The true Story is that Kopa is alive just not put in the movies they decided to put a girl so its not like Simba number two! Actually, if you look it up on wikipedia, there are rumors, that Zira was exiled for murdering Kopa, cause you can see Kopa with all of the other cubs from the outlands as well as the ones from the pridelands. This would also explain the reason as to why Simba is so protective of Kiara and why Kopa was not in the second movie when he was in the first one.

Well, as a Kopa fan, it would be an interesting and reassuring thought that Kopa managed to escape Zira's plan's to murder him. An artist that goes by the name Aikachi02 on Deviantart, has a rather fabricated and believable theory, that Nuka (the son of Zira and Scar) confronted Kopa about these plans of his assassination. Nuka explained to Kopa to run away from the Pridelands to find a rouge lion. Kopa runs away and never returns to the Pridelands... So they say.

What I think is that when Kopa lost his best friend Afua (another lion cub, some and myself believe the son of Chumvi and Kula)to a cheetah cub named Beba, Kopa ran into Nuka and the two young cubs became quick friends. Although Nuka was the son of the two very neurotic and vindictive (Scar and Zira) he was not yet completely corrupt. When Nuka found out about his mother's assasination plans against his new found friend, Nuka warned Kopa.

But another interesting theory (sad and depressing albeit) is that Zira accomplished her plot to kill the kings son and heir. After the death of his son, Simba banished Zira and the other lionesses that believed Scar the true king, to the Outlands. This could most easily explained the fact that Simba is a rather over protective father, and disallows Kiara to venture anywhere near the Outlands. This can also tie into what Kovu ment by "Or am I to be blamed for a crime I didn't commit?".

I've become quite facinated with the whole Kopa/6 new stories thing, I was looking it all up Wikipedia yesterday. Judging by the 6 stories and all the story theorys I've heard, I think Disney had the potential to make The Lion King into an epic saga spanning 3 or 4 generations, instead of making the sub-par Lion King 3.
