  • @wd40007 I cant wait untill some roughneck kicks your ass!

  • good job guys

  • this shit gives me a boner. No chain?

  • this shit gives me a boner.

  • If you want to be a consultant you need experience. and how you gain experience is starting at the bottom, all you immigrant fucks who think you can just to Canada take an engineering course or technology program and then enter the field need to give your dumb head a shake.. maybe get back on your floating door and go home

  • kinda slow guys but you are the first crew on here to use both sets of tongs to break out and make up the connection so I applaud you for that!

  • @KeepEuropeWhite i suppose after bout a week ya would probably get fairly used to it alright and yes lets keep europe white but we're fighting a losing battle in ireland im afraid with our open door policy, fucking political parties in ireland are fucking disgraceful!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wish my tongs weighed 20 pounds...

  • ya'll don't even throw a chain. Thats real roughneckin. Go in the hole with 13,000 foot or string with a chain and tell me how you feel

  • You rig boyz always have funny comments. I love it!

  • I've done both land and offshore...offshore is the ONLY way to roughneck. Of course that's like having a choice of dying by hanging, or dying by strangulation.

I never left the oilfield, it' left me

  • I could do this shit in my sleep. Most oilfield worker are meth head failures.

  • @BlueGoose20 im sure you could handle a conection or 2 but these guys work for 12 hours a day away from their families for 20 days at a time and they go back again after all of it! hardly a failure, now go throw on your hi viz vest and collect some stray shopping carts from the parking lot, or whatever it is that you do.

  • @boobsmaster hey cockmaster I could and would out work your doped up ass every day of the week. Thats a fact. Now shut up ass hat.

  • @BlueGoose20 looks to me like you sit around and bash everyone else for how they make money what they do for fun, but your nothing but a keyboard jockey with a bad attitude. little clown

  • @boobsmaster

    hahahaha....good one!

  • Precision Drilling... Rest in Peace Kerry.

  • The pay is good, but this job is some serious industrial muscling.

If you have never done any manual labor in your life, I do not recommend this job. I warned you...

  • @Nopartyforme82 im doing a course for offshore rigs, i have worked on construction sites before working 70 hour weeks but have not done that work for about 2 years because of the economic climate of Ireland, im a fucking hard worker but what would you recommend to toughen myself up for it? i thought join the gym again, any info would be of great use.

  • @IRELANDISMYCOUNTRY Go and buy a big sledge hammer and some star pickets and practice knocking them into the ground and pulling them back out again, get an old tractor tyre from tyre place and hit the tyre with sledgehammer for a couple of hours and generally swing that hammer around for at least 5 hours a day every day, that should toughen you up a bit.

Oh, your going Offshore, uumm, do some sledgehammer work and practice sitting reading pressure gauges for long periods of time... hahaha jokes

  • Respond to this video... your already fired pussy.

  • Hellava way to make a living!!!!

  • hubby is starting at pioneer drilling.... watching these videos are freakin me out!

  • @MrEshawnc You'll get a lot of money if he's killed doing the job, so at least you have that

  • @MrEshawnc Yeah, but thats a Kelly Drive, and the guys in this video work for Precision Drilling, the company I work for. Precision doesnt use Kelly Rigs anymore, and to my knowledge, not many companies do. So your "hubby" will be alright! (unless pioneer drilling is like Cyclone Drilling...)

  • @MrEshawnc pioneer out of Illinois ?

  • toooo sloooowwwww!!!!!!!!!!!

  • SOOOO, ya wanne be a roughneck...EH?? - Reg McDonald all day long! Lovin' it!

  • Any job openings?

  • I WORK FOR TESCO AND I'M ABOUT TO GET ON THE COMPANY AND START TRAINING TO GO OUT ON THE OIL RIGS I'M KIND OF EXCITED THOUGH I'M ABOUT TO GO MAKE SOME ARAB MONEY...LOL

  • roughneckin' is good money....but it's fucking nigger work! If you're up for it, do it for 2 years MAX...then go get yourself a proper education. The neanderthals will wear you down, for sure :)

  • This is probably a really stupid question.... But are you permitted to smoke on these rigs?

  • @hellknight1984 they used to let us smoke while we were drilling surface hole, but hardly worthwhile 32 feet of pipe drills fairly fast for the first 1000 or so feet. once the surface casing has been run, concreted and you have drilled through the shoe it's off to the side of the lease if ya wanna choke on a nail

  • loooking to get on a company right now

  • can some one tell me how many roughnecks are on 1 rig ??

  • @djtwig999 depends on what you consider a roughneck but at any given time theyres prly between 20-40 people working on a rig

  • @matt2009matt 20-40 people working on a rig? are you stupid....theres only 5 people too a crew that work on a rig.. leasehand, roughneck, motorhand, dereck hand and the driller..then theres the toolpush and consultant but theyre in the shacks

  • @djtwig999 were i worked we had 2 crews workin around the clock. 1 crew worked midday to midnight, the other crew worked midnight to midday. a crew consists of 1 driller, 1 derrickman, 1 lead floorman (motorman), 2 floormen (roughneck), 1 leasehand (worm). there would also be a crew enjoying their well deserved week off.

there is also rig manager (tool pusher) and a couple of tradies. the rest of the people are oil company men (petroleum engineers), and service hands at different times

  • @crow0727 Where do the consultants come in? I'm new to this whole oil and gas industry, and have been trying to figure out what a consultant does, and how he gets to his position. Could you fill me in?

