yes John09 but there are good sites about sharks on the net too. try the likesharks site. type likesharks into google and it should be the 4th or 5th result. the site has lots of info videos and pictures on each species and different reports about shark attacks etc

Huh. I don't get it. Sharks will cannibalize each other, and they're also not opposed to eating already dead meat, as evidenced by the hordes of great whites that munch on whale carcasses. So if they eat each other and they eat the dead, why would the scent of dead shark repel them? I wonder if maybe the sudden high-pressure release sound/feel from the aerosal can is actually what did it. I don't think they would have all scampered if they had thrown an actual piece of dead shark in there.

i have my own shark repellent, im an avid spearfisherman and we just use the butt of our spearguns when they come to try to take our fish a nice pop in the nose, eyes, or gills they leave you alone

I can think of replicating this experiment with, say

-the original white coloured Shark stank

-a white coloured ODORLESS placebo

-a transparant SHARK ODOR variant

-a transparent, odorless placebo (just bubbles)

-Chanel no. 5 variant

Then they can see if it truly is the rotten shark smell of the grenade which causes the effect, another factor (the bubbles, the colour) or a combination of effects.

And yeah, try all those with the big sharks that prey on the lil' ones : D

OK first of all the shark they used was DEAD because it got caught in a fisherman's net! GEEZ they are trying to save the sharks and the stuff they got from the one dead shark can be used for a lot of repellent not just for one time.. the only thing is that they said dont get the tip wet until u want the sharks to go away this wont work for swimmers because the tip would get wet.. but i suppose for fisherman or spear fisherman should have sum one on the boat and they could throw it towards the water.. or a life guard could throw it in the water.. still many flaws but when solved would be a great invention
