Hi Lonewolfone you are thinking of Ingrid Lucia of the Flying Neutrinos and you are in luck as she will be returning to NYC this summer with gigs in June at venues like The Rodeo Bar , check out her website for more details. The Neutrinos are great.
i can't even believe i found this! when i lived in NYC in the late 80's/early 90's i use to go see the "Flying Neutrino's" play their music like every wend. night. they're GREAT musicians and the voice of the lead singer [i forget her name now] was just like Billie Holiday's...and as i remember now, they boated down from Boston [where they were kicked out] and were all living on a boat that was docked off of the [then] defunct and decrepit western docks. i wonder if they still gig out?
This is an incredible story, but also as a documentary filmmaker myself, I understand the hard work, and sifting through 100's of hours of footage that goes into making a cohesive story, this is sometimes overlooked.
Kudo's to the filmmakers and all those involved in knowing "How to turn this into a movie" Its NOT easy. Thank you for this wonderful story, let freedom rein!
This is a great documentary following the life of William David Pearlman (more commonly know as Poppa Neutrino) and his family. Seamlessly splicing many interviews with home videos draws you into his life and teachings in an amazing way.

he is a risk taking looney aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaa
No, he didn't! He was living on his raft, ABSOLUTE ABSOLUTION for a while, planning to go thru the Panama Canal and then make his way along the Gulf of Mexico and on up to the Northeast, but couldn't get crew or $. Now he's in back in Burlington VT, building rafts with some like-minded cohorts to live aboard in Lake Champlain. One of 'em will have a ballroom, a bowling alley, and I think 30 staterooms! Ambition!

Popppa Neutrino isn't crazy he's the equal to freedom. I could Imagen how adventurous and at the same time caotic it must have been.
