  • Okay this will sort of be a sad question. I am thinking of getting two cali king snakes and it says naturally they eat other snakes. Now corn snakes especially babies seem like little guys. At pet shops they are sort of spendy so is there a place I can buy baby corns for cheap so my cali's can eat a few? I mean, they eat them in the wild and thus I want them to have that part of their diet they naturally have. I would knock out the babies before feeding so they would not hurt my cali's.

  • My snake has to have frozen mice becuse it's a baby

  • MMMMMMMM squeeze the mouse around mmmmmmm suppers served!

  • can i feed it it live food? i have a 30 gallon (long) is that good enough?

  • @DarkStardustDragon74 SHOULD FEED UR SNAKE IN ITS CAGE

  • So how much would some frozen mice cost for an adult corn? Say like a month's supply?

  • Frozen mice are for wussies.

  • what pet store is that

  • @hateseaworld + why you be wacthin a snake video any ways aren't you supposed to be working at sea world

  • @hateseaworld Well arn't you a girl and I love animals as much as the next guy. Really I don't need to deal with you and btw I'm 12 and you should be nice. (NIGGA!)

  • @hateseaworld why do you hate sea world?

  • What the hell are you wearing?!

  • i'm greatly considering getting a corn snake. how long after feeding should you wait to handle them?

  • can i feed it that snake sausage stuff

  • I have two one is on pinkies and took it slowly

and one is one fluffs and take it really quickly

  • should wee be at least 14 to get a corn snake

  • @SuperRehank no as long as you can provide proper habitats and do your research, but corn snake should be at least 7 years old.

  • @FireTrainer12 You can't put an animal raised in captivity in the wild because they wont know how to hunt, even if you give it to them live they wont know what to do.

  • Correction: actually if you want your snake to feed easilly and not be a picky eater, you shouldnt put it in warm water as this takes the scent away from it and snakes food finding senses are smell and heat detection....you should do it the alternative way,by thawing them out at room temp.

  • heforgot to mention that you have to feed your snake in a seperate enclouse and not handle him for a while.

  • surely de-thawing is freezing? lol

  • Can anyone tell me if I should used boiled water, or just hottest possible tap water?

  • @LukeJLV boiling is definitely not a good idea, for me personally I just use very hot tap water. Make sure not to leave the mouse in for too long though, I made that mistake once and it was NOT pretty, I accidentally semi-cooked it and couldn't get the smell out of the room for days :/

  • XDDD You love your job, dont you ^.^

  • guys? ok so um I want a baby corn or a ball python...but a ball python bite looks like it hurts as a juvi. or adult so i wanna corn snake 1 but there really fast like an okette at petsmart but hes fast what age do they get a but slower and calm down?

  • @GtaIVandNerfGuns i talked to a guy at petsmart; i don't know how true it is but he said ball pythons can be worse about biting if they're not handled regularly. he & an actual corn snake owner that i talked to said that the older the snake gets and the more it's handled, the calmer and slower it will become. not sure what age but i'm guessing about a year to a year and a half or so. if you're like me and just starting out, i'd get the corn snake.

  • @larry23433 Try increasing the temperature in the enclosure. If not the only way to get him back to normal is to feed him a live mouse. This stimulates the snake so its your best bet. If not get a vet to check him

  • instead of using tongs, be a real man and use ur fingers\

  • How big can these snakes gett? & how much do those mice cost??

  • @MrICYFRESH23 You can get 100 pinkies for 20$ online and the snake usually reaches about 3 feet. It may seem long but its not considering most of the time there bodies would be curled up

  • @MrICYFRESH23 These snakes can grow about 4-5 feet in length. They RARLY grow 6 feet, and Pinkies are about $1, depends where you live . I'm not sure about the other mice

  • How often do you feed a baby corn snake?

  • @BigAl0305 its about once a week but as it gets older you can feed it twice a week

  • De-thaw? You mean thaw. Irregardless is not a word but regardless of it's use de-thaw might as well be too.

  • @themike1981234 SAT HUH??? :))))))))

  • Water should be warm NOT hot or the mouse will literally fall apart... (fur will fall off and skin will dissolve - believe me i have witnessed this!) not only that but then the mouse would be too hot for the snake to eat. Water should be good and warm and if it starts to cool then top it up with more warm. I have done it that way for more than 14 years and my snakes like and appreciate the realistic body temp in their mice, which i always achieve using the warm water method...

