Could this song be about wowaka's songs? Like, about wowaka wanting her songs to reach out to people but she's unsure if the lyrics are being heard? I dunno. Thats what I got out of it...
Your PV is very good, to say the least, but it's not very useful. If someone was trying to use it to sing the song itself, it would be very hard because of the sudden movements of the words that you can't quite keep track of. The effects are good along with the animation, but it's just difficult to read. perhaps if you did the same with subs on the bottom, it would be easier?
Though yeah, I admit, got a bit carried away with encoding the translations. It's yu_i's nature to make these kinds of typography PVs so I just went along with how the effects were done. There are other available PVs out there with and without subs though, so everyone is free to check them out as they please~
This seems like a sequel to Rolling Girl. Think, she says that she's giving up on her one more time, meaning that, in Rolling Girl, she was actually hopeful, but here, she just giving up, and decides to really not breathe any longer. And on the cover of the album Unhappy Refrain, you can see the crescents and stars that are in the original rolling girl picture, AND I think I saw some here, too :D
Does anyone associate this song with Durarara!!, specifically with Kida-kun? Haunting memories, a kid in an adult world? Jeeze, this sounds too familliar.
I see world's end dance hall, rolling girl, building block doll, unhappy refrain, and another one I dont reconize all tangled together. Maybe they each give a little to each other's story?
Also I dont get why everyone thinks this has to do with rolling girl, it doesnt seem like it at all, and it made the connection to rolling girl because wowaka put a whole bunch of his songs in here
I don't think every vocaloid song has to have a story. Some are just describing feelings. This one is like an opposite of Rolling Girl, where the singer decides not to keep trying when they fail. That's all there is to it. :D
@theonewhocomments I'm sure very few don't, I have yet to see one though. But on the bright side, a story along with meaningful lyrics makes the song all the more sweeter. :D
I dunno I've watched this video so many times and tried to find the interpretation and now that I've examined it more it kinda seems like she killed herself but then she says something about seeing it all again so it's kinda like she died then was reincarnated and she went to the guy and he realized it was her O0o... idk that's my own opinion =w="
At first I was sure it wasn't related to Rollin' Girl, and then I wasn't sure...and then I realized that it references all of his other songs too, and now I'm worried: ARE YOU ALL CONNECTED @.@ That would be so confusing
At first I was sure it wasn't related to Rollin' Girl, and then I wasn't sure...and then I realized that it references all of his other songs too, and now I'm worried: ARE YOU ALL CONNECTED @.@ That would be so confusing
Okay, I think that in the end of Rolling Girl, Miku killed herself. Then in this song, the boy that tried to stop her (who I think was her boyfriend) is thinking back on when she was alive and feeling remorse, as i also think that he was one of the ones that started all of the issues in Rolling Girl. Anyway, he started dating the girl in this PV and was trying to forget Miku, but the girl kept reminding him of her, so he killed himself, hoping that wherever he's going is "happy." (AKA with Miku)
I read in the description that this is your interpretation of the song. Does that mean that you didn't translate it and this is just what you think she is saying, or did you actually translate it? I bet you actually did translate it but I just wanna make sure.
this is like the second part of rolling girl she keeps on "rolling" (2:14 - 2:19) until she can't take anymore of the pressure and says she "trips" and falls off a building, hence 1:38 and 3:08 - 3:12 she believes that if she ends it all she would at last be happy, but since she is in love with the boy she's holding back, ( 3:14 )but still gives up and dies
Okay, I really like the music, but I speak less then none Japanese. The English subs moved to much for me to find each time, and then read. If they were in a stationary spot, it would be much easier to understand.
@magpiedragon127 oh LOL yeah, I got carried away with encoding. Pretty much, I think the thought of making it blend in the already messy PV was in my mind back then. Thanks for the feedback! ^^
They were happy for a while and things went their way, but the girl's past kept haunting her to the point where she asks; if this is what real happiness is and if she really is lucky to have him. Then there come a point where they didn't understand the pain and suffering, and the happiness that the other say. The girl then asks "why is this 'happy'" when what she received isn't really rewarding. So tired she gave up. To see him wasn't enough to stop her from breaking down and commit suicide.
(Sorry for the long post, lolz.) At 2:07 the lyrics kind of point to her suicide too and the 2:13 "I tripped, giving up on my one more time" could be jumping off a building too...
@PopPrincesses Though I will not contest your opinion/interpretation of the song, I doubt the girl would be able to jump off a building. (People would spot her immediately.) I'd think it more as she would jump off the Tojimbo Cliff (a scenic spot in Japan where many people come to commit suicide.)
@hoshifura Well in Hong Kong the most common way to kill yourself is jumping off a building because of the tall skyscrapers, but that's a good idea. I've heard of that place, lolz
Does anybody else think that at the end of rolling girl she committed suicide and this is about the guy who's left behind? That's why he has bad dreams about her and tries to understand why she was rolling (is it lucky? spinning round, is it happy). And the only things he has remaining of her are chat logs (1:53). The last chorus is him recalling when she killed herself and what she said "where I go next, will it be happy?" "falling on asphalt and not seeing the end" (she jumped off a building)
I thought this song was about how wowaka meant to vent a message in one of the songs(rolling girl?), but nobody understood, so she/he is trying to get another message from giving up, to trying again, by making another song. o.o
The story I see in this is that Rolling Girl and the boy who saved her from her rolling ended up together, but they weren't happy. The boy is starting to give up, but Rolling Girl, with what he taught her, is saving him from going down the same road she did, and teaches him the meaning of happiness.
@hoshifura I hope one day I could do such beautiful subtitles, with a perfect timing like yours <3 Thanks for subbing videos. I support all of the VOCALOfansubbers. And I am not in for popularity, because in the end, the videos I post are only my interpretations, but again, thank you very much!! O///O
@reallusionful it could mean that the singer is so dizzy from all the stuff going on around her that in her point of view, everything is moving too fast in too-short a period of time and therefore cannot see what she's supposed to see, hence "if i see what i should see, is that lucky/happy?"... at least that's what i had in mind when i was listening to it. XD
@hoshifura yeah, I kinda get that, I was looking for some deeper meaning, if there is any, like what the number means in Japanese culture or is connected to any other songs. Maybe I'm looking to deep into this :P
Thankyou for the subs! I think I kinda get it but Wowaka's song are really deep and it takes me some time to have the meaning actually sink in. Then again that's what I really love about these songs. = w=
I just realized how eargasmic this song sounds with base boost headphones... 8D
@mushmush132 *nods in agreement* that's what made me enjoy subbing this, playing it again and again for *cough* "quality check" while wearing really huge headphones XD
the instrumentals are surprisingly more complex as is it. :D
@werewolf1grl12 wowaka's songs usually take deeper understanding, so it all depends on how the audience absorbs it. this could be about giving up and blaming others, just as how rolling girl is about moving on from the pain despite the mistakes made.

@mushmush132 *nods in agreement* that's what made me enjoy subbing this, playing it again and again for *cough* "quality check" while wearing really huge headphones XD
the instrumentals are surprisingly more complex as is it. :D

WOW wowaka's song are so good, but I can never understand the meaning of them ^^;
werewolf1grl12 9 months ago
@werewolf1grl12 wowaka's songs usually take deeper understanding, so it all depends on how the audience absorbs it. this could be about giving up and blaming others, just as how rolling girl is about moving on from the pain despite the mistakes made.
