  • Leclair and Hextall were my heroes back then. The day I got my Leclair jersey autographed was the absolute greatest day of my life as a kid.

  • Big E!!!!

  • Song on this video?

  • Does anyone know the goal song for the Flyers at home during the LoD-era??

  • Leclair always captured my imagination as a Hockey Player. In part, His strength, and reach, and talent.

  • One of the best lines in hockey!

  • LOD line is back Dec. 31st!

  • @Lightsydephil Don't count on it. I just read that the Swedish TV-channel (SVT 1), that Renberg works for, don't want him to join that game. He's the commentator for the channel and they broadcast the Junior World Cup. Team Sweden has a game the same date as the winter classic... :(

  • LINDROS IS BACK IN ORANGE & BLACK!

  • Great clip!!

    Those guys were MEAN.

Best line since Makarov-Larionov-Krutov in the russian national team during the 80`s?

  • Sorry To all you flyer Fans I'm a die hard Hab fan And The Big E was Awesome and no other player can touch his power and had incredible skills and was a LEGION all by HIMSELF One of my hockey heroes. P.S Bobby Clarke was and always has been an IDIOT a very stupid stupid man!!!! HAIL LINDROS.

  • THE LEGION OF DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM

  • How didnt we win a cup?

  • @scotchie69 Same reason you didn't win it this year. It's called GOALTENDING!

  • J Leclairs goal at 3:50 defined who he was, Unstoppable in those days.

  • best line ever!

  • wasn't the Legion of Doom a Tag Team in the World Wrestling Federation?

  • Its great watching these guys play together. I Miss them. But still Go Flyers.

Leclair will be my Jersey forever.

  • Leclair rocked the NHL for 4 years straight. N DBT.

  • Loved the legion of doom. But as a Flyers fan, Hate Eric Lindros, b/c of the way he went out. It's such a shame he ever donned that uniform.

  • @Tvtech9 What a shameful and ridiculous comment, man.Think about the nonsense, you just said.Lindros is the best Flyer ever, period.

  • I remember when the leafs picked up renberg... about 6 years after he was any good lol

  • Is the play-by-play guy the same guy who says "He scores for a case of Tasty Cakes!'?'

  • @sportsguruisme yes. Jim Jackson!

  • @sportsguruisme Yep, same guy they have today =) He's the man.

  • i love the part when the commentator says " The legion is on the move"

  • I loved watching them play during the lockout sesaon, amazing.

  • calisse

  • The most dominant line ever. It'd overpower, outmuscle, outhit and outsmart any opposing line.

  • used to be a big fan of Renberg. hell, still is.

  • How I still miss them, But, our Vermont boy John leClair just made it in the HALL OF FAME, Congrats John, you deserve it. He was a awesome player and miss him playing.. People do make it Big from little VT...

  • wtf he isn't in the hockey hall of fame yet the us hall of fame is much less important than the hockey hall

  • Mikael Renberg the best!

  • @Ronin27x Lindros and leclair were a force renberg was there just to pick up the scraps?

  • this is when i liked the flyers

  • @thefirefighter because they were better than ever? lol... bandwagon.

  • John LeClair was the man...quite possibly my favorite Flyer of all time. The Legion of Doom was one of the best lines in hockey

  • You're damn right!Strange things happened in the 97 finals.I mean just think of McCarty The guy's always been more than average player with an awful regime off the ice(drinking) and yet he scores a highlight goal of his career in the series.Never ever has he done anything more remarkable or noteworthy.I'll be baffled by that series for a long time until i ask BigE for his opinion.I need to hear the truth.

  • From the perspective of a wings fan: This is why the Flyers were swept in 97.

The Legion is Doomed...er, Legion of doom, wasn't exactly shooting a ton. Wings playing a defensive game prevented a lot of shots getting through to mike vernon. Lack of production from 2nd-3rd lines also did em in.

GOALTENDING. Hextall Collapsed for 4 in game 1, 6 in Game 3, and 2 in game 4. Replacing him with Snow in game 2 mustve done something to his confidence. Vernon played out of this world in that final

  • Addendum: Hence why Vernon won the Conn Smythe that year.

  • Hiei2k7,i truly appreciate your point of view and your OBJECTIVE and no-nonsense perspective.I think i have to agree with on all of it.But i guess neither i nor you aren't able to figure out WHY on earth the other lines weren' producing in the most critical time,WHY hextall collapsed in the most critical time and WHY until then solid defence wasn't as solid (again, McCarty's goal). So i still remain clueless.

  • Niinimaa bit hard on McCarty's first move. The rest was just taking a detour around the fallen D-man.

You also have to remember how jumbled the Eastern Conference was in the 90s. There were never any clear powerhouses that came into the playoffs as a favorite every year. Sure, Jersey won in 95 and 2000, but in those span years, they didn't do jack. Between those years you had East champs:

    1996: Florida

    97: Philly

    98: Washington

    99: Buffalo

    Not exactly proven powers.

  • You made a good point with Eastern teams and powerhouses.those were strange times though.Florida was a pure fluke,Buffalo was dangerous every year only because of Hasek,Penguins had Mario constantly in and out,Washington mostly rather struggled, the Rangers were dangerous with their spending spree,i think there were some tough battles though in East .playoffs before you got into the Conf. finals. But i concede that Vernon might've been the difference all in all.You don't win with one or two goals.

