackers with the 4 tracking points. If any of the 4 tracking points go out of frame or become obscured in anyway (object rotating too far especially) it's going to get more difficult. Good luck.

  • @JuicestainMedia Now thats a tip I can use. Multiple points. Perfect. Been trying to track a taxi/with a topper that starts out of frame and then turns while in frame. Bezier warp would be too much hand work for sloppy results. Thanks.

  • @epicurean1986 If you are working in After Effects cs 4 or higher, try to track with Mocha, it tracks the surface and not only a few pixels like in After effects.

  • Thanks a lot...

Ae is just super hard....wish there was a FCP motion tracking function available

things would be much simpler.... :\

  • ya i have been trying it all day and the video just wiggles around, looking super stupid :p

I think AE gets confused w the tracking points...did you do this one frame by frame?

  • @epicurean1986 There is almost always a bit of manual manipulation needed, but if you've got decent quality video to work with (DV being the minimum, but the higher res the better) and high contrast clearly visible tracking points, it should do a pretty good job by itself.

  • ok so this is super cool

im just starting out w AE and could really use some help

in stead of putting text on a moving object, is it possible to put a video and make it look this awesome???

  • @epicurean1986 In theory, yes. For example, you could replace the back window of the bus with a video. Making it look awesome is completely subjective though. ;) Or if you had a shot with a TV in a room and you wanted to put a fake news broadcast on it in post production, you could use this (or a similar tracking) method to place the video "in" the TV frame.

  • Nice tracking dude

  • hi, great video.-

I was wondering if you could help me out with a little problem i have: i can make after effects follow an object that is already in the shot, my problem is that i dont know how to do it so that i can do this when an object comesinto or out of the shot. thanks!

  • Good job!

  • Hey, nice vid!

I have a question though. I've used motion tracking before and it was a God send. lol However, I opened After Effects today and it was gone! MY workspace still says, "Motion Tracking" but it's not in there. Have you ever encountered this? I really need to get my motion tracking feature back. :(

  • There are a few ways to get the tracker controls back on screen. 1. Click "Window" on the menu bar and make sure "Tracker Controls" is check marked. 2. You can right-click on the video you want to track and select "track motion." 3. (Note: Work Spaces maintain whatever changes you make. If you close a panel it stays closed.) With the "Motion Tracking" workspace selected click "reset Motion Tracking" from the workspace drop down to get it back the way it was.

  • Sadly, I've tried all of those methods. Thanks for your help though! I guess I'll just have to get along without it. lol

  • Hmmm... strange indeed. Can't say I've ever heard of anything like that. Pray at the altar of Google, if you haven't already!

  • XD Haha, I've been praying all day and still no answers.

  • reinstall AE

  • thanks for the response. i will check wikipedia out i have already gotten boujou and going try that sometime

  • great job in getting it to stick so well. i am trying to stick a next to a car but not much luck in getting to stay as the vehicle goes off screen./ Can u help? tutorial or something

  • check out this guy on youtube: AppleShakeGuru Good luck.

  • After Effects isn´t the best for motion tracking, especially in cases where your tracking points are going off screen. The only real option at that point is manually moving the points. There are more advanced match moving options out there (actual camera motion tracking, not just pixel motion) but they can get complicated (depending on the shot type) and some are very expensive. Try it manually or look for tutorials on boujou and similar software (wikipedia has a good list for "match moving").

  • No im just sayin nice butt never min awsome tho i liked how u keep the thing on there and it didnt look like it was movin every where

  • ???

  • Did you have a question? I'd be happy to answer. Or is three question marks a good thing? =)

  • SWEET
