  • There are 4 parts.I played this show in High school and it was the only show I could'nt wait to be over, most boring show we ever played.Usually when I hear a song I played in marching band I get so Happy I become sad(hopefully you know what Im talking about. But thhis show, all I can remember is how miserable I was but this was also the year my girlfriend was removed from the band and I played Trombone.not many good trombone parts in this song.BTW He accually skiped Part2 that startswith baritone

  • this is our 2010 show most likely but we r going to have ALOT more percussion stuff in it...its going to be awesome

  • i'm doing this show for 2010 marching band. well the music anyway.

  • This is really nice. I think my high school is doing this next year. I won't be there though LOL. It's really good, i don't like how they do their commands. oh well. I guess it's just different from what i'm used to.

  • very nice... my band just started doing this.. so far im loving it

  • We are doing this show this year!! Im in drumline and the cymbals totally kick butt with all the visuals we put in!! nice drill!!

  • great tempo, and cool forms.

my band is doing this this year...except we cut the first 18 measures of the opener and american wake.

and its pretty cool, before the drumline feature, the drumline does some dancing and flag work...=]

  • you skipped part 1?

  • what do you mean?

    there's two parts?

  • Yes

  • @fr3akdotcom There's the 'opener', 'part 1' 'part 2' and 'closer'

  • Oh I remember this... Can't believe its on here. That seems like ages ago?!?! Its melbourne high school in florida

  • Yep The Pride Of Mel High. I have the shows from 1998, then 2000 - 2009.

I can't seem to find the 1999 "Florida Show"

  • i like the forms

  • I played this show my freshamn year 2004! it wasn't in the exact order as this one but i loved it.

  • a little too much brass for me

  • i'm playing this for my show next year

  • really? me too, haha *well not playing, doing guard lol*

i hope your not from california then?, lol

  • nope, not from california

  • ok cool lol

somehow every year we get stuck doing the same show as everyone else, haha

  • Congrats on getting a dance solo!

  • where is this school at?

and i have to agree that the guard wasnt the greatest...lol :D

  • This is an awesome performance of this song. I remember doing this in High School in 2002. I would have to agree with jesusFreak, the worst part of this performance was the Drum Line. There were many times where they were not together and crisp, like a drum line needs to be. I played in the pit for our song and I loved it. I have always adored playing the keyboard instruments, and I thought your guys did a fantastic job with this, they blended into the band well, while you could still hear them.

  • Nice ending winds, the bow effect is cool. Drumline watch it!! Good marching again, see 1 or 2 out of step. Ending was spot on.

  • thanks for all the comments bro. the vocal commands have been a tradition in the mel high marching band for 40+ years. and since it is a tradition we tend to keep it.

watch the other videos as well!

  • Well in that case, keep it going! I just hadn't heard it before. I know we have them drilled into our heads, so you "say" it, but only to yourself. Sounds good to me. Check us out, Dublin Coffman Marching Band. Take it easy -- JF

  • 4:20 is awesome guys! Drumline at 4:40 could be cleaner, but not awful. Winds 4:47, nicely done. 5:00, nice blend. Again, what's with the "Down!" Nicer just to see the horns snap down. Drumbreak, here we go. Snares, clean it up. Tenors, pretty good guys, clean with the snares. Basses watch unisons, splits were good. snares were good at 6:07 very clean. Watch those rimshots, they were split between all of you. Winds at 6:41 you guys are right on. Cool backwards high step, Creative ->

  • (comment as I watch) Intro horns we're awesome. Perc entrance was pretty good, fell apart as it acclerated, winds still sound good. 2:31, everyone was together. Drumline needed to clean up their sixteenths. What's up with the vocal commands? "And Down!" No need to speak it, Just do it, it's much flashier that way. Slow section sounds good so far, winds nice job. Clean blending. Perc at 3:35 excellent groove. Good formations. (Loved the "R" at the beginning!!) Perc at 4:10 good. Continue

  • i love that and that is by far the best recording of it i've seen so far! but a band of ur size and talent. how do u only have 6 guard?

  • 6 is 6 too many if you ask me

  • why? whats wrong with colour guard? they make a band!!

  • Hahahaha. Having been on CG.. I do agree.

  • Gaylord High is playing Riverdance too! But, we play it slower too and our director, Jarve, created our drills so they aren't as cool as yours. You guys really are amazing!

  • wow! you guys did amazing. my school is playing riverdance this year too lol

  • they have a great sound for that small of a group!!! My school is doing Riverdance this year too!!!

  • That is really good..our school is doing that show this year..but we play everything a little slower..like how its written on the paper. but you are really good.
