  • @freakadelical, dude, you are an idiot. If someone like you would step up to me in a club, and say: "Everybody can DJ with a laptop." I will stop the music, take the mic. and say: "Lady's and gentleman, this due over here is gonna rock the dancefloor right now".

Can't wait to see your face when you try ;)

  • dude, you are so right!

  • "managment batting the hell out of chefs" Dear god. you describe work so perfectly.. Thats why we must DJ

  • ohh and dj tutor do you have music like jeff mills robert hood. if so could you do a mix with them would love to hear i :). love your mixing its ace :P ?

  • but like vinyl turtables are sooo much better. im only 15 and i have been djing for 3years. with my technics 1210 mk2's. and ilove it. and the vinyl is alot better alot more fun. i think djs are taking the piss now days with computer djing pacemakers ecs. its NOT djing. if the dj is on turntables you see how good they really are. computer will set the mix up for them and its crap.ilove deck mixing and old mucis. like , jeff mills, robert hood, richie hawtin. :) mad mike

  • WELL SAID.

  • Absolutely Agree!

  • i like the way this guy breaks it down, he really breaks it down. you could practicly understand this if you didnt understand english

  • Couldnt of said it any better myself!

  • no need for this as practice. use a cheap software on your laptop. laptops are portable =]

  • but laptops arent as hands on unless u hava midi controller which is also quite hard to carry around

  • so although no one asked for the video to be make thanks cause it cleared up a couple questions i had when i first heard about the handheld dj syssem :] so... thanks

  • the Pacemaker is only as good as the person controling it & the tunes on it.

  • it's been a while since jonathan got his pacemaker and did these vids, wonder if he still uses it and what he thinks of it now ?

  • nice ella, lots of people seem to be missing the point of the pacemaker, i'd love to do a gig with one though just to be in the crowd while mixing :D

  • @Nasedo hahaha sick I would enjoy that

  • That was brilliantly presented haha

My buddy travels a lot and is on his way to being a dj (he still sucks lol)

so i guess, he shud get one of those pacemakers to practice and keep practicing ^^

  • What better device to have at that house party you turn up to and everyone says 'hey, you're the DJ...sort it out!' NOW WE CAN. I just got one recently and it's an incredible machine and for the price £300 it's an absolute bargain.

  • but you can take a cdj with you in a bus? stupid

  • i told you guys 2yrs ago, mobile shit is gonna come out to take over...while u guys are fighting over CDJ over PCDJ...duh, check this guy's old video where i had comment on it

  • thanks for this vid.. j

  • Load up some Samples, Acapellas, etc.. and your good to go !! Besides that... I like to see a Dj mixing on something bigger than his hand. (Would you like watching Metallica do a gig on iTouches ?)

  • No, your all doing it wrong (Not you, Jono ^^)... HOUSE/ELECTRO HOUSE/ACID HOUSE/TECHNO KICKS HARDCORE, HARDSTYLE, HARDANYTHINGS ASS!!!

  • TRUE!

  • I Agreeeeee man, on the way home from college on the bus n train I have NOTHING to do, a pacemaker would be brilliant. But when I get home, I'd much prefer to go up on my turntables.

  • if you're in the car or plane and you want to try out a mix, just get out your laptop and use a program like traktor or virtual dj.

why buy that $900 thing that has no use?

  • that $900 thing is small, compact and physical touch

  • or just get a qfo lol

  • great thoughts and analogies! this video alone made me subscribe! as i am an aspiring DJ and sound-producer, all of these types of videos and technology is very helpful and great! i hope to get a Korg Kaossilator and Electribe very soon and a mixer would be great as well. Edirol makes a great, 10-channel portable mixer, for DJ'ing on the go and it's battery powered!

  • HARDCORE FOR EVA WANKER

  • the pacemaker is sum brilliant bit of kit but its is true what this guy said vinyl will not be taken over there the better for mixing. cdj's also. but a proper dj plays wiv vinyl as it was the first way 2 do it and the old skool way to do it.....yea hardcore til i die yeaaaaaahhhhhh...

  • skrew hardcore its all about hardstyle!!!

  • fuk u hardcore ova cums all hardstyle. CRACKHEAD...

  • i dont care i still love hardstyle

and no i dosent u dumb shiet

  • piss off hardcore overrides all music. so piss off u shit wanker....

  • VINYL!!!!!!!!

