What really bugs me is that there isn't a replay of the complete race anymore, just the little bits within the race, that I've turned off, because they are so distracting..

Without replay it spoils the fun to tune the cars optically I think.

And, no matter how fast and good you drive, in the black edition the cops will get you. That's just not fair!!

There is a little difference. First, there is more bonus cars you can get on the black edition. Second, there is a couple of extra quick races(ex. NFS world loop.) third, there is a few extra vinyls you can select in shops/my cars. Forth, there is an extra challenge series event( Event #69) Lastly, there is usually a dvd that comes with it, showing how it was made. Besides this, all other things(cheats/glitches) are the same as the first one. hope this helps you a lot.

Black edition is definitely worth it. You can take on a pursuit challenge to get 500,000 bounty against condition 7 supercharged heavy SUV's. Hard to do, but took me one try. If you have normal version of the game, I've seen a lot of links for the Black Edition patch.
