  • you dont look like a muffin you look like optimus prime

  • Did you ever get your lightsaber fixed? If so do a re-post video if you still got the Crystal Focus board. Nice saber so far though. (Yes I know this is an old video).

  • @jedimastergarcia87 Nah. The cost and time it would have taken to ship it out and get it back was too much. I'm thinking about working on a new one though. Haven't kept up on the saber tech for the last couple years so I have to do some research.

  • Optimus Prime!

  • you fucking retard it doesnt even kill ppl!!!

  • @AssassinsRush why ya gotta break balls

  • If you go out and buy a forcefx lightsaber, you are a nerd.

If you order a converted forcefx that you can duel with, you are an uber-nerd.

if you can order all the separate parts, do all the wiring, and build a replica lightsaber that performs this well and is this realistic, you are fucking awesome!

  • I just want to say that I think it's amazing how people can make their own lightsabers and have them turn out really nice. How does one make a Lsaber? I mean lights, sound, etc. It's just awesome.

  • make 1 that wil cut through metal and i will get rid of all the people that you dont like and then of course use it for my self and if you dont belive me ill find them just give me their first and last name and the state or country

  • i would like it if some1 made lightsabers just like the 1s in the movie but it didnt slice through peaple that be awsome i .bet peaple would make lightsa23ber tournments

  • omg i love your helmet :3 :D im a nerd 8B

  • oh my god your sheets are ruined

  • boring

  • ha i wanna see your face now o.o

  • holy cow u can hold ur own blade tell me how plz i wont try i will do it

  • not to sound like a noob in saber terminology but wtf is crystal focus?

  • @KenFujiwara

It's a brand of lightsaber board.

  • @KenFujiwara its the same thing as a flux capacitor !

  • OMFG......TAKE OFF THE FUCKING MASK.....YOUR GONNA GIVE E NIGHTMARES.

  • sound effect is wrong.... thats a sound from a sith made crystal not one from a found and shaped crystal like the jedi use. at least to my noob knowledge.. i mgiht totally be wrong. you can tell from the slow purr. wher as all jedi sabers hum. its hard to describe... like i said i might be totally off and they can sound like that. idk

  • @Rivik616

You're actually correct on that fact. I used Sith saber sounds for the simple fact that I like the aggressive sound they make.

  • its realy loud

  • Hahaha I love the mask

  • This guy has to be One of the nerdiest American Alive !!

  • someone lives with thier parreennntttsss

  • thats pretty sweet dude

  • nothing gets you laid like a homemade light saber? am i right ladies

  • wow

  • cool

  • lol why were u wearing optimus mask

  • that thing probably drains its batteries in minutes!!

  • Surprisingly it can hold a charge for a good hour or so of being on constantly.

  • @TheMuffin18 amazing

  • How come your hand didn't burn up at 1:33?

  • that sounds like a goddamn vibrator!

  • It can slice up the bad guys AND please the ladies.

  • Win.

  • @TheMuffin18 3 thumbs up!

  • DUDE! OH. MY. GOD! i CANNOT believe it did NOT slice through your bed! WTF!

  • really? ......really? you thought it was going to slice through the bed?

  • @MonteLSV6 Thebed clothes are made of the same material as the crystal so they don't react to the plasma.

  • your using a toy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :(

  • What?

  • i'm more interested in your ugly face now : (

  • A bad soldering accident left me with a permanent scowl plastered on my face. Horrible to see.

  • still not as bad as acne lol!

  • sorry to hear that :(

  • @TheMuffin18

hmmm your hidding the thruth, you actually were hit by palpatine's force lightning, i can sense it!

  • @TheMuffin18 so you kind of look like young vader/anakin? XD

  • @TheMuffin18 get one of those white japanese masks! :D

  • ipp

  • that is honestly one of the best lightsaber i have seen one youtube probaly

  • Should have get the Halo 3 Legendary edition and get the Master Chief helmet, looks way cooler. XD

  • Doesn't fit on your head though. So it's worthless to me.

  • u can unscrew the the bottom part then u can where it

  • If the sword itself contains no light, how do they work?

  • The electronics are housed in the hilt itself. The light in the blade comes from a super bright LED that is housed at the emitter which is normally powered by 3-4 AAA or AA batteries. The blade itself is made of polycarbonate plastic -a clear and super durable material- and it normally has some type of film or paper on the inside that diffuses the light from the LED, making it appear as if the blade itself is lit. Basically a Luxeon saber is a complicated flashlight attached to a plastic stick.

