Wow, this is weird for me to see. I watched SS in the 70s as a kid, and then started watching it again in the early 2000s with my own children. But I pretty much missed the in-between decades of the '80s and '90s. I know Luis and Maria had gotten married, but I never saw the "courtship" or "romance" episodes of this era. I am surprised that they showed them kissing like that. Not offended at all. Just surprised. And impressed that the producers figured that kids could deal with seeing it.
You know, attention spans seemed much different back then... I remember seeing reruns of the episode on tape (i was only 1 in 1988) and I loved it... I always thought it was real though... the two made such a great couple.
this is more of an adult scene though.. i dont mean that kids cant watch it but kids' attention span doesnt hold well for these kinds of street sketches. I remember seeing this sketch around the age of 6
Wow. That's all I have to say, just wow. Sesame street just isn't the same anymore. I remember back when SS was like this (I also remember this episode, even though I was only 2)I'd also love to see Maria ansd Luis' wedding. That episode aired on May 13th, 1988. I was unable to see it because that day I was in the hospital having hand and foot surgery. Just proves that life is better on Sesame Street!!!
Celia!!!!

I think that's so funny how Elmo fell asleep on Maria's shoulder while the adults continued with their dinner.

My best part of Sesame Street was when Big Bird had the birdie pox.
