What? Your beautiful, I couldn't imagine why anybody regardless of race would hate your hair. I'm white but kind of wish I had black hair because my hair is thin and when I come across black women I am actually jealous of their hair and think its beautiful I can never understand the fact why certain people try to change themselves just to fit in, because I came across that all the time and it just bugged the crap out of me.
It's all about 'Gentrification' and controlling how we think about ourselves and each other. It helps them control us and helps them kill our neighborhoods and culture.

@jahluv3000 In your case, it may work for you. The black men I grew up around all had relaxed haired mothers and the majority of them are dating natural haired women. Other factors come into play. Such as the area he lives in and his mindset in general. I had a guy dump me because his friends ragged on him so much about my hair. So peer pressures as well. It varies too much for that to be a definite answer to the issue.

A lot of Black Men love sistas with no perm. The only hairstyle that's boring for sistas is the straight long hair. I like the short do's too. a lot of people dont realize that a lot of white women would kill to have our texture and I know some white boys who would love to have wave patterns

I was natural for 2 years then I got a perm. I'm transitioning now back to natural I hope I'll stay! In the long run, men are just who they are whether we are natural or permed. I've just decided to do what's best for ME whether a man likes it or not. It's we stopped catering to me and trying to change ourselves to please them. I love myself enough to be BY MYSELF if a man can't accept me FOR MYSELF!

I am confused?? What did he mean by you don't even look African?? He was ignorant. Africans come in all shapes, colors and sizes. I'm happy I have a husband that loves and prefers my hair natural. Out here in Philly (moved from NYC) the men are NOT feeling it...lol I've gotten one compliment from a guy out here. He said it's DIFFERENT! Which was a compliment to me. The majority of women out here wear weaves and wigs, so I appreciate being DIFFERENT!

I work with kids. When I hear them hate'n on themselves because of their hair I feel like my brain is about to explode. Natural is beautiful and supreme. I take every opportunity to let them know. Thanks for setting an example.

He comments that he likes me in my straight wigs, but when I wear my hair out naturally, only one time did he say he kinda liked it, but not as much as the dam WIG! Isn't that something. Now wait.......get this.......He has the nerve to ignore my natural hair, BUT HE IS BALD HEADED! WHAT THE F#$#! Maybe he is jealous that my hair is natural and thick so he prefers my wig. Hmm...Epiphany!!!

You are who you are. The right guy will except you for who you are in your natural state...I wear my natural hair and I can't begin to tell you how many compliments i get from black men. I was natural for 2 years then I got a perm. I'm transitioning now back to natural I hope I'll stay! In the long run, men are just who they are whether we are natural or permed. I've just decided to do what's best for ME whether a man likes it or not. It's we stopped catering to me and trying to change ourselves to please them. I love myself enough to be BY MYSELF if a man can't accept me FOR MYSELF!

I've encountered mostly positive responses...BUT there were a few negative ones & it wasn' only from 1 or 2 men, it was Women??!!! Actually I've had black women make negative comments & some just not comment at all... including my Aunty... & it use to bother me...BUT I had to do some self reflection & not let such foolishness interefere with my feelings of LIBERATION!!