  • What are these for? I mean... they would break if you used them for "duels" right? And doesnt one feel a little lame, swinging one of those around? xD lol

  • Luxeons were created for the purpose of dueling. There is no light in the blade itself which makes it perfect for beating up your buddies with them. And if you're insecure, then of course swinging one around would be embarrassing. Most people who are in the hobby however have moved past such trivial societal shortcomings so they can actually have some fun.

  • I used to fence, and it was fun. I tried Kendo (fighting with practise Katanas (shinai)), but it was too fast for me.. Rounds were over too quickly, because the swords were lightning quick. No real chance to parry. These look somewhat slower, so it DOES sound kinda cool, I am a SW fan after all =) Are the techniques serious though, and is this a real sport? Or is it just people meeting in basements.. lol Besides: im from Norway... Small country, probably not any jedis around here=(

  • Most people use them for decoration purposes. However I'm starting to see them used in stage plays and choreography competitions more and more as of late. Heck, just take a look around youtube here and you'll find some very impressive videos. I wouldn't consider it a sport. Not by a long shot. However, for entertainment purposes, they work wonderfully.

  • sweet

  • what? optimus prime with a lightsaber? phahaha. =P

  • you fight for the weak, muffin18. That is why YOU lose

  • fucking optimus prime wat the hell

    ? :p

  • Try some polypropylene in the blade, unless you aready have it in there.

Blue isn't too bright, well Royal Blue that is.

  • Oh no, it's the Soul Reaver !!!!!!!

  • XD deal with it

  • LOL!!!

    im hidiuos and sdisfigured.

  • lol.....shorting wire...

  • Thank you. I will be aiming for a sound similar to the fx.

  • And I typed that comment before you said "some day" in the video. Made it look like I was quoting you and not highlighting a main point. Weird.

  • Is there a way to have a more quiet saber? I plan to make one "some day".

  • Well, the Crystal Focus boards have a tiny little volume adjust on them.

  • are you going to release this? because i hate how the toy sabers either make sound when you strike and have all but three sound effects or they have effects when you swing but are off cue and are shitty.

  • I didn't create the board. Irv of plecterlabs did. I bought one off of him to use in my saber.

  • so who's gonna release it?

  • i am hideus looking and disfigured LOL

  • how much was the sound emitter?

  • If you mean the sound board, it was $140 US dollars.

  • i got a set of blue pink/purpleish and a green and red plasticswords there are about 5 tubes so u can put it down and put it on ill make a vid with em later, if i can figure out how .. hehe

  • man i want onea those ;) im pritty dorky too ive been doing role playing school etc etc with just star wars, power rangers and ofcourseharry potter erm well im a great actor but i dont want my friends to find out cus then they'll think im a dork lols but i would love to b able to go to sw conventions etc etc and meet new ppl as dorky as me ^^

    -Charlie-

  • Seriously man. Once you are out of there, you'll never see 99% of them again. Act like a geek, be yourself. The people that stay friends with you after that are the only ones worth keeping. I learned that way too late.

  • you are lucky the damn Optimus Prime helmet won't fit my big melon of a head.

  • im hopefuly going to try and make a custom version of K'Kruhk's lightsaber (he is a whipid jedi hu is good at not dying, he is in the the animated star wars series and fights grevious) anyway does anyone hav any tips on how to keep it cheap? nice vid by the way! the optimus thing was neat.

  • Well, it depends on what you mean by cheap. Under $100? You'll be paying at least $150 if you want one with sound.

  • reveal your true face !! teh force is weak with you...

  • Bah, the greatest sith wear masks.

  • Yeah go SITH! Revan foreva. lol

  • from the pic of the video it kind of looked like the saber was producing green smoke which is badass

  • Those sounds are the best I've ever heard, Even better than the Force Fx, Very good job!!!

  • where did u get that helmet?

  • Good old Toys R Us. All the retail stores had them but TRU seems to be the only place that has them now as it's been over a year since they were released.

  • lol i know

  • y r all these comments so loong!

  • Just curious: what do you think of makototsai's LED-chain sabers? I really like what I see in the videos, but I don't know if they're real or not. His saber appears as bright as or even brighter than the Hyperblade, yet he claims his construction is far cheaper overall. Yet, makoto seems fairly reluctant to provide me with the name or contact details of his LED manufacturer.

So one more question: If I want the best possible 5mm LEDs for a chain-saber, where do you recommend I look?

  • Honestly I really don't know. I've never worked with a chain of LED like in a Hyperblade or ForceFX saber. Though I've never had any LED from Radioshack fail on me for other applications.

