@Bennie449 Modeling is supposed to reflect the 'real world'. (From what I gather. I'm not a modeler).

I am however a railroader. And yes indeed, boxcars moving with doors open is against the rules. And that rule is violated all the time. So if you are modeling reality...you would model boxcars moving with open doors.

@wesolint I was switching a paper complex one evening and had a door do just that. We were switching a bit hard and when the locomotive stopped the cut the door just slid right down the tracks and off the car.  I was about 100 feet away, but let me tell you that 100 feet seemed to be about 6 inches at the time.

BTW, how did you install the working beacons in your units. I have a bunch of BN units I need to add beacons too, and would like to get operating.

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I should do a "how to" vid as I get a lot of questions about them.

Basically I core out a Details West (or Associates) beacon, fit a Minitronics 1.5v bulb inside, build a circuit for it, and then wire it to a decoder. All that's left to do is program a cv to make it work. Very generic instructions I know but that all I have room for here.

It's a generic snowshed built by one of the club members who models the Great Northern so I guess it could be Marias Pass.

Ya, and then that scheme shifted to about 3 0r 4 others till we got the swoosh BNSF, in the span of 10 years or so. that probably cost a bunch. GP-38 #2075 was the first one to display the logos of the fallen flags until it caught fire, then pacific pride became #2085.

Introduced on the SD60 in the photo, the "Tiger Stripe" scheme was used mainly on the GP50s purchased in the late 1980s. Besides the 3 EMD SD60 demo units, there were only a few other engines outside the GP50 class to wear it. At about $5,000.00 cost per unit to paint, it was deemed too expensive and the "white face" scheme was introduced in the early 1990s.

I have a digital camera (Sony Cybershot) and I process the clips thru Windows Movie Maker. I edit in real trains sounds.

Thanks. Some of the loads are from Walthers (plastic) and some are from Jeager (wood blocks with wrapped paper).

Also the first 2 cars on train 100 are Model Die Cast bulkhead flats with pre-fabricated loads from Athearn.

excelent..5 SP and cotton belt boxcars in a row without one word of graffiti on them.The SP dicks are doing their job,or maybe the cars just left Gunderson..or maybe BN quickly repainted them..whatever nice job scary monster.I expect a DVD soon..without graffiti

I really enjoy the TAA series. All of them were great; looking forward to future episodes. The sounds, the awesome scenery, the highly detailed rolling stock, great camera angles, etc. really takes the hobby to an entirely new level.

Trains 100, 11, and 101 are BN trains on my episodes of this series. What mtrails and chessie4155 use will depend on their railroads. Just the freight cars that started on the SP (14 of them) and the NYC boxcar I added, will make it to chessie-land. The trains I film westbound, just give you an idea that things move in both directions. We could do a never-ending car swap, but probably won't.