  • Avril lavagine "happy ending" in the backround

  • Ur harsh on those rats plus u can harm ur snake feeding it live feed !!

  • @MrBubblyable While that is probably the main concern feeding live, there's also the issue of snakes that just won't take to frozen/thawed... what can you do but feed them live? as long as you monitor the feeding and make sure it doesn't get the chance to bite your snake, it's a normal feed for snakes.

  • can you feed them thngs that are not mic or bugs? (I have a pet rat, they are SO nice nd cute!! :3) also, bugs scare me!! :(

  • @SantaFishes101 uhhh... you kindof need to feed them stuff they would eat in the wild... though sometimes you can get them to eat small lizards ;)

really though, mice/rats are considered the best food for a corn snake... They take readily to them, and are inexpensive. You just have to remember that the mice you're feeding to the snake were bred for that, not to be pets... and be a great owner to both animals you own :)

  • Of all the expert village people I've seen on youtube, Cordell is probably the only one I would actually listen to. Good job, and good info

  • I wAs readin some comments and 1. Theres nothing wrong on touchin the stupid mouse like that i do it all the time and neither of my 3 snakes have bit me before.

    2. Once youve had your snake for a while it doesnt freakin matter when you handle your snakes

    3. Poor guy man hes just tryin to help some people out even if he does make some mistakes. You learn throu time wats best for you and your snake

  • Do it the easy way and drop a live one in....

  • how often do they eat?

  • when u say as hot as u can get can u put the water from kettle in there after u boiled the water?

  • i want a pet snake really bad, but i aready have a (very small poodle) dog and a cat.

is there a safe way to have all three?

  • @supercommenter Ya keep iot in a tank.....

  • @DoomsdayKillz thank you captain obvious.

  • @supercommenter Well you asked a retarded question so the answer was stupid. I mean durh you can keep them all but not loose fighitng. I mean common sense/

  • @supercommenter yes....just make sure the snake stays under 6 ft when adult.

  • @supercommenter I have a dog and 2 cats...A corn snake wouldn't be able to do serious harm to any of them. Plus a snake should be in its enclosure so these animals should never be in direct contact?..Aslong as you make sure your snakes enclosure is secure so it cant escape and you only handle it when supervised and no other animals are around there should be no problem

  • defrost?

  • corn snakes :]

  • I just got a baby corn snake who doesnt really want to eat ,i havent gotten feeding tongs but now i will

  • corn snakes are bitch snakes. pythons all the way.

  • @buffguy88 Haha gotta agree some what. I got my pythons and my gf has corns lol

  • To "dethaw"? You want to freeze them? I think you mean thaw.

  • pinkies life meens nothing to me >:0

  • i think the mouse i gave my snake was all the way thawed but how long does it take for a baby corn snake to digested it

  • the mice i buy come in little bags and i thaw em in those

  • "Some may take it hard and fast" Thats what she said.

  • @CornSnakez lmao

  • @lilyallen21

    hehe

  • @CornSnakez LOL ;D

  • @CornSnakez win

  • @CornSnakez

i love that joke ive never gotten slapped when using it around girls lol

    they just laugh lol xD'

  • @CornSnakez Thats what he said.

  • your an idiot dont u just mean thaw

  • you should never touch the mouse. the snake will smell your scent on it and think whenever you touch it you r food too

  • wish theyd feed him to a snake

  • You look like a dog thats had its face shaved...

  • your hair is starting to bug me

  • squishing the mouse in your fingers is gonna get your scent on the mouse. I thaw my mice inside a small plastic baggy. Keeps the scent of the mouse from washing off too.... These are my own opinions, so I might just be overly careful.

  • what is UP with your hair, dude?????

  • Your Not Ment To Put It Into Frozen Mouse In Boiling Water to fee the Snake, it takes away the taste and smell which sometimes means the snake wont eat it because he wont know its food.

  • ah no thats not right i have a corn snake and it can smell it like its perfacly fine i can smell it

  • you have wait 2 days and feed it 1 time a week

  • how much do u need to feed ur snake example every 2 days ever 1 day every 3 days ??

  • how long do you have to wait to hold the snake after its done eatting?