  • yea dude

  • You are an awesome fellow, very useful and entertaining. A lot of people show off the effects of pacemaker, is it actually any good for mixing? Tbh that's all i'm really interested in

  • very informative man as usual....id luv one of these machines...i could mix anywhere

  • this is the steping stone of great things.technolagey in djing is moveing is comeing on great.not so much on my spelling lol

  • GOOD

    if u win the lottery

    expensive

but, in my view, over priced

  • pacemaker is a very expensive toy!!! if you want mobile dj then get a laptop and use serato or virtual dj etc

  • interesting

  • See if people thought about things like this guy here, there wouldnt be as many problems in this world we live in. So props to u Johnathan, for having an open mind which I think is the essence of being a true DJ.

  • I should have done this a long time ago. Now I'm finally subscribing to your VIDEOS. (I just seem to have forgotten.) Thanks for the input and for helping me making the right choice. :)

  • dj's rule the world! and i do think that future dj products like the pacemaker, will take over the tables as we know them... the world is changing very fast people! now imagin for a moment if u will, if u were a dj,would u rather cary around all that heavy equip/vinyl? or a small handheld dj tool that uses small SD cards that have all ur music on them... the answer is ovious.

  • No The World needs more people like Johnathan witch will never happen

  • great wat the world needs.. lol more djs :p

  • the metaphor at the start with referring the hotel to the mixer....was just shit. embarrassing to listen to. =]

  • good review! respect

  • I with you on that one!

  • Hi. Im using traktor with faderfox(a midi-gadget) as a foundation of our live-performances in my band. I was wondering what you think about if i should get a pacemaker, as a backup, if my computer or software malfunctions at a gig?

Or would it be better to buy some not so expensive cd-players? If so then what? If i buy a pair of CDj's then i might as well get a second macbook for the same amount of money. :)

  • What do you guys recon, if I wanted to start djing and havnt had any experiance of it before; Should I get a pacemaker or a pair od cd-jays and a mixer? Whats best for learning?

  • def get some cd players. and then get a P maker. j

  • @Qrolixx,

edventually take a usb mixing consolle and a pacemaker, if you want more just add a korg kp3 or mini kaoss pad...

  • I was actually looking for something like that for a while now... Something that would allow me to play my digital music collection without the need for extra CDjz in the booth; the reason is I don't have the CDjs@home and I'm not used to mix with CDs :P But the MAIN REASON IS that I like to mix combo sets. So this gadget would sure come in handy during the performance. And NO !!I wont go &buy CDjs As this is sooo much more fuuuun and "techno-ish" +it supports losless FLAC What more do U want

  • thought it was black gold? =]

  • thanks :)

  • ive heard alot of people saying that they want to become a dj but buy one of those 1st

    but realy its too expensive

you can get sum decent decks for half the price

your better off buying your decks 1st

and yes that thing is a great idia i wouldnt mind getting one of them myself :)

  • yeah and vinyl costs like $18 a pop

  • u can get cd players cheap aswell

mayb not a pioneer cdj but there are heaps of difrent brands that sell cheap cdjs

    gemsound for instant :P

  • Its a toy for people who want to be a dj

the real djs will still use decks, but when they are on the plane bus taking a shit, and just want to mix this is for you I might get one but I will never play live with that.

  • lol wouldnt a guy look stupid if hes standing on the stage of a club using one of those

  • actually it is a usefull sometimes, but please don't call "dj" to a guy using this gadget.

  • yup but if its made to revolutionise the market of dj's then why does it cost sao damn much

  • QUE MIERDA DECIS PSELOTUDOS PUTO

  • Yes its a brillant idea i admit but the thing is would you take something that was 400 quid on a bus?

  • I HAVE CDJS IN THE BACK OF MY CAR.. no worries

  • Well said. I want one!

  • I think they're great, I wouldn't mind having one.. but obviously not as an alternative to a proper set-up. I'd like to be able to plug it into a little stereo out camping or something and be able to do little mixes.

  • spot on!! I fully agree, Its also great because for some folks money is a key issue, true is got a big price tag, Now.. But so did computers when they first became an open market item, like many things for that fact.. Im sure other companies have it and have already began making their own mini-compact..

The joy of it is, that now no matter where you live, u can learn the fine art of DJ-ing..

Or practice while ur at work, or out doing whatever! Where-ever!

  • heheheh

u earned an extra star for being funny :)

  • Johnathan as much as i agree with you i have a problem with this devic...its great, and many djs will embrace but you kno as well many punks are gonna take this thing to a gig, do some simple fades and think they are a dj, not aware of the price but im guessing its cheaper then a dj setup...its sad how ppl never get the idea of a a product and just ruin it..my 2 cents

  • KP, are you in some way threatened by the fact that more people are going to be able to DJ now because of this unit? If some punter can mix a quality set together on one of these units then good on him/her - perhaps it'll force the old guard to raise their game rather than thinking just because they own a pair of decks they have some god given right to play other peoples music (let's not forget that fact). Embrace the technology mate and stop worrying about everyone else crashing "your" party...