  • work in southtexas. 125 on the rig floor. not much you can doo about the heat. but you could bundle up in the cold

  • good job guys...

  • Thats for the vid guys. I wanted to show some friends what ill be doing out in alberta and this vid shows it well

  • im a roughneck for nabors drilling

  • I WOULD LIKE TO SEE A REAL OIL RIG GO UP TO THE FLOOR AND WATCH THIM DRILL FOR OIL drillrig5

  • catch it in a bucket, then pour it on the bop. why bother closing the kelly valve

  • ya'll would be a couple of run off mufuckerz with me. look like a couple of grandmas

  • @dickjohnson474747 Great attitude. Maybe they worked quick the day before and now they're worn out.

  • What a f... cirque solei, 3.03 min for conections with single DP, and 4.45min do establish rotation? i know the canadian can due better.

    Dammmm it

  • @drillerkiller38 we got a damn topdrive....90 foot connections... under 2 minutes... from pump off to pump on....

  • tht looks like a neighbors rid is it

  • @MultiJohnj looks like your hooked Fonix

  • @WHU4EVER100 hooked on wut is it a neighbors rig??????? there wearing smurf suits lol

  • Real men figure out what they like doing pretty quick whether dirty or not. They persue it and become good at what they do simply because they enjoy it.

  • Real men start out roughnecking, they observe and learn. They look around at who's NOT getting dirty, and find out how they got a job NOT getting dirty, and then go pursue that job.

"If you're close enough to the work to get dirty, you ain't makin' no money"

  • @superstud666

On behalf of anybody that has had to work with you, they agree! ;)

  • @superstud666

Too bad you have such a crappy life that you have to try to make others feel bad to make yourself feel better.

Some people have families that love them and are interested in what they do.

  • dang thats a pretty quiet rig. diesel-electric im guessing?

  • Holy hell is that Shane! Just got off the night 12 now I'm dickin around on the internet and I swear that's Shane with the long hair! I just got home from the 822 PD super single down here on the Barnett in cleburne TX. He was the Derrick man there for awhile and just two week's ago he went back to Canada! We will miss ya' buddy hope you got that raise! Whoever made this video write me back and let me know if that is him please!

  • slowest crew ever

  • slow is smooth and smooth is fast good job guys

  • All this negative BS! Lets just all go to the job, get 'er done, and get back home safe. Fast, slow, the only ones who giveashit are the money mongers you are kickin' that dollar up to. Remember, no matter your wage, the company is the one reaping the real reward. I've lived in that front office before. I know what I'm talkin' about. You men are the ones who deserve the real credit. After swingin' tongs and pullin' slips myself just to see what it's like, I've come to respect what you do for us.

  • @rabie4x4 ..he is write..were all from the oilfield...act like you give a shit bout it...were here becuase we love it..you dont think bout the money after workind 12 on...you forget bout all that shit bout half way threw your week on.

  • You know you earned your pay when you do this about a hundred times a day.

  • that was a pretty slow connection rite there that worm needs 2 hv tha dope on tha threads we can make a connection in 1min and 30secs and we throw chain took along time to get that fast tho

  • I work for sst in wyoming and i live in arizona it's a long drive to work but the money is still pretty good. Hopefully things pick up.

  • Whats drilling like in Canada?? Did it in Wyoming for a short time...Want to get back in but no one here is hiring

Fukd up but better then driving semi

  • nice to see doug and teryl in action on rig 420 again.

    This is an old video.

  • ya man, i went golfing with the guy's dad who owns eagle drilling, it was at white bear lake in saskatchewan

  • no real men drill in canada where its cold as fuck

  • @boobsmaster I will give it to them, I can't handle -5 celcius, and minus -8 is the coldest i'v ever been in out in the desert at night time, but in Australia, out in the nullabor, basins and the pilbara where it gets +52 celcius in the day and you see the hardest biggest mothefuckers go down with dehydration, fully grown oilfield men fall down with cold shivers and start crying, pure sand and dust my bro.

  • @surrealismisabitch yes.............. i worked over the other side, Strezlecki desert, great stony desert, great sandy desert, the white sands of Moomba gas fields SA, the red dust of Jackson oil fields QLD, the entire Cooper Basin.

Over past Innamincker by the Cooper River were we where riggin up I had to put down my pick, go grab a bottle of water and tend to this 120kg musclebound Roughneck that had just hit the deck and was now cryin like a baby wonderin what the fuck just happened.

  • @boobsmaster I've drilled in wyoming in the winter where it gets -5 degrees on a good day.

