I understand and care for all the men and woman who sacrifice everything for my freedom. I lived in NY during 9/11 had a father who fought in wII and the korean war an ex who fought in Viatnam, and my current who came back from this war to retire after 22 years of service. All I can say is my prayers and supprt are with you all
i've discovered that there a lot of young juvenille punks getting these sites. these are the ones who curse bush, the military, anti american remarks etc. i suspect a lot of them are looking for attention, get bullied in school etc.every one that i let know that i was on to them never argued. on the flip side i see some very nice kids very leveled headed. i have seen some of them say they can't wait until they graduate so they can join the military.they're our future heros.
Now im not disagreeing that soldiers can be heroes, but fact is that war is like an american tradition, and it's always rich people sending young middle class men to die, and those middle class men truly belive that they are fighting for their fellow middle class people so i really don't blame them, but there really is no necessity for a budget that gives the military over half of the tax money, or having your CIA overthrown foreign nations goverments. it just provoke terrorism alot more.
News flash>in the US these "young men" of all classes aren't sent, they volunteer to go.Some of these young men stay 20-35 years, because they believe in what they are doing. The ones who do the whining and bellyaching are the ones who signed up to get a free education on the taxpayers. They assumed they could go play war games 1 weekend a month+2 weeks in the year. They wanted to free load off us, to get into high paying positions, without giving anything back, not even a thank you to us taxpayers.
There are countries that has not gone to war at all and still have more basic freedoms than the US. Why do you assume you cannot have both freedom and peace? And if you are poor without a job and can't find one, doesn't joining the military suddenly sound alot better? No rich guy would ever join the military out of necessity or they wouldn't be rich. How many rich kids go to the middle east? I dare say the richest 1% of your people has alot less soldiers in it than any other percentage.
I haven't taken a poll on the stastics of the station in life, of the young people, who are joining and reupping year after year in our military to defend our country.Have you? Some are very well off. They believe in what they are doing. You are merely stating your opinion. That does not make it a fact. What is your definition of basic freedoms? Any country that doesn't have a military, soon finds themselves at the mercy of another.Look around and find out what's happening in your own backyard.
Well im not blaming the young men who join the military, and i do not hate your military either, but i disagree strongly against the unites states foreign policy. And statistics showed that in january, there were more american troops in Iraq who died from suicide than there were men who died in battle. So im sure it can't be that great over there... My opinion is not fact though, I got the basic freedom ranking from the UN list though. And i should have a right to my opinion should i not?
this is a great song. i am sorry for all the soldiers and veterans who have to constantly hear crap from liberals and media that belitle soldiers and their effort. please support out troops and veterans.
To the men and women who serve our country: Thank-you. You are not forgotten and you are not unsupported. Until the last soldier comes home and the last terrorist is rooted out, I will fly the flag high. You are very brave, and I salute you!
I've always loved his war songs to tribute the soldiers. :3 One thing though...he just needs to cut his hair back to how it was in the video "Have You Forgotten." :3 Much better. ^^;;
I had a cousin who had three kids never got too hear 2 of them speak because he died in iraq so to the ppl that think that the marines no not just the marines. Army, navy, airforce, marines everybody in the military whoever thinks they are murderers need to wake up and see who were fighting for
iam a u.s. marine and i had pepole telling me that i was wrong to fight the war and the churches told me god hated me and my friends that were killed over in that hell hole
That is bull. You were doing your duty and no church speaks for god.If you believe you know that isnt true.
People in this country respect and support you. They believe in you.Yes their will be some hate filled people that spout garbage at you.But that is their problem. They are the ones who need help.God loves everybody and no one can take that away from you.
Any church that preaches that, has their own agenda separate from the teachings of God. Ignore them, remember that Jesus was cursed by Holier than thou people too. He knows what you are going through.
i luv this song so much, and wat makes me mad is the fact that all these ppl in my skool think the war isnt a big deal, but none of their parents r in the war. wat ppl dont get is how drasticly the war affects ppl whos parents r in the war, like my dad
He is singing about Liberals and the liberal media and how they HATE the troops. USNA He has been in combate zone 14 times since 9/11 and judgeing by the tatoo on his arm he did some pretty scarry hit before he started singing. Hey USNATO4EVR when did you do something for you country.
