  • classics shots from vijay

  • @franklindani: the second ball was also a no ball....so raina was on strike when vinay kumar bowled the final ball on which the winning run was taken....20th over never started.

  • that ball was also an no ball

  • cool stuff

  • I have the same question. RCB scored 161. CSK need 162. at the end CSK are 166. without last boundary b Raina... CSK are 162. so they won the match. after winning the match, why extra ball ??

if the ball scored 2 runs is a No-ball they scored 3 runs from that ball........

if it is NOT a No-ball, seven balls has balled for the over......

  • this is becoz of new rule, as per the rule for the 2nd no ball, no extra runs will be given apart from runs hitted.

it is explained in the news papers, pls read for further ..

  • Bad Job Youtube with the video quality, don't you understand the economic giant that is IPL!

  • 10 runs from 7 balls @18.5 overs raina hit a six on a no ball

free hit goes for 2 runs still @18.5

    1 run from 7 balls @18.5

All three balls are the last ball of over 19

Effectively Raina hits all three balls because they are the same ball. Hope that is right and helps you.

@sdheepan: The stat graphics at the bottom were wrong, not the umpire. The free hit wasn't a no ball

  • Thats because, Vinay kumar bowled a seven ball over. So raina hit a four on the last ball of the 19th over. The umpire did a mistake.

  • @franklindanl, i agree to your comment. Ganpati should have been on strike at the start of the 20th over. I wonder what rudi was thinking or doing!

  • Can someone please clarify. When chennai needed 10 runs to win from 7 balls - 19.6 raina hit a six and was a no ball. so 3 needed from 7 balls. 19.6 again 2 runs hit by raina - match draw/ end of over. How come raina was on strike on 20.1?? should that not be ganapathy????

  • thats because the 2 was also from a no-ball, meaning they got the 2 +1 for the no-ball (so match was over, but the umpire didnt realise it and asked for another ball which raina hit for a 4..

  • @franklindani this from cricinfo

18.6 Vinay Kumar to Raina, (no ball) SIX,

18.6 Vinay Kumar to Raina, (no ball) 2 runs, Just one more now.

18.6 Vinay Kumar to Raina, FOUR, That's it. CSK have won. Raina went down on his knee to crash a full-pitched delivery past mid-on.

The game was actually over in the fifth ball as it was a no ball. Apparently, scorers tried to get the attention of the umpire but that obviously didn't happen. So we had an extra delivery ... and some confusion.

  • @franklindani First of all there's no 20.1 st Ball !! Its a 20 over game what the hell are you talkin abt ?! Second of all it was not a 19.1 st ball that u tried to intend .. There were three 18.6th ball... 2 No balls in succession . match was over in 19 over.. not 19.1 ...

  • @followuobliss2008 i don't think there were 2 no balls in a row. unlike a wide, where you only have to rebowl that ball, for a no ball in the IPL you have to throw a free hit as well. So last three balls are all the same ball i.e. last ball of the 19th over. read my earlier post in the thread.