  • The Legion of Doom dominated the entire time that Eric,John and Michael played together .I never figured out the downturn in Final against the Red Wings.I mean letting MCCARTY cut through like that ,give me a fucking break.I thought the flyers had some depth, because player such as Briand'Amour played not on better than a second line. And until then solid Hextall collapsed, just mind boggling.I don't want to reiterate what i've said about BigE,(just a jaw-dropping stuff).I miss him tremendously.

  • you seem to have commented on every lindros video i have seen on youtube

  • Oh,man i wish!I'm too far from accomplishing that....But my goal is to reply to most of the comments on You Tube both positive and negative on Eric Lindros.I try to outargue each and every hater and basher and encourage all the fans of his. What about you,a fan or not really?

  • fan, have one of his replica jersey which i wear more often than not lol

  • That's great, man!I have his jersey too,it's original with his signature and i humbly accepted it from buddy of mine, whose dad worked in the good old Spectrum. The jersey is goddamn hot!Eric looked so fantastic in it and so scary too. After all, he gave all those delightful hits in that one.Love your loyalty, you're a true fan of his.You keep in touch.

  • if you had therien etc in front of you would you be a good goalie? or would your nerves be shot? :p

  • The playoff runs of the rangers and the nucks in 93-94 got me into the NHL and the Legion of Doom kept me in. Great stuff!

  • wow, i miss these days, now the my flyers cant beat the pens, fucking disgrace.

  • dude don't even worry about it their days coming

  • @ShadowStalker999

yea...the flyers and eagles always win 'next year'

  • I was at a game at the old Aud in Buffalo a long time ago. It was LeClair and Lindros on a 2 on 1. They passed back and forth what seemed like a dozen times before making the defenseman and goalie look silly when Lindros put it away.

The Legion of Doom was the best. Didn't they record 99% of goals for the Flyers at their height?

  • Lindros was pure power, Renberg had the speed, and LeClair brought the skill. Too bad the rest of the team was all plumbers.

  • And now we have Biron :) I was really bummed we didn't trade for a better goalie, but i guess if Biron plays like he did in the playoffs last year, it will be all good. Thats a huge if though

  • I so love, love, love, love, LOVE the Big E!! People can drag him down whatever they want but to me he will always be the best hockeyplayer EVER!

  • Hi there! What's left to say?You stole my thoughts again,girl....:)

  • Hey my friend! And again we crossed roads :D I just read your comment about Eric's jersey. I have his Jersey as well with a signature! I don't live in the US so I have to look at ebay and I plan to collect all of the jerseys he wore at all teams. I still have a couple of Canada Jerseys to go and a few more teams but I wear them proudly. I miss the Big E. I defend him as much as I can and I know many people are very rude. But I don't care. Defending someone like Eric is our job ;)

  • Hey GalilGade!Your comment is simply thrilling to read,im very excited for you and your goal.I plan on the same, although i really think that his Flyers jersey is the hottest and coolest of all. What a fit those black orange and whitecolors were! And that magic and adorable number 88....It'd just always draw my attention so much.I"ll be pretty much heartbroken and mad for the rest of my life over his forced retirement.I"ll defend Eric from bashers and haters anytime, anywhere, anyhow.Eric=RESPECT

  • When I come home after a long day of work it feels good to read your comments! Yeah, the philly jersey is the most beautiful jersey one can have. It is good to show his name to everybody. And the Big E deserves a lot respect. Right now I have 4 Flyers jerseys, 1 canadian jersey, 1NYR jersey and a couple of LIndros T-shirts. And sometimes people ask what I like about Lindros or Hockey and then I reply: If you watched Hockey in the 90's you would have known why. I will always miss him

  • I feel the same about your commentsAnd wow, you"re better than me as far as jerseys!I'm really proud of you:D.I'd like to see priceless reactions from people when you,as a woman, passionately defend Eric.

  • HAHAHAH i like how leclair puts his glove on top of the senators player at 1:27

  • this was on prism I have this 1996

  • The Leclair goat at 1:57 on a 1 foot spin was awesome.

  • Too bad Clarke couldn't do more than put together one great line. Three lines of scrubs behind the legion of doom line, not to mention sub par goal tending. Yes they got to the cup, but then faced a deep team in Detroit. Oh, and I am a huge Flyers fan, and a big Lindros fan, so I am not just a hater. However, Bob Clarke is a douchebag.

  • Hey Zaphrod88,like that number on there:DYou're totally right in your comment.Bob relied on BigE more than heavily, praised him anytime he'd get a chance and respected him a great deal.Eric singlehandedly brought the Flyers to the finals, but let's face it ,as a human he could do only so much without not getting burned out eventually. That, along w all the facts you name out, kind of sealed the deal.Bob was getting impatient and unreasonable OFF the ice instead of getting some real help ON the ice

  • please, uppload more vids bout' The legion :))

  • Let's all fans of Eric Lindros hope, that the right people do so in near future.

  • great vid, totally agree with you Insanehockeyfan.

  • Thank you for putting together this video. Lindros is my all time fav player.

  • That's really terrific, man! Thanks from a die hard fan of Eric are on their way.
