if anyone could repley what carnivouris (bad spelling) plant do you think would work the best at keeping bugs away sundew nepenthe flytrap or cobra lilly
very cool! i've been trying to get my hands on these for a long time but never could. any tips on getting one please? oh and what would happened if someone drank the liquid inside it?
you can get these in Sarracenia northwest they still sell them but small like pitcher up to 3-6inches but they still good, oh and if you drank the liquid you can get sick by the bacteria in the pitcher
Wrong. It contains enzymes which digest the trapped insect. It wouldn't burn or likely be strong enough to affect a finger or something human like that.
This is basic information you would have got from watching any of the 100 videos on this plant. Brudof was obviously just pulling it out his ass.
can someone make a vid of wat it looks like inside it. and can someone tell me wat it feels like when u put ur hand in it. also the description makes me think those plants r alot more dangerous. lets put of a sigh saying beware of sun dews. THAT MEANS U WASPS!
Putting your hand in this, or any other pitfall carnivorous plant like pitcher plants, does nothing more than wet your hand. The digestive enzymes work very slowly. Insects drown and form a slow-release fertilizer for the plant. They don't digest like animals with strong acids, they use very weak acids and enzymes.
Actually sun pitchers and a few other plants are more of "Digestion by proxy" which means the water contains no or a tiny bit of enzymes. The plant collects it from rain. The bug is digested by bacteria and other microorganisms. That takes longer.
Do you know how to care for it? the biggest thing is that you keep it soaked with good humidity dapplled light or direct morning sun and bright light. Another nessecity is that you give it warm days and nights in the 50s or 60s farenheight. He advised me before to only feed it small food such as a couple of ants now and then until it acclimates toyour climate and will eat more. Ive had one for about 2 months and its only gotten amoth and some ats but its doing great despite my afuly low humidity

There is no getting out, each new attempt must be exhausting trying to climb the almost vertical slippery wall.
