They should make more beautifull buildings with the same kind of architecture like the Empire state building and the Flat Iron building. I really don't like this ugly sci-fi buildings that would ruin the true face of NYC.
@m057miros Well 2 WTC will stop at grade level indefinetely until the economy fully recovers and he can get the loans he needs to build 2 WTC, and so will 3 WTC if Silverstein doesn't find major tenants, otherwise that will stop at grade level too or they will just build only the podium and use it for retail. The only projects that are aimed for completion are 1 WTC, 4 WTC, The National 9/11 Memorial And Museum, The WTC Transportation Hub, and the Vehicular Security Center.
Libenskinds Design looked way better- if he would have filled in the top piece of the building instead of leaving it empty-it would have been perfect. It was very modern NYC looking and asymmetrical- this design is not ugly- but not tall enough and theres really know crowning to the building- the Chrysler looks better and was built almost a century ago! We are really regressing...but in the end will b more beautiful than now anyways...
@MrAntny5 Libeskind's designs were a joke. I cannot believe they would accept such a design for the New World Trade Center, but then again they really supported the master plan not as much though the actual design. I'm relieved they changed the designs for each tower but it will never be the same, not after what happened. I'm sure the new one will be nice when it is complete
@Zuel6565 I hope to God 9/11 never happens again. Then again 9/11 shouldn't have happened in the first place and the Twin Towers should have still been there. Well, the Base began back in August 2009 and it finished in February 2010 so it took some time to construct. The Foundation actually took 2-3 Years to build and reach past grade level.

Look at The Pentagon, a building with steel and concrete and the portion that was hit collapsed as if it were nothing.

these new towers contrast with the 70's/80's skyline of NY. but it's a nice contrast, shows advancement in the city.

So far 1 WTC aka Freedom Tower is under construction and so is 4 WTC. 2 & 3 are on hold until a final decision is made on when they should get built.
