What better device to have at that house party you turn up to and everyone says 'hey, you're the DJ...sort it out!' NOW WE CAN. I just got one recently and it's an incredible machine and for the price £300 it's an absolute bargain.
i told you guys 2yrs ago, mobile shit is gonna come out to take over...while u guys are fighting over CDJ over PCDJ...duh, check this guy's old video where i had comment on it
Load up some Samples, Acapellas, etc.. and your good to go !! Besides that... I like to see a Dj mixing on something bigger than his hand. (Would you like watching Metallica do a gig on iTouches ?)
I Agreeeeee man, on the way home from college on the bus n train I have NOTHING to do, a pacemaker would be brilliant. But when I get home, I'd much prefer to go up on my turntables.
great thoughts and analogies! this video alone made me subscribe! as i am an aspiring DJ and sound-producer, all of these types of videos and technology is very helpful and great! i hope to get a Korg Kaossilator and Electribe very soon and a mixer would be great as well. Edirol makes a great, 10-channel portable mixer, for DJ'ing on the go and it's battery powered!
the pacemaker is sum brilliant bit of kit but its is true what this guy said vinyl will not be taken over there the better for mixing. cdj's also. but a proper dj plays wiv vinyl as it was the first way 2 do it and the old skool way to do it.....yea hardcore til i die yeaaaaaahhhhhh...
You are an awesome fellow, very useful and entertaining. A lot of people show off the effects of pacemaker, is it actually any good for mixing? Tbh that's all i'm really interested in
See if people thought about things like this guy here, there wouldnt be as many problems in this world we live in. So props to u Johnathan, for having an open mind which I think is the essence of being a true DJ.
I should have done this a long time ago. Now I'm finally subscribing to your VIDEOS. (I just seem to have forgotten.) Thanks for the input and for helping me making the right choice. :)
dj's rule the world! and i do think that future dj products like the pacemaker, will take over the tables as we know them... the world is changing very fast people! now imagin for a moment if u will, if u were a dj,would u rather cary around all that heavy equip/vinyl? or a small handheld dj tool that uses small SD cards that have all ur music on them... the answer is ovious.
Hi. Im using traktor with faderfox(a midi-gadget) as a foundation of our live-performances in my band. I was wondering what you think about if i should get a pacemaker, as a backup, if my computer or software malfunctions at a gig?
Or would it be better to buy some not so expensive cd-players? If so then what? If i buy a pair of CDj's then i might as well get a second macbook for the same amount of money. :)
What do you guys recon, if I wanted to start djing and havnt had any experiance of it before; Should I get a pacemaker or a pair od cd-jays and a mixer? Whats best for learning?
I was actually looking for something like that for a while now... Something that would allow me to play my digital music collection without the need for extra CDjz in the booth; the reason is I don't have the CDjs@home and I'm not used to mix with CDs :P But the MAIN REASON IS that I like to mix combo sets. So this gadget would sure come in handy during the performance. And NO !!I wont go &buy CDjs As this is sooo much more fuuuun and "techno-ish" +it supports losless FLAC What more do U want
the real djs will still use decks, but when they are on the plane bus taking a shit, and just want to mix this is for you I might get one but I will never play live with that.
I think they're great, I wouldn't mind having one.. but obviously not as an alternative to a proper set-up. I'd like to be able to plug it into a little stereo out camping or something and be able to do little mixes.
spot on!! I fully agree, Its also great because for some folks money is a key issue, true is got a big price tag, Now.. But so did computers when they first became an open market item, like many things for that fact.. Im sure other companies have it and have already began making their own mini-compact..
The joy of it is, that now no matter where you live, u can learn the fine art of DJ-ing..
Or practice while ur at work, or out doing whatever! Where-ever!
Johnathan as much as i agree with you i have a problem with this devic...its great, and many djs will embrace but you kno as well many punks are gonna take this thing to a gig, do some simple fades and think they are a dj, not aware of the price but im guessing its cheaper then a dj setup...its sad how ppl never get the idea of a a product and just ruin it..my 2 cents
KP, are you in some way threatened by the fact that more people are going to be able to DJ now because of this unit? Embrace the technology mate and stop worrying about everyone else crashing "your" party...

Fair call and my apologies for misreading your last post! :-) It's a hobby for me too... One thing I've learned about music and DJing (ten years as a hobby) is that there are no short cuts to being any good - irrespective of the technology. that's because in order to be able to play well you need to invest time into listening to music and developing your taste and style - and that is something that can never be replaced by technology and will always differentiate a good Dj from a crap one.
technology is amazing! What's next? Who knows!... perhaps an electronic device that can read your mind! Imagine getting that tune out of your head onto digital format where anyone could play it!!!LOL
lol i was thinking the exact same thing about the bus.
i think a bit of practice with that thing would make it a lot of fun. I'd certainly have one rather than my ipod. i can plug the ipod into my truck cd player, so we listen to music all day that way.
how much more fun would it be to plug the pacemaker into the cd player (easy via the headphone jack) and mix all day long. a year ago or so, b4 the pacemaker, we tere thinking of ways to bring cdjs with us. pacemaker would be so much easier!!!
to andreasm, Funny! Vinyl, plastic, wax, bananas, ladies knickers, amfibious landing craft! who gives a monkies what 12" are made of, this video is about the pacemaker!, from now on i will class them as being made out of chocoloate!

Think of it as a palm pilot or any other PDA... not meant to replace your computer, but provides a portable medium for work on the go in today's "demand for instant information" world.
