  • unlike other players, federer doesn't seem to be rotating his hips when he serves. You can see that from the fact that his toes are pointing sideways at the moment of impact.

  • @ryanrenesis A foot fault is when the player touches the line during their service motion, before and during contact with the ball. By your logic, if a foot fault occurs when a player touches the line only when they make contact with the ball, they could just stand a metre from the net and serve, as there is nothing stopping them from stepping on the court before contact.
