i'm against torture. i'm not convinced at all that it is torture. i've watched Mancow, Steve Harrigan, Chris Hitchins all do it. 2 said it was torture immediately after having it done. all 3 were perfectly fine within a couple minutes of being waterboarded. if it's okay to shoot unarmed bin laden in the face, which i think it is, then why not waterboard the worst of the worst terrorists. it causes no physical harm. you are just scaring the living shit out of them.

I'm glad he caught the distinction between confessing WHILE under a certain interrogation tactic as opposed to confessing BECAUSE of an interrogation tactic. Cenk got the very last part confused a little. He's still correct that waterboarding didn't provide the relevant info. However, Rumsfeld made a very deliberate statement saying, waterboarding didn't happen at Gitmo, meaning it happened at the CIA black sites (of course, other harsh techniques might have happened at Gitmo that did not include water). Then he said the "Department of Defence" never waterboarded, meaning, the CIA did it.

Clearly some of it came from detainees and the interrogation of detainees. If you re-read what I said you'll see I said, "was indeed used as a means as PART of the process that led to Bin Laden's death." I didn't say it was the sole source that led to that. I said it was PART of it, as Panetta said in the interview. Listen to that interview word for word and you'll see all of this information I'm saying is correct.
