  • KSNT TV online: Fund Set Up For Chapman School District. A fund has been set up in Chapman for monetary donations to help their school district rebuild after last week's devastating tornado. You can send checks to the Astra Bank in Chapman. The address is PO Box 189, Chapman, Kansas, 67431. You should make the checks payable to the USD 473 Chapman School's Tornado Relief Fund. District officials say school will begin in the fall, although in temporary locations.

  • My family and I live in Redbud, and this was very scary for us because we never heard the sirens. What we heard was the tornado. My hearts go out to everyone who lost property/lives from this storm. And my heart goes out to the Chapman victims. Thank you Iggy for this video it really touched me and my family.

  • Dang it, forgot to sign out on my husbands account, oh well. I didnt realize he had already posted.

  • That was one of our first thoughts the next day; bad as it may have been, how much worse if it hit Redbud? And if the sirens weren't audible... better call the city and let them know that! Thanks for the kind words!

  • my wife is moving to redbud estates with my lil girl on friday and i'll be there in two weeks whn this deployment is over!

  • Monetary donations can be mailed to the City of Chapman Disaster Relief Fund, c/o City of Chapman, 402 N. Marshall, Chapman, Kansas 67431, for more information call Chapman Police Department 785-922-6463

  • This is legit, for those folks who want to help out... best to ya and go Fighting Irish!

  • Who sings that?

I ran for the shelter. luckily, I only

    lost a few limbs.

  • Drive-By Truckers. I hope you meant TREE limbs...

  • Love the slideshow it's one for the record books and great job on the pics people. They are an awsome example of how ironc the situation is when a wall is gone and the bookcase next to it isn't touched. We live in JC and were lucky we got jumped over. However, Manhattan is like a second home to us and we were devistated to see what had happened.

  • I wasn't sure I wanted to watch this cause it is my neighborhood but I am grateful I didnt recieve as much damage as others and I now have power and most of my roof although it was hard to see my child's gymnastics place destroyed. It breaks my heart. I pray for all of those who had loss that day.

  • Great video. I've been out here in Phoenix for the last 2 years, but I'm from the Manhattan area originally. I worked at KSU for 4 years so I feel like I have a connection with that place. It's just devastating to see all the damage that a tornado can cause. My heart goes out to all of you who may have suffered any damage or lost your home in its entirety.

  • Thank you for making this vid, it touched me and my family. Was a close call for us. Life changing experience, that i will never forget.

  • nice job on the slideshow. I have one of a train derailment from Danville, I Should post it also. Thanks for shareing your hometown with the rest of us.

  • hey, pretty cool.

I took about half of those pictures though

  • Nice work, Drew... yeah, I lifted them from the Mercury - some are Rod Mikinski's, the others submitted by the public - others from KMAN Radio's website.

  • wow that's amazing.. @ 1:50 an entire wall of the house missing & all the books are still on the book shelf

  • Thank you for putting this up. I'm a KSU alumni and for almost 4 years that was my home. I will always have a connection with the town, university and community. It's so sad to see the destruction, homes leveled, buildings damaged, and random debris in yards and parking lots. It's a very humbling sight.

  • I wasn't near this one but June 8, 1966 our family was under matresses while our Browning Ave. house had the roof lifted and the front wall blew away - the last big Manhattan tornado, same day Topeka was devastated. Weirdly I had found pix of that and been showing them to friends just a couple days before this one hit.

  • nice job. b