This is a meaningful song with very powerful lyrics. Great song. Sometimes I wish I ws 18 so I could serve my country, and other times I am thankful I'm not.
We heard him sing this live at FOB Marez around Christmastime. There was not a dry eye in the house. We are civilians living and working with the Army Corps of Engineers. This song gets us going everytime we hear it. I hope he comes back with the USO again.
What is with CMT and these "country" artists doing anything to make some money off this war? I think this guy should do the returning troops a favor and force his label and their parent corporation and donate any profit made off this to troops and their families. Those who really sypathize with our soldiers and their struggles should understand the hipocrisy here.
Maybe you need to take a look at another of his videos... "Have you forgotten"... How many of the "gold-digging" artists are will to travel to a place like Iraq or Afghanistan and give my fellow Soldiers a show... The answer, very few... This song speaks the feeling of not only myself (OIF I,II, and III Veteran as well as getting ready to make my third deployment to Iraq) but all of my Brothers and Sisters in Arms!!!
Before you criticize, maybe you should seek out a Veteran of OIF/OEF and listen to the song with them and see if it doesn't bring a tear to their eye when they think about the Brother or Sister they lost over there... We have all experienced it in one way or another... We fight for this Great Country to give people like Mr. Worley the right and opportunity to seek his fortune in which ever way he chooses...
I have great respect for the musical artists that are able to tap into the true feelings of my fellow Soldiers... The first time that I heard this song it brought a tear to my eye because, yes, I have lost several Dear Friends and Comrades in this War. Here is a link that may give you a little bit of insight into Mr. Worley's inspiration behind this song...
And I will close with this: I don't know how many times I have spoken these exact words: "I just came back from a War" and now I am saying "I am going back to a war"... Maybe you should ask my Wife and Kids how much I have changed each time that I have gone over there!!!
For everyone that keeps wondering why we are over their, here's the answer. First, know your history. Iran Contra Scandal is a good start. Regan funded Iraq to win in the war they had against Iran. Iraq failed. Iraq had a huge debt to us that needed to be paid. It wasn't. We made up an excuse to get rid of the person in debt to us. That is the condensed version. If you don't believe it, like I said, start reading history and the Iran Contra Scandal would be a good start.
Andrew I agree with you on the part about oil yes part of it about oil but not all of it. Yes Bush has stocks in the oil in Iraq, Iran, Quiat (sp), and many other countries, but this country also depends on oil from the middle east so yea he had to help out otherwise this country would be in deep shit. Great video.
This song is not just about the war in Iraq its about every war. Its not talking about the Iraqis in general its about the enemys you face in war any war. Not all Iraqis are bad my uncle and friend have been saved many times by Iraqis.
Also I want to add that we are over there for no goddamn reasion and wish bush would let us return. But no he wants GOD DAMN MONEY! HE WANTS TO KILL PEOPLE TRYING TO DO THE RIGHT THING! Bush and our Gov sucks and needs to change or else the richer just gets richer and the middle class just gets screwed!
Shut up. We're over there to try and help Iraq, and rid the world of terrorism. If an idiot like Clinton were in office, he wouldn't do anything and we'd be sitting here getting bombed almost daily! Just like he ignored the bomb in '93! Look where that got us!
Where not trying to stop terrisom Thats just what Bush put into your head. We are over there for oil. v_v Bush could give a damn about the people. Think. Why do you think we were killing more men trying to protect the oil rigs at the start of the war.
No, we aren't over there for oil. That's what the liberals put into your head so that they could get people against Bush before the election of '04. We are only killing the enemies, not the civilians. If the enemies were protecting oil rigs, then we killed them.
Yet at the end of war sudam was blowing up his own oil rigs why did we stop them? Hint hint. And I got anouther question why are we even still over there. And if it wasn't for oil So why didn't the US help the people in Rwanda when half a million people where hacked to death with macheties. And everyone knew it was comming. Maybe becouse there is no oil there. :p So yes its all for oil! Screw Bush and his little money game!
