Here's little secret that I'll share. One of the best cups that I've found is the laundry cup you get with the big jug with a spigot. I found that the cup covers a lot of frequencies well...from a C to a low D.
Dude you are the man, I've always loved the distinct sound this instrument makes. And i was going to get one and now am for sure. Thanks for the insperation.
hey how can i e-mail you/ im just starting on my golden melody (C) thanks for showing us this awesome stuff. ur awesome i wanna be like you when i grow up
i went to a local brew house and there was a blues band playing (the dude with the harmonica was actually using something that looked like a brandy glass). the band did in fact have to bring the volume down just a bit. you rock my friend, keep it up ^_^
That's really sweet! I wish I could play an instrument. That looks like such fun. :D Thanks for the lesson...I'll have to try it even though I can't play. lol.
I've messed around with glasses and other things... What works real good: 1. aluminum beer bottle (not a can) with the neck cut-off (sand the edge so it's not sharp); this has thicker gauge aluminum than a can and will not crush very easily. 2. large tube-type prescription plastic bottle, about 2" in diameter (mine are about 5 inches long); I cut the bottom off of one and my Shaker Retro-Rocket bullet mic fits nice and snug in the end of it.
If your playing lee oskar harmonicas or shitty ones. thats why.. try putting on some chap before u play.. Gives a bit more lube for playing. stops sever rubbing get a good one!
what kind of harmonica is that please reply just started and that one sounds like my style

I sometimes play into a children's plastic toy spring echo microphone and then amplify it through a real microphone with full reverb.

forgot to say... I like the aluminum bottle and plastic bottle because they will NOT break like glass... and my glass usually has beer in it ! :)