  • @DahMax22 Work in the jonah in mid January. -65 degrees wind chill

  • @boobsmaster fuckkk yaaa just finished up in swan hills -35 the dunlops start to get a little hard at that temp.

  • @boobsmaster i drill your mums ass everynight ahha

  • im bout to start roughneck for eagle drilling! anyone hear of it?!

  • Yeah, Derrick Big Eagle is one of the owners, they are out of Carlisle SK, their rigs are nicely maintained and modern, nice to work on. WE have done allot of coring on their rigs, nice setups they have. I also like the nice yellow rigs, beats Big Sky blue or PD green anytime.

  • @Guilty09 ya i heard of em, iv been wanting to start drilling too. did u start already and if so how is it? hows the work/hrs an the pay?

    thanks

  • @Guilty09 no never have

  • @Guilty09 yeah i heard of eagle drilling thats where im trying to get a job at.

  • Comment removed

  • @redandwhyte Precision Drilling here... USA....

  • @Guilty09 have fun working for a dirty indian

  • @Guilty09 nope but i have heard of canelson

  • saskatchewan rules all

  • Fuck West Mexas roughnecks. Bunch of pussies, all talk no action. The Rocky Mountain hands know what it's all about, might teach you texas hands a thing or two if ya cared to learn.

  • fuck im glad im a coded welder, weld a few pipes ans rest, weld another and rest longer, then shift change.

Wake up and do it all over again, sleep spmetimes too :)

  • Fuck i hate the rigs... brings back memories of my two week hitch i done last year. the worst time of my life.. i dont know what was worst the work or the bunch of inbreeds you have to put up with.

  • you better watch what you say you fuckin pussy

  • go fuck yourself!!!

  • i know what its like on rigs man, and ur right its fucked. did it for five fucked up years

  • Sling them tongs son! Whoever makes the most hole makes the most money! LOL Hope you're still drillin, weve been stacked for 4 months now drawing unemployment. SUCKS ASS!!!!!!

  • dont listen to them rig pig i was impressed

  • To answer ArmsDealer06 the "collar" is a 2 1/2 foot pice of rubber called a "rubber roughneck" or a "striper" its used to clean the mud and invert off the pipe so it dosent make a mess of the drill floor as its raised up. And the tongs torque the pipe up after its spun together, sometimes as high as 10,000 foot pounds.

  • Jealous eh?

  • Just like old times GOOD WORK MEN!~ Looked windy and COLD out in TEN - BUCK 80.... Always becareful

  • i this phelps 3E i swear it is i worked on this rig

  • Near the beginning, what is that collar they throw around the pipe into the hole and what does it do, stop the pipe? Also, what do the tongs do, screw the pipes together?

  • That thing at the start are called Table Slips, well there are many names but slips is the most common, and they basically hold the drill string up while your kelly rod or top head drive or elevators or lifting plug or whatever ur doing, (otherwise the rods would simply fall down hole) and those tongs are the break the seal between pipe or kelly and pipe or top drive an pipe, and this rig has a spinna, so that undoes the pipe, and they reverse it to torque the pipe wen makin up a new connectiion

  • For one that is in no way roughnecking, coming from a west texas hand. Secondly, yankee and Canadian hands don't really know what roughnecking is about. Johnson bars and catheads are a thing of the past, except out here where it all started, and let all roughnecks everywhere not forget that. If you can come here and make it through the three hottest months, 8 to 12 hours a day you are a real roughneck. Fast hol'in, diggin ditches, scrubbing, catching samples, all that.

  • Well this is the slowest i've ever seen.... Where are you from that that you "have it the worst"?

  • @rtparhamjr I've just been recuited by a secret society-just kidding- an offshore oil rig employment agency? I have to pay $215.00 for the 9 hr. saftey class... I have no experience so guess what means? I'll be swaping the pool deck, well by that I mean janitorial stuff. I want to mentally perpare by having a realistic outlook. Will I be cleaning toilets from dusk to dawn for 2 weeks? And will I be getting a break or two?

  • @aaronscrewme

Its oil rigs not rocket science, just remember that and you'll get past all the assholes who try to make a big deal out of it . Stay calm and think shit through before you do anything. If you get on with any kind of crew you'll learn how it all works pretty quick. It's not especially hard work (unless you're in canadian winter), its just dirty as fuck.

  • wow, slow as shit fellas. lucky the push isn't around during nights eh?

  • Be hurry be dead.

  • Do yall really use a fuckin bucket to catch mud? Ya'll slowin down a multi million dollar operation. pick it up! Thats worm speed shit!

  • holy christ boys thats a slow ass connection, pick up the pace.

  • looks like akita blue to me. nice connection boys def a triple look how big the floor is dumb ass

  • wow nw thats slow we do 2min conections with fast drillin almost to 8200 ft bout 8 to 15min kellys on pioneer 68 yeeehaaa mother fuckers roughnecks are the shit

  • we drill 13000 ft every two weeks on west new mexico

  • Pioneer 68 near vernal, i run casing for weatherford, is that fat old asshole still the companyman

  • I like flat line connections bois :D

  • is that thing a tripple.?