  • A very difficult-to-find guide I read concerning Luxeon sabers was to use a construction that paired a white luxeon with a colored film that had a hole in the middle that produced a VERY accurate "white core" effect. How exactly it did this, I don't know, but it looked really cool on paper. You don't suppose you could try and show me this sort of thing personally, do you?

  • It might very well provide an accurate coring effect. However, I've found the lenses really cut down on the level of brightness. I could potentially try what you're asking, however I don't have the funds at the moment.

  • super bright? didn't look very bright to me at all...not trying to start a flame war but it really did not seem that bright to me

  • If your subscriptions didn't involve both hyperdynelabs and thedisturbance I might actually take your comment to heart. But when I saw that, I automatically knew you were one of their personal shields. Especially when a Luxeon builder comments on a hyperblade in another video. Congrats on failing miserably.

  • take it however you want to take it...I suscribed to them because I am researching their info to possibly buy a saber...I also suscrive to Timsboots but it doesn't mean I am one of their personal shields...fact is you said "super bright" my response was a difference of opinion...sorry it wasn't sugar coated enough for you

  • Well if it's an consolation this was using a Custom Saber Shop blade. I've since switched to one of Ultra's blades which lights up quite a bit better.

In my opinion, that blade was super bright. Especially compared to the royal blue I made a year before hand with a Corbin blade.

Sorry for lashing out, but it seems hyper and anyone affiliated with him have a nasty habit of attacking Luxeon sabers and their builders. I had assumed you were one of them.

  • I've also shortened the blade by about 4 inches, further spreading the glow more evenly down the shaft. This one was almost 44 inches long, which I found was way oversized and just looked tacky. I'll have to put up another video here soon showcasing the changes I made.

  • In regards to hyperblades the only thing I really care about is that they are brighter than the MRs...which is true...and that they are louder than MRs...which is true.

There's only way to truly know which company makes the brightest blade and that's to have a third party do a fair and equal test.

As far as Luxeons go...they seem pretty damn bright. They also have the extra glow at the base of the blade which I think is cool.

apology accepted...after all we all like lightsabers

  • hey out of the art of wanting how much would it cost for one of those i am a SW fan and i also am an avid duelist in the art of sword and it would be neat to have one of our vid compilations with a couple of those either way i give props for the fact you can make that and weither i can get a couple of those or not right on man i like it

  • Overall, a completed one with a hilt from the custom saber shop would probably run you anywhere from $200 - $600 depending on how extravagant you want to get with the parts. The board itself is around $140 shipped so tack on everything else you need like the LED, and such.

  • hae bro h0w old are you? im 19 and think toys rule! star wars rule! geeks rule! haha, dont worry about the mocking dikwodz. there is n0 age limit too happyness. i too have a lightsaber. myn is created by master replicas.

  • Oh no! Someone is verbally assaulting me on the internet. I'm so offended!

Dude. Who is the one with no life? The guy who signed up to this site and takes the time to insult people. Or the person that likes to tinker with electronics in his spare time?

  • It's okay man. We all know you're venting your anger because of one reason alone. Society not accepting your homosexuality. It's okay. We understand. We don't hold your love for smoking the pole against you.

  • Muffin you sure know ow to make good comebacks on pricks who have never heard of "Each to there own" not much of a man are you quinnton88?

  • Wow. Greatest comeback ever.

I see you have no videos on you channel. Why did you sign up to join YouTube, anyway? To try and be cool by making fun of random people? You clearly aren't cool enough.

  • Just in case people misunderstand, the comment above me is addressed to quinnton88.

  • HAHA You owned that muffin! Lol, don't worry what he says back, nothing will be abl to put down what you just said lolololol

  • Sweet. Are there any pics of it finished?

  • Everything is done except for some painting. Soon as that is done I'll throw another one up of it completed.

  • Ah, glad you figured out that it was an "untamed" solder joint or wire. Covering ALL of those kinds of areas will eliminate the possibility of shorts... unless a joint simply breaks. And if THAT happens--well, you'll be certain of which wire it is once it's taken apart... :)

  • Yeah I figured it out today. The kill switch wires were crossing when I swung it around there. Which caused it to think I had flipped the switch.

  • No questions are stupid, Muffin... let's see... as to shorts--look to cover all solder points with electrical tape or something to prevent wires from crossing.

As to an aux button--it looks like you have an extra button already? Maybe that's your kill switch... hmm, dunno. :)

Good work. Experience is experience, and we all learn from every bit of wiring we do. I know *I* did.
