  • This is so beautiful. :) I'm 4 months on the way, and I've always wanted a water birth. This video just makes me feel so much more confident about that decision. Just a couple of questions, though:

Looks like you used an inflatable birthing tub, do you think it would be a lot different if we'll be using a regular bath tub?

Some of the water birth videos also have the mommy squatting, saying that it takes the pressure off their backs, but you seemed to be okay in a reclining position. Thoughts?

  • A-B-S-O-L-U-T-E-L-Y AMAZING, GO MOMMY!

  • 15smfh

  • This is exactly how I want to give birth to my first child. It just seems so much more relaxed than the hustle and bustle at the hospital. You can go at your own pace and you don't have 2198347392 people standing in the room waiting for you to push. I'm definitely choosing to go through a midwife. Congrats on the beautiful baby girl.

  • Great job! Beautiful birth.

  • es lo mas hermoso que he visto en verdad que es algo tan lindo !!!

  • god bless you

  • Thankyou so much for having the courage to put this on youtube! It gives me so much hope and excites me to also have a water birth. you did it so beautifully! Amazing.

  • Did it hurt at all? sorry if it sound rude or anything just wonders

  • Oh, she's so little!

  • I love how only 15seconds has passed by since her baby was born that she mom exclaims how much easier bith was at home. I had the same sentiments but I think I only said them about an hour later. Congratulations on a beautiful peaceful beggining!

  • @sagekelli thanks for the comments. I just wanted to let you know I removed you last comment because I would rather you contact me on a private message before There are any posts with links to sights I am not aware of. I do want to know who is posting and where it is coming from. Please contact me if you want me to pass along a website. I just want to research what you do first. I hope you understand. Thanks Helen

  • This is just so amazing!

  • she's so cute!!! congrats!!!

  • i want to try this when i have a babie :D

  • I know this is kind of personal but did your vagina tear....... That's what I'm afraid of if I ever have kids......

  • MY birthday is July 19th too!!! :D

  • She's so tiny..awwww good job. She slid right out! Lol

  • im so happy and honered to have the same birth day(plus 29 years) as your little angel (i did manage to get i first daughter only 8 days before my bd thoe ) so happy for you all love melissa.

  • u did such a great job,i holy crap my water broke

  • wow I am 15 and I am pregnant and I am doing a home delivery and I hope it goes as well as yours did you have a beautiful daughter

  • @marciraiann 15?! smh.....

  • Gorgeous! Congratulations, momma!

  • And that is how birth (for healthy, well women with uncomplicated pregnancies) should be. Not all this un-necessary hospital intervention! Yay for Homebirth!!!! Congratulations on your daughter. I've homebirthed 3 boys!

  • Sorry! My cousin's birthday! 7/19/02. My brother is born 7/17/04 I get those two mixed up alot!

  • Awh! She was born on my little brother's birthday! He was born 7/19/04

  • awwww but im 11 and now i dont want to have kids when im older

  • Congrats shes sooo cute god bless you all

  • Aw, she's beautiful! congrats on your little angel!

  • She's so beautiful and tiny! She is so cute! Congrats!

  • That was really well planed out an i love the fact its not as messy as a hostpital. Would you recommend this to someone giving birth to their first child?

  • @QBelton05 Yes as long as you are doing it with a licensed midwife with the right qualifications to do a home water birth. I spent my whole pregnancy with my midwife developing a Doctor/patient relationship with her. Click on her website link under the video to see what services a midwife offers

  • @QBelton05 I wish I had switched over... I am afraid to give birth in a few weeks because I feel the hospital is already trying to push unnecessary interventions on me. Our next baby will be a homebirth. i hear of many successful unassisted births also. There is so much research out there! I found a Facebook support page, Birth Without Fear, and they directed me to information and other support sites.

  • AMAZ ING AND HEARTWELMING

  • what is the name of this song?

  • @sasha216t I'm not sure I have a apple mac book pro and there is a bunch of short music clips in the I tune movie editor I just used those because I didn't want to find my self having copyright issues.

  • how can u possibley have dislikes!

