  • Girl!! I made my grits using your recipe this morning and I am in love. These are the best grits I ever tasted/made.

  • I luv grits.... if I have leftover gravy from dinner the night before I will have grits & gravy for breakfast MMMM!!

  • YUMMMS! I love grits, damn I miss my carbs =P

  • The ending was funny! Does your brother-in-law always carry that costume when he visits? Or...was it a costume? LOL

I'm from the South too. Grits is very versatile. You can spice it up any way you like, or make it sweet. Baking it with cheese (mixed in or sprinkled on top) was popular too. I haven't had grits in years now!

  • I miss grits. I need someone to send me about 25 lbs of them.

  • what are "grits"? Thank you and many greetings from germany

  • @sternchen1965st Oats, I think is "Hafer" in Deutsch.

  • @sternchen1965st Grütze :)

  • @sternchen1965st they are a ground corn product much like polenta but coarser.

  • mmmm, i watched it on facebook and now on youtube, lol. i like to cook mine for bout 20 min. to get that smooth texture as well as creamy! good one!

  • My grandma used to me yellow grits

  • I LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE GRITS

  • Lord, I shall not watch your vids knowing darn well I am on a diet!

  • I put sugar in mine

  • Thumbs down! Sorry, grits are nasty!

  • @IrisMG Iris!!! what is this atrocious word you speak of!!!!??? Nasty?? Girl grits are a bowl of creamy comfort...

  • @divascancook I know - Southerners swear by their grits, and my Southern mother used to make me gag with that stuff and I used to pretend to eat it and spit it out when she had her back turned. I couldn't even finish watching this video. None for me, thanks! :-(

  • @IrisMG LOL I know what you mean, I use to feel the same way about cream of wheat.

  • @divascancook I love cream of wheat or malt o meal. My husband calls it "ghetto, public aid food". Hey, I love it still. I'm still trying to wrap my head around eating grits. You may be the reason why I try it. Your recipe makes it look inviting! ;-)

  • @IrisMG Chile, with some fish..yum yum...

  • @MissKesha832 No.

  • @IrisMG Ok lol :-)

  • @IrisMG hahaha too funny, I have a gf whose mama would chop up hot dogs, spam and throw it in grits. I brought in some grits to work one day and she saw how creamy and buttery I made them and she said, "Those don't look anything like my mama grits.". But I could tell she still wanted to gag. LOL!

  • @annettemint IKR? For some of us, it simply isn't in the cards for us to like mealy textured foods! We're allowed.

  • @IrisMG Then why did you click to view a video that says, "Creamy Breakfast Grits Recipe" if it's so nasty?

  • @Brezchette First of all, grow up. Second of all, I actually subscribe to this channel and see all of her videos that she uploads. And I comment on it because the Diva Monique invites all comments good or bad. This channel is not just for people who like the food. Maybe she wants to learn what's popular and what's not. Got it?

  • @IrisMG Saying, "Thumbs down. Sorry, grits are nasty!" isn't something she can learn from and just because she welcomes negative comments doesn't give you the excuse to use it. If you don't have anything nice to say then just shush that's the mature thing to do. There is a recipe that she made that I don't like myself so I didn't click it simple as that. It's clear as day what the video is, Just read what the title stats Period. Got that?

  • @Brezchette First of all hello and thank you for bringing this up again. Second, Monique didn't have a problem with my comment, as indicated by her response, and knows how to message me if she does. Finally, the fact that I don't like grits, will never like grits, and you do? I don't give a damn. That you like all her recipes? That either. Yes, I could have just thumbed down without comment, but I guess you don't get to decide which path I choose. Got that?

  • @IrisMG Just by you saying,"I don't like grits, will never like grits, and you do? I don't give a damn." Is exactly what I'm talking about, grits is in the title why click it? No one wants to come to a video & see a comment saying "Grits are nasty!" When the title already explains what the video is. That's like I go to a video that says carrots & knowing that I can't stand them I click it anyways like a dumb ass just to post a negative commit? That would be very immature of me to do.

  • @Brezchette If you want further argument, I can message you if you wish.

  • @IrisMG I don't have to keep messaging you from this point what I said is the end of this. You can keep talking to a wall for all I care but you now know what you did was wrong. Keep making up excuses all you want for your ignorant actions, but from this point on you're blocked. Buh Bye :)

  • @Brezchette This is a food channel, not a fan club. You've got far more time to waste than I do if you're this worked up over grits. Your block doesn't work.

  • @IrisMG You can continue to keep talking to yourself because I couldn't care less what you have to say from this point. You're obviously to immature to realize what you did was childish and If I did have to much time on my hand what does that say about you replying to my messages? If you really felt like you did nothing wrong you wouldn't even feel the need to keep replying, so that lets me know you've realized and hopefully grew up some.

  • @IrisMG Now, by that being said I'll be the mature one here and just ignore/block you from this point on. Good day :)

  • @Brezchette Finally.

  • Delish! Did he say "We got no buttersalt?!" LOL

  • Oh you just make hungry all the time

  • OMG...that ending was too funny...caught me off guard.

  • Yummy

  • "We ain't got no butter or salt", lol.

  • My favorite meal of the day.....breakfast. I gotta try this recipe.

  • fat-free half-n-half? say it ain't so

  • That's how I make mine too honey delicious!

  • Those look so creamy and delicious! I'm obsessed with grits right now ;)

  • @averagebetty Thanks hun! Me too! Especially with cheese, green onions and bacon...heaven!

  • That Ending Was the Icing on the Cake.>LOL hes to funny! You just made my day ;-)

  • LOL! Thanks looks yummy. Girl I will be at your house! LOL

  • where is the video for the fried apples and hashbrowns???

  • Whoa...i eat grits all the time...i never thought to use heavy cream....THANK GIRL!

  • That was my brother-in-law at the end. He's a trip!

  • omg the ending scared me! lol so funny.

  • @ikkinnikk LOLL

  • Why aren't your videos showing up on my timeline? I'm missing out :(

  • @ikkinnikk Oh no! we gotta fix that!

  • creamy grits can also be achieved by cooking them a long time & constantly stirring... i just made some a 1/2 hr ago an and they were the bomb.com... you must watch the pot and stir stir stir and then stir some more and i cook mine for at least 30 minutes with just grits water & salt... then i let everybody add their own amount of butter...

  • @123sherylin

oooohh... i just noticed you said 5min grits... nevermind then... LOL

  • This is how we do it in tha south honey! LOVE UUUU
