Hey Lindsay! Sorry about the delay in my response--i've been super busy over the past few weeks! As for maternity/parental leave in Canada-- you can take up to 52 weeks of combined mat and parental leave. You need to have worked for your employer for a minimum of 6 months, and leave pay is calculated at 55% of your avg earnings over the past 26 (?) pay periods. It actually works out to be about the same as regular pay as leave is calculated off your earnings before taxes and deductions.

That's one of the things about me going back to work that my husband and I discussed...I would basically be going back to work to put the kids in childcare. We decided that we wouldn't be making enough extra money for it to be worth putting them in childcare when I could just stay home.
@xxxTheFamilyClarkxx Thanks! And yes, we have a lot to talk about, my vote is for me being a SAHM!! :) With his schedule though we could potentially get away w/o child care if I found the right job, so we'll see!
i was let go from my job is May..and i also receive unemployment..but i was told you can reapply..but maybe its by different from by each states. BTW, i'm taking my 3 hr GTT tomorrow and i'm sooo nervous..ahh about the 4 time blood draw.
