How the fuck does this thing have a third of dislikes? Seriously? With all the shit that gets shoveled at us in terms of fight scenes, we get one that seems to depict talented athletes executing visceral choreography in long cuts, and a third of the people shit on it? But the fucking awful fight scene from Limitless has 3 in 167 people disliking it? I just ... don't get this world sometimes.

@Poptometry I agree SO MUCH. It's sad. The Haywire fight scenes are great. In this post-Michael Bay world, people don't seem to understand the appeal of crisply, clearly shot action anymore, be it a fight, car chase, etc. It's as if, on a base level, large portions of the population just can't get excited if there's not MTV-style rapid-fire editing or extreme closeups or booming, metal-lite music.

What's cool here is the total lack of jump cuts or fast edits to fake fighting skill. Carano isn't a graceful fighter, a la Tony Jaa or Bruce Lee, she's more of a brawler (like Sonny Chiba). Still the frisbee plate aside, this sequence is entirely more believable than any of Scarlett Johanson (Iron Man 2), Angelina Jolie (Salt), or hell even Matt Damon (Bourne Trilogy) action sequences in recent films. I hope it's a trend.

She used her elbows to defend against the cutlery box . She had the time to perfectly throw the tray full force. He was running away . He got hit on the back of his head . Took him by surprise , thats why he feel down. He didnt got knocked out . Besides , she is a professional fighter . I am betting she took way more punishment in her career than a box to the elbow .
