I was just making a reference to that bollocks "britpop" war that the press fueled in the 90's by printing comments from both bands, which everyone misinterpreted as "oh Oasis and Blur hate eachother" when they in fact do not, and now that the 90's are over people apparently go and look for fan comments to misinterpret. I was in fact into Oasis before Blur, Definitely Maybe is an absolute classic record!

I am just discovering Blur. What an outstanding band! Too bad that here in the states we were force-fed that shit band Oasis in the 90s instead of this phenominal band Blur. On one hand I wish I'd known of their music for the past 2 decades; on the other, I am very happy to have a new treasure-trove of timeless and great songs. @umoomu the t-shirt was screen-printed by a geezer on camden market, without permission of Penguin. He was politely asked to stop printing them. I think this video was banned due to copyright issues around the shirt. Damon wore this t-shirt loads at the time - i saw them almost weekly in 1990/91 and it was a firm favourite. I have the orange Jack Kerouac "on the road" t-shirt. Penguin did introduce their own version shortly after this video but they were predictably poor.

My least favorite Blur track is Song 2. Among my favs Miss America and Mr. Briggs. Blur are awesome and their musical experimentation makes them one of my fav bands.

My favorite blur track has always been song 2. It's a sort of unusual mix of 'heavy' music with the mesmeric voice of damen. I like that sort of change in tempo in a song to spice it up, maybe that's just me though :P

That's what I loved about Blur, the fact that they evolved musically over the years. In the beginning they were accused of jumping on the "baggy" bandwagon, but they moved away from that to release a trilogy of Britpop albums, then did a bit of low-fi and then became a much more experimental kind of band. I never did get to see them live and it's a shame that they may not reform again, but their music played a huge part of my life, growing up and for that I am thankful.
