  • Thinking of buying a Multi-Band Radar/Laser Detector.

Wouldn't this be a better buy, than to buy a Radar/Laser jammer? Isn't the jammers a little... well... risky to use? I mean, isn't it safer to just use the detectors?

I just don't want the cops to get suspicious... ;)

  • @Sjark92 They are both safe to use, right???

  • Thanks for the crash course Roy!

  • Radar roy is my new BEST FRIEND!.lol.. He's the bowss!! Save me a bunch of money like GYCO.

  • thats a cool ass ex cop to tell us all that info

  • great to know!!

  • Good info!

  • damn i bet half of my comments didnt go through

  • I have an outstanding question.....Is laser jamming illegal in Canada?

I have not been able to find the answer.

    Thnx

  • Good stuff Roy!

  • Can't a LEO just write a ticket using his "professional" visual speed estimate?

  • @fourtwentytexas

I live in Vancouver, BC and I got a speeding ticked based on the cop's visual estimation. In court, the judge totally dis-considered my argument that a speed reading device was not used. By the cop's own admission, he did not have the sufficient time to take out and use the speed detection device (he was on a motorcycle but parked). The judge said he is satisfied with the visual estimation of a police officer with over 10 years in traffic law enforcement.

  • @CriTacticalDriver Should had did the old "toss the tennis ball" to the officer in court and asked him to estimate the speed. Guesstimates typically don't hold up in court, too bad we didn't have this judge impaneled on the Casey Anthony trial.

  • great wealth of information. Thank you Roy!

  • hope it stays this way

  • radar roy is the man

  • Good info.

  • I'm surprised a lot of people don't know that RD's are legal in most states.

  • Very informative

  • What laser jammer would you recommend?

  • what are the consequences for having a laser jammer in states that they are illigal in?

  • Radar Roy....was that a Harry Potter reference at 7:03 ? hahaha

  • I'm wondering if Veil is illegal in states that ban laser jamming.

I don't speed excessively anyways, just don't want to get popped in one of those rare moment when I'm speeding to pass someone, or I'm just not paying attention.

  • if you put VEIL on your license plate and move out of state and therefore change plates sometime in the future, can authorities detect the presence of VEIL on your plate and come after you?

  • @pete5668 What would they come after you for? Not illegal

  • @radarroy That's good. I thought it would be defacing the plate or something. Thanks!

  • u didnt mention colorado on ur list but it was red on the map i live in colorado so i am curious about the laws thx for the responce

  • @5:13 "I'd like to thank the guys at Lidar for making this really gay...great map"

  • @kg9689 hahahaha

  • Is the VEIL product similar to the paint on military planes that are designed to not be visible on whatever it is that you detect a plane on? I've always wondered about the paint on planes like the SR-71 blackbird and how that paint might make a car more "covert". Maybe the guys painting their cars matte black are onto something...

  • @gearheadd318 no it is not similar, this is a product for laser, not radar

  • No Blinder M-27/47 plug ? I use this with the V1 works great !

  • can you turn off the jammer quickly/easily once you slow down?

  • I'm sorry this might be rude but... I noticed one of your ears is kind of not like the other ear.. did you injure yourself or is that just how your body structure is? I feel like I'm not the only one that's wondered this... what happened?

  • @SCHIZOPHRENlC Injured in the line of duty when I was a cop

  • @SCHIZOPHRENlC Injured in the line of duty when I was a cop

  • @radarroy damn, that's badass. haha

  • look it's OB1 Conobie. Sure Roy knows about Laser's and Tractor Beams.

  • Thanks roy you got some great stuff.

    85mph in a 55mph

    Lasar Sheilds are the best

    Saved my ass!!!!!

  • ok my car is black with HID lights, is it possible that my radar Passport 8500 X50 ( Blue) detect the police officer's laser gun before the laser gun can read my speed even if I were to use VEIL on my headlights and the license plate?

  • @hernanr18 depends on other factors such as the total reflectivity of other areas of your car. I would still recommend a laser jammer

  • Comment removed

  • To make a blanket statement regarding how Veil would protect YOUR car is impossible. It all depends on how reflective your car is. If is is black and you have a small footprint you could almost JTG, however if it is white and lots of chrome, Veil maybe able to protect you for only a few feet

  • hey radar roy I have a question for u, is that possible to detect a laser gun situated at 1/4 of mile (1320 feet) using a ESCORT Passport 8500 X50 (Blue)?

  • when ur detector shows you a laser gun detection , that MEANS its tooooooooo late to detect it and consider urself pulled over ;)

  • my rmr c450 works very well

  • That is what I recommend during this video buy saying when the jammer actives slow down and turn the unit off

  • Couldn't you use a laser jammer in illegal states by just shutting it off when you slow down to a suitable speed?...I mean as long as the officer gets punchthru, it shouldn't be a problem. Also, even if he doesn't get punchthru and you jam him all the way until you pass, he still has to prove you used a jammer in the first place and he can't pull you over to check, because he didn't get your speed so there's no probable cause...right?

  • Probably cause is a very subjective thing in this case. State law may give the officer PC to stop you as jamming approved law enforcement equipment may be against the law. If the system is installed discreetly and punchthru takes place during the merge, then he would have to move on to other vehicles. One could program the jammer to shut off automatically after a few seconds.
