Okay, so does anyone know in what movie the sample that says "Do you hear that? The music, up there; do you hear it? There's somebody here!" is? I have found a bunch of SP samples in various movies, I figure someone must know...
I don't know. In Warlock where the guy says "Now is the only thing that's real" is from a REALLY cool speech some guy gave decades ago. I've actually heard the whole thing once & it was very anti-new world order & inspiring... I just can't remember where I saw it. Might've been Burroughs... have to research further.

I believe its a Twilight Zone episode. Black and white series...I believe its the episode where some astronauts (?) land in some weird land and everyone is frozen. Bizarre...Ive noticed alot of sampling from Twilight Zone. Whe ScyFy channel had a marathon many years back had the chance to catch it...awesome
@OhGrGrL Cool, thanks. And now, my follow-up question... Is it James Stewart who says it? Kinda sounds like him; maybe that's just how everybody talked back then...
Im not sure...from what I remember (and it was a few years ago) that he was blond. I also remember from another Twilight Zone episode, the line "My name is Stella. Dont you recongize me?" off of the Rabies album..one of the last songs. Sorry Im not remembering. It is always fun when you find a sampled line in a movie or TV show!
@OhGrGrL No, no, silly, "It's me, your friend, Stella... don't you recognize me?" is from Roman Polanski's The Tenant. Now go watch that movie again. Samples galore! And a pretty decent movie to boot.
OMG.. I used to rock some Skinny when I was DJ'ing for my old College radio in 93.. No body had a clue.. bunch of farmers.. Studio monitors and soundproof rooms are a requirement when listening to this!!
I agree...original and free form for the '80's in a time where most things were regimented. I had some experimental times with medicines and Skinny Puppy was a part of that. Very good times...
synth classics..skinny puppy was sooo apealing to me back in the day...ingenuity, and originality...and the fact that hardly anyone knew them was the best part of it all..these guys definetly didnt follow or care to be "mainstream"..i respect that.
If you guys want the full version of Ain't it Dead Yet with the audio fixed go to downunderground.blogspot.com/2010/02/skinny-puppy-aint-it-dead-yet-87-vhs.html
My step dad saw them in Seattle last month, he invited me I listened to some of their stuff online,I didn't like them because it's very techno I'm not really into that, but everyone has their own tastes and interests, I respect that.
These guys have been kicking ass since 1983 & haven't stopped a day since!!! Even Dwayne's death couldn't keep these guys from being insanely awesome!!! I think Skinny Puppy fans need to rally together & get these guys into the hall of fame!!! Damn do they ever deserve that!!!
@NuclearLullaby dude they truely desever it but not many people have herd of them and theyr mianly undeground but hell to the yes they at least deserve somthing in the hall of fam
@NuclearLullaby SP has its own hall of fame, I was listentening to too dark park last night. Looked at the jacket...its fucking 19 years old. I was 4yrs old when puppy kicked. "what'ya mean what happenened, I just slipped off these damn stairs" Dig it?
@kennedyduck for something like that to EVER happen would be like some sorta major world shift or something,so yeah...probably never going to happen! BUT...SkinnyPuppy totally deserves every once of fame & recognition they get! (which isn't a ton,but it is more then some bands could ever hope to get!)
Absolutely. People don't realize how much of an effect they had on metal & industrial/what I call "electro-metal" ... I'd venture to say they've played a vital role in molding modern metal- so yeah, HALL OF FAME!
Ministry (Al was in Puppy at one time), Nine Inch Nails, Tool (Maynard & Danny have said Puppy influenced them), Fear Factory, Die Krupps & many more electro-metal/ Industrial & Metal...
There's a new "DJ" called Skrillex who sounds like he's a Puppy fan, check it...