  • lol..threatened, hardly...djing isn't a proffession, its a hobby for me... infact i would love if a wave of good djs came about from this device...but i just hate those people who think they know everything and constantly brag..dont be quick to judge ..i clearly said many will embrace the technology, im not saying its a shady piece of kit

  • Fair call and my apologies for misreading your last post! :-) It's a hobby for me too... One thing I've learned about music and DJing (ten years as a hobby) is that there are no short cuts to being any good - irrespective of the technology. that's because in order to be able to play well you need to invest time into listening to music and developing your taste and style - and that is something that can never be replaced by technology and will always differentiate a good Dj from a crap one.

  • technology is amazing! What's next? Who knows!... perhaps an electronic device that can read your mind! Imagine getting that tune out of your head onto digital format where anyone could play it!!!LOL

  • great vid wat mixer is that?

  • lol i was thinking the exact same thing about the bus.

i think a bit of practice with that thing would make it a lot of fun. I'd certainly have one rather than my ipod. i can plug the ipod into my truck cd player, so we listen to music all day that way.

how much more fun would it be to plug the pacemaker into the cd player (easy via the headphone jack) and mix all day long. a year ago or so, b4 the pacemaker, we tere thinking of ways to bring cdjs with us. pacemaker would be so much easier!!!

  • Vinyl Records are made of wax, not plastic as far as I know. lol

  • Vinyl records are made using vinyl, or, more accurately, PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride).

I'd be surprised if a form of wax were used, given how soft wax is, at least to my knowledge anyway.

  • They are made of vinyl. Duh.

  • to andreasm, Funny! Vinyl, plastic, wax, bananas, ladies knickers, amfibious landing craft! who gives a monkies what 12" are made of, this video is about the pacemaker!, from now on i will class them as being made out of chocoloate!

  • Vinyl is a type of plastic you bafoon

  • cmon, that comment was just stupid.

  • it was not wax it was shellac´, greetings from mr smart alecky :)

  • Man, 7 negative rates? What were they thinking? This chap andreasm comes here teaching us that vinyl records are not made of plastic, but vinyl... and I'm the one getting negative rates here?

    Please, grow up.

    Please, grow up.

  • he does actualy have a point

  • Thank you! Ive been thinking bout this as hell!

  • This is just gonna make me poorer, hehehe.

  • I think it will not take over but it or stuff like it will become something useful for people who like me don't have space for a full set up or want to take it on the road and get some time in doing mixes. I know for me it would be a great way to get back into doing the DJing I did when I was younger with out pissing off my girlfriend. I dont plan to go back full time but it would be a nice way to have fun and go back to something I loved.

  • Where can i buy one

  • Google is your best bet!

  • Google is your best bet!

  • Great vid! I wish i had one of those. :(

  • i trieed using your technique of not touching the platter to beatmatch, it's pretty cool and useful, thanks for the tip

  • soo true, very wize

  • dont own a pacemaker myself but it could be useful though when u dnt have access to ur tables. but it wont take over, almost like saying PDA's/iPhones wont take over a PC anytime soon

  • nice..but what's your mixer???

  • i think a pacemaker is better for making time pass by on the train or something... not for live sets. i would be pretty stoked to have one tho

  • Think of it as a palm pilot or any other PDA... not meant to replace your computer, but provides a portable medium for work on the go in today's "demand for instant information" world.

  • You said it perfectly, Johnathan. I wouldn't recommend upcoming DJs to put their interest into solely practicing on a Pacemaker. Turntables will never loose their status because that's where the roots of being a DJ come from. The Pacemaker will create more opportunities for both new and old DJs by improving the way we practice anytime and anywhere.

  • Pictures himself the toilet video :)

  • Agreed,

The pacemaker is more of an MP3 player designed for DJ's. The pacemaker taking over vinyl turntables or CDJ's is ridiculous. It would be like saying the MP3 player will take over the computer.

  • Agreed,

There isn't anything like hands on mixing. The pacemaker is more of an MP3 player for DJ's. Saying the pacemaker will take over vinyl or CDJ's is like saying the MP3 player will take over computers.

  • one day something like the pacemaker may take over was not too long ago taking a phone out of the house was unheard of. by the way I feel a video of J on a bus with a mixer nad turntables may be on the cards.

  • yep , true.

  • bravo

  • true that

  • Great video as always.

  • koooooo

  • pacemaker is nice but taking over dont think so.....oh and first

  • Its an amazing peice of equipment...

  • Must admit l would love a pacemaker mp3 player, Just so i can mix whenever wherever, but to be honest Unless they get below the £100 I'm not intrested XD

  • lol great vid yet again

    please reply to my message.
