  • I'm a 24 year old female Aspie as well and I also have problems looking after myself. I don't think of eating or drinking or cleaning or anything like that unless I'm reminded to. Combining that with hypersensitivities, phobias, social problems and an inability to prioritise means I'm more likely to starve than to go to the local shopping centre if left to my own devices. It would be nice to be able to be more independent but I'm lucky to have a loving and supportive Mum.

  • PLEASE check out a great Children's book about Autism, PDD and ADHD called 'Why Is He Different?' (Please spread the word about this unique book, tell your friends and if you like you can tell me what you think about it. Big thanks!!). You can preview it on youtube profile called Monalisaknew. Just copy and paste the following sentence in youtube search window: 'Why Is He Different? (Autism Book)'

You can also buy this book on AthsePublishing(dot)com. Thank You !!

  • Well put!! Wow!!

  • i have autism i was diagnosed with autism when i was in 5th grade

  • i ws disgnosed with AS at age 9 or 10 but now somehow i can socialize as well as any1 else and i dont find my AS causes me any problems. And I consider myself 2 b quite a capable individual(self flattery). i used 2 get some special help with stuff but not in years now and im still only 15 n getting better evryday(not cured). im still an aspie who flaps my hands...but my disabilities r totally gone

  • Thats actually not true for all people with aspergers. My boyfried/ex/not sure what we are now lol) has this condition, and hes capable of taking care of himself. He just is a little akward in social situations, and is very uncordinated lol. but he is amazing and i love him, but this is not always the case.

  • True. It's not the same situation with all of us. I can take care of myself, but I have difficulty finding/keeping jobs and I have ZERO social life (except for fellow aspies in my support group). My habits and mannerisms are very awkward.

  • Thank you!

  • I love to hear from people who really know what this is like rather than reading it out of a textbook or internet site. Thanks. =)

  • Well put!

  • Excellent video.

  • Now this video is better
