I was never sure about this, but Earth isn't exactly in the same spot day after day. The planet goes around the sun. Sun goes around the galaxy. Galaxy hurtling through the universe. If you warped into the point of space you occupied 10 years ago, how far away would you be from now? Does that even make sense with time travel in a fictional way? Imagine Marty and doc going back to 1955 and warping into a void of space. "Where the deuce is earth?" "Its that little dot of light over there"
Well I mean seeing how they have found a way to travel through the space time "Continuum" without splitting into an alternative dimension I would postulate that they have factored in the position of the earth, although such a thing wouldnt have to be worried about seeing how if you traveled through the space time continuum without splitting the dimension, that would mean that earth would move with you as you traveled back in time. the present would cease to exist. which is why
@newinchwonder everything they do in the past has real world consequences for the exact present in which they have originated. simply put, if it is the same physical dimension, it can not exist in two different time dimensions, therefor the physical dimension would move with the time dimension even in a time reversal. sort of like rewinding a cassette tape, it doesnt just rewind the image, but also the audio (as dumb as that sounds lol) just my opinion on the matter
@newinchwonder well technically speaking the vehicle would be carrying the same momentum going in so the rotation of the earth shouldn't be a problem at all
@newinchwonder Bare in mind that they are still bound by gravity and such, I dont necessarily think that the time machine leaves the world's atmosphere
@newinchwonder I think Doc considered that and fixed it when he made the delorean, that's also why they always stay in Hill Valley and though the Earth is always spinning.
@newinchwonder There is just one problem with that idea. In the local coordinate plane the Earth is always in the same position at the same time of the year. Also, the gravity well of the planet would cause the worm hole created by the Delorean to remain on Earth rather than end up somewhere in space. Therefore, no matter how far you travel back or forward in time, you will always end up on Earth at roughly the same location as you left.
Just kidding. I DO have a sense of humor. I was just pointing out that the logical part of their comment was wrong. I admit it would rather funny if Doc and Marty materialized in space... at least for the fraction of a second before the wormhole's event horizon dissipates which would then release the air trapped inside. That would then cause them to spontaneously explode from the pressure differential. After all, a Delorean ain't exactly airtight.
@newinchwonder He would have to create a time travel/space travel machine. Either that or make an accurate judgment were the earth would be at a given time and travel to that spot before going through time. That's of course to assume that your point in space AND time are relative rather than fixed. But it's just fiction and if you think about it too long you come to the conclusion that time travel isn't scientifically possible. At least not as far as we've currently imagined it in media.
@Danzerfaust Well, they had Lando's scream coincide with Ackbar's appearance in this particular clip. I know that that wasn't Ackbar in the film going yee-haw, but what was that going on at the end of the vid?
I know Star Wars as well as anyone. Use your imagination next time.
I think the video would be funnier if you put "May 25, 1983" (that's when "Return of the Jedi" was released in theaters) in for the Destination Time, instead of having the original "November 5, 1955".
Really, every person I have showed this to whether in real time or on a link to a friend on facebook has liked it, probably about 15 or 20 people. Plus there are there are other alternative endings to like other endings and when I showed people those endings it was like ok for them, but when I showed them urs they also liked it
The Trek version works much better anyways. This one is more of an Homage. :P Make sure you guys check out Gazorra's videos. He has some really funny star trek edits.

That's where trajectory comes into play.
Obviously, this film didn't cover anything accurately.
If you wanna get into complex math and ideas, time is non-existent.
Time was invented by Man to create order.
If you think about it all, it makes perfect sense. We rationalize time based on the Earth's orbit around the sun.
Mathematical time/distance is based on the speed of light (fastest known moving object).
