I just start to learn ASL recently, am hard of hearing. I can sign some simple words now. I joined a great deaf daing site, ----Deafornot dot c om----, and met some good deaf/HOH friends over there. They help me to learn ASL.

A person who embraces ASL as their primary language will be considered a member of the Deaf community. I find many deaf friends on a Deaf dating site ----Deafornot dot c om---- Good luck to them!!!

@Kauboy84, and whoever gave him a thumbs down: you're allowed to have an oppinion :) i'm hearing, and am surrounded by other hearing kids at school and i don't like it there either :P
For the person asking about SEE,it is Signed Exact English. You can easily google any of these terms and it will pull up the info you want! Just a tip! :)
i am a hearing student and i am starting to learn asl. I think it is a beautiful language and really want to learn more. What is BSL and PSL? and SEE...i keep seeing people talk about it, but i have no idea
owh i thought it was the same...because last time when i was travelling i saw a deaf japanese girl asking for help but the airport attendance cant understand her...luckily there's another deaf malaysian girl went to her...from what i saw they interact with each other very well using the sign language...so i thought it was the same all around the world
@antazoline They were most likely using gestures, or a kind of universal sign that is now in development and progressing.
Most likely gestures. Big difference. ASL and other similar languages have their own grammar and verb structures. With the removal of vocal tones also comes the addition of a large amount of facial grammar -- certain eyebrow movements and other small things will define a type of question or mean certain sentiments.
@plator99 So would an international language that everyone speaks... if only if only. :)
I think it has a lot to do with the culture you're immersed in. What languages you read and what languages everyone else speaks also influence sign languages in countries. It's easier to learn things that make sense and are similar than an entirely different language or verb structure.
actually, that was ASL, or American Sign Language. It's not an international language that can be used anywhere, it was just trying to raise awareness about the Deaf Community and not just in America. Each country has their own sign language and I know that within America, there are multiple dialects just like with spoken English.
Hi, I'm from Russia. I understand the all language to communicate mark are deaf but do not understand half of the deaf in America. :-)

I think PSL is polish sign language, and BSL is British sign language. :) There is a different language in each country.

I don't know if you have found your answer regarding this since you posted this comment but if not SEE is Signed Exact English.

I am surprised an international sign language was never adopted, would come in quite handy for everyone
