NI Audio Kontrol 1 USB/Midi Recording Interface Demo 1

Hello,

Can you tell me if i could connect some old school synthesizer (roland juno alpha 2 from '86) to my audio kontrol 1 so i could listen to it through my monitors? Do i need two cables or one would be enough? If two, can i connect synths outputs to AK1 inputs:

1. XLR/1/4 TRS Combo input

2. 1/4 TRS input?

I have the device and used it for a good 3 years. Now I have a problem with the device. Whenever I play a track, my speakers are producing a crackling noise in the audio track. This happens at random times. I checked the wires and tried not to make it touch to electrical devices, but I still get it. Could anyone help me?

I Have Audio Kontrol 1 and I have it connected to my iMac, the USB light comes on but when i plugged in my guitar it does pick up a signal. And the light around the knob on top does not come on when i turn the knob. And the three buttons below the knob do not light up when i press them.... What is the problem? and if I installed the Audio Kontrol 1 Driver incorrectly can I install it Again?

Wow. Seems like a great device. Thanks for this tutorial. I have a few questions though:

- Can a MIDI device pass through both the input and the USB to record and display MIDI notes?

- For guitar can it connect from amp and guitar and computer?

- Does it have a built in pre-amp?

- Is it a very common item in stores or do you have to buy it specifically?

- What is the retail price range?

guys i have a problem...my audio kontrol one is correctly installed but when i connect a condenser mic with a xlr wire ( 48v phantompower is activated ) no signal reaches the top ( the light next to the control bottom is not activated)

any1 here knows how i can make that get activated?

@triplebasedrum Probably the wiring of your XLR cable, the Yanks wire them one way and the Europeans/Japanese and Aussies wire them the other way. Try a different cable or get a cable tester to see what is the hot pin and what is the earth.

But remember being a USB input it can only be 2 in and 2 out at any time, only Firewire can support multiple channels of input data. So you would get the whole kit summed to a stereo input.

@lantyboy Now thats a difficult one and truly never had to record Midi AND Guitar at the same time,

for me its playing one instrument at a time, not enough hands you see!

I guess that it is possible to use this audio interface with timecode vinyls to control traktor. i assume that this is possible if you set the 2 stereo inputs to LINE, in this case you have 2 stereo ins to give timecode signal to the computer and 2 outs to plug them to a mixer. right?

@Jordi4312 Yep really like the Native Instruments gear, the guitar Rig is amazing as are their soft synths. I have the full suit of gear, its called the komplete Bundle. used to thing that Amplitude gear was good. That was until i tried the Native instruments stuff. Amplitude is no uninstalled .

One of my employees purchased a Kontrol 1, so he put his money down, he is happy a a pig in the s#%t

@chiritagua22 Sure you can record drums,

either set up a stereo microphone and do a live take of the complete acoustic drumkit,

or plug in a midi capable electronic drumkit. recording midi means you can then change triggered drumkits or correct wayward playing.

Well used on Live 7, with a Virus C, it make a really cool live setup and it work perfectly !