  • 2 days is the recommend time. and make sure not to handle him the day before the feeding as well, less the stress the better the snake will eat

  • loll microwave Ur mouse

  • who dose that??lmao

  • this helps alot

  • hi come see me new vid of me pet snake on Wednesday he gets fed so join me and watch on Wednesday

  • um... what happens when you microwave the mouse?

  • not healthy and it might pop and youll have blood everywhere in the mic

  • ew?

  • how big will a full grown male corn snake grow

  • 25 Feet

  • how much are corn snakes

  • 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000

  • I bought my adult for 50 bucks because she was on sale. Her original price was 69.99. The babies were 35 - 40 I think. I just got her yesterday!

  • I was just wondering, i have a small grass snake ( around 7-8 inches long) and im not sure what to food him, could i feed him grasshoppers/crickets if so. can i feed him with tongs, like this viedo instructs.

  • i would research it if i were you, but if you know thats what they eat, you should maybe get live ones and put them in for it to eat, thats what my friend did with her lizards

  • if there crickets u dont need tongs just throw them in there and when the crickets move around the snake is atracted to the movement and attacks it

  • u no some ppl say feedin rats to snakes r disgustin but a dead rat is no different to a dead chicken or pig....its meat for the snake like us humans eat meat from pigs cows chickens and all that......so yh i really wanna get a snake =]...they r soooo cute and pretty XD

  • cordell jacques

  • whats this guys name, he does pretty decent vids

  • yeah he does i agree

  • Is it okay to feed your snake out of it's cage?

I heard that if you feed a snake out of its cage it will be less likely to ever harm you when handling it.

I am getting a hatchling male reverse okeetee corn snake, so I'm learining all I can about corn snakes so I can be ready for him.

  • definitely feed any reptile that you might be handling out of its cage. but like small animals like anoles I dont bother with only because a couple of them have escaped from me when i was trying to take them out for feeding

  • You're not supposed to handle a snake after feeding.

  • @DylonDaPwner ok really man? 3 month old comments? aight whatever, i never said he should handle it after he fed it, i said feed it out of its cage. you dont put it back in its cage while its swallowing you wait.

  • You're not supposed to handle the snake until 48 hours after feeding.

  • i leave mine to defrost on the side for a day

  • honduran milk snake or corn snake?

  • Its better feeding by hand, just hold the mouses tail and twitch it near their face.

They wont bite your hand dont worry, infact my corn snake strikes gently. :)

  • feeding from the hand is bad as youre scent goes on the mouse so if you handle youre snake alot it will smell youre scent and think there is food on the way and wont make for good handling

  • Depends i hold mine on the tail so it doesen thave scent.

Ive never had a problem, and no one i know who does has.

  • i think corns are the same as us lol each has there own traits and personality so i suppose im just commenting on how my first reacted but like you say everyone is diffrent from the next lol

  • just use chop sticks... or be pro and use your hands. it's dead already who cares?

  • i so u dont get your sent on it you dum ass

  • Feeding Tongs? What a pussy...I just give it to em in from my bare hand.

  • lmao. never microwave a mouse. its a messy situation. loool.

they dont know what safe hot water is. its sposto be warm water and let it sit and completely thaw so the inside doesnt get to hot.

  • i just got a corn snake who is about a year old and i looked at her feeding schedule and on average the pet store would feed her every 25 days. should i keep that schedule or feed her more often

  • feed her more often. why would you buy a snake thats only fed once a month. thats like starving it.

  • dipping it in water actually wont cause digestive problems.

  • i have a corn snake which is about 4 weeks old, he wont eat pinkys on his own or from my hand and i dont know why. got any ideas? the pet store fed him normally on pinkys.

  • there are alot of ways to get your corn snake to eat personally when a corn snake does not eat i "brain" the pinky

  • u gotta let ur snake become used to enviorment he was just moved into...

  • live

  • yum yum i ate one of my corn snakes mice they arnt nice :(

  • the way i tell if its not frozen, i feel the belley, and if its not cold, or stiff (it should be a floppy belley), i give it to my corn

  • I have a albino corn about 9 months old and she eats 2 small pinkies a week. she takes her food very gently but does not hesitate to eat. its probably not the best thing to do but she eats out of the palm of my hand. very calm/ docile great snake

  • my corn denies food, but then i put a live pink in its enclosr [in a cup not on substrate]

  • i have a 2 corn snakes and they all eat the second the mouse is put in its enclosure

  • thanks
