Great poem and i'm proud to say he gave my mom a book and signed it to me and told her to tell me to read this poem and then look it up on youtube. Great book:)
My uncle is a retired Massachusetts State Trooper and all I could do is think of him when I listened to this. Amazing, just amazing.......God Bless you Bob for all the work you did as a State Trooper, and now do inspirationally as a speaker....
Lovely! God Bless and keep safe our Troopers and all the men and women of Law Enforcement. We've been saddened by the loss of two these last few months here and on Christmas it should be a time of joy.....
My christmas eve was a horror in the 66 Pct 1969 seeing a child lose a battle with Brain Cancer and a father filled with so much grief that all he could do was sit under the tree and play with toys. and whats makes this so said to me is one week later flying into the 62 Pct found a teenager dead on an apartment stairway from a drug overdose his choice of drugs. THEY REMAIN nightmare's being a cop is not a job for a real human being.
Bob, Boy that was very touching. Is it a true story that you experienced???? I believe it could have been knowing who you are and how you lived your life in the Highway Patrol in Ohio. God bless you in all you do to serve Him. Tom Ganley
You are awesome! The two dislikes you got have to be from people that didnt take the time to listen to your poem! I think someone will grab this poem and put some music to it and sing an awesome song! Thanks!
Tears started when I realized, before you said who she was, who the female trooper was!!! Thank God for people like you and others - you are our Angels when everything goes to hell. Thank you for this wonderful narration - it's a keeper for me and shall we sent wherever I can send it. And bless your wife for being a Trooper's/Police Officer's wife.
This is GREAT! What a talent you have for sharing such great stories! I am a trooper's wife and I appreciate all of your hard work and know how much your wife thought about you on occasions that you had to miss out on b/c of work!!! Keep up the story telling! God Bless!
33 years of Policing the streets of Toronto. Having knocked on those doors myself many times, including Christmas Eve, I understand exactly what the Narrator is trying to get across. Every Job has it's Up's and Down's, and that was just part of Ours!
Wow! Your as good at your new job Trooper as you were in your old. Your story and manner of delivery is much like Robert W. Service. Thank you for a job well done. GB
Wow......Talk about a lump in the throat. I was going to say awesome poem, but it is not a poem it is a message in a way. That was delivered in the most perfect way. May God Bless you and the men and women in Blue.
What a fantastic story. You've set a pretty high bar, sir. It's one that I hope others aspire to. I know that I do. We could use more stories like yours. God bless and keep you.
Thanks Capt. I had to deliver those messages several times myself. I met you one day at the OSP Academy. I was with the Williams County Sheriff's Dept at the time. God Bless and have a wonderful 2011!!
In all my years, thank the Lord, I've only had to knock on a few doors. Citizens think cops don't have emotions. If they only knew the truth. I had to dry out my keyboard before I could send this note. Beautiful!
Thanks Capt., some of my most inspirational times and memories within the Highway Patrol were listening to you speak and instruct at the Academy. Once a gray shirt always a gray shirt. God Bless; Keith Ferguson
As a retired State Trooper and another many years in LE I find your poem reassuring of all the good that God has allowed me and and others to service our fellow man.
Just like the hundreds of poems and stories of yours I have enjoyed around the campfire in hunting in hunting camp I enjoyed this one just as much. Jim Coleman
Thaks Bob for the poem. I cried remembering my 30 years ,from 60 to 90, doing the same job. The worst part waa always knocking on those doors. Thaks for your poem, and the memories it brought back........Jerry Gordon
Bob's stories have found a permanent place in the hearts of so many. I am so fortunate to know Bob, both as a retired trooper and as a storyteller. But most of all I'm honored to know him as a friend. Please visit his website to learn more about his wondeful stories and related products.