  • @maialuvv1 I really don't know. I wish I could find out why someone disliked it. I have had some extremely rude comments from people who may not have been searching for this kind of video and still watched it. I have immediately removed any of those bad comments from this stream. It funny what some people think.

  • น่ารักมากๆเลย

  • @unlwajusslaj any way to translate this to english??

  • wow

  • wow

  • beautiful! your team effort & planning paid off! many blessings to you & yours for health & abundance always.

  • @888gulfstream Thanks!!

  • OMG that was awesome, hope you and your angel doing well, good job Mommy

  • @wcare05 We are doing great. I should post a video of her now. She is still a tiny little thing now at 7 months old.

  • Is water birth better than giving birth on a bed at the hospital? Beautiful baby by the way. :-)

  • @LTCJ2006 I thought it was much better. the pain was less the atmosphere was less stressed. Everything about it was better. Check my steam of comments I have gone into more detail about in down the line. Thanks Helen

  • @HelenLAvery :-) Thank you very much for explaining it to me. I am not pregnant now but if I do have children, I really don't want to experience a lot of pain. I don't have a high- tolerance for pain... :-/

  • i tink i might do that when i get old enough to have one and is in labor... seem so much more humane that the mother gets to be the one to first hold and touch the baby. ;'3

  • HOLE. EE. CRAP. what a brave woman... i really don't think i could imagine going through labor/delivery again without epidural

  • I'm not gunna lie ... I'm 6 weeks pregnant and I almost cried. Very heart warming.

  • 0:40 ithought that was cute becuz thats what the baby looks like in your stomack

  • Lol i love how the babies are always crying and upset like you did something to them. Congrats you guys!

  • This was fantastic...

  • great video thanks for sharing... 3 weeks to go for me unfortunately not water birth.

  • awww <3 this was so amazing shes so beautiful this video brought me to tears <3 you did a great job :')

  • Giving birth appears scary...

  • @ririx33 Why???

  • Wow, that was actually really beautiful. Thank you for sharing. =]

  • That did not even look so bad! I mean... It sure was, but I always had this terrifying picture of birhts, but this wasn't so bad. I pictured a lot of screaming, blood and tears, but you were actually able to talk and stay calm. Way to go!

  • @Leamongol It is all in how you deal and with pain. It really isnt that bad

  • I've only 7 wks to go... :-) xx

  • @chelle133 congrats and good luck!!!!

  • @chelle133 CONGRATS GOOD LUCK :D

  • is the man naked

  • @makeupmyworld6563 No he had on swim trunks

  • @HelenLAvery Just curious but how old are you? Have you had any other children?

  • @Elikam82 At the time of Chelsea's birth I had just turned 39. And Yes I have a son born in 2009 when I was 36. they are 2 years and 2 months apart.

  • @HelenLAvery That's awesome, I have a lot of respect for the older than 35 mom's. I'm 29 with no children yet, so I always fear I'll hit my mid to late 30's struggling for kids. Always positive to come across someone who had kids over 35. I guess it's just the common thing to watch the biological clock that society constantly points out.

  • why is there blood

  • @makeupmyworld6563 There is always blood with a birth. Your uterus is filled with blood that is attached to the placenta, which is the afterbirth. Once the baby comes out you give birth to the placenta and there is always blood involved with it. Its totally natural and nothing was wrong

  • such a cuutteeee baby

  • aw gorgeous little baby <33 :)

  • It was great.so beautiful birth.

  • Aww what a gorgeous baby:)

  • awwww so beautiful baby congrats

  • Awww she is so beautiful i no im still to young to have a baby but 1st baby i have it going to by in a tub

  • Ah wow the mirror is such a great idea! I'm gonna have to remember that one.

  • awww thats so beautiful birth

  • GO BABY !

  • That was the most inspiring video I've seen yet of the kind of birth I want to have. Was this your first time?

  • loved the breathing technique and you were so calm. i have to start researching some breathing techniques soon . god bless.

  • The last song on this is lovely! What is it? And this is a beautiful birth!

  • i liked how she kept her self calm

  • In China she would have been thrown out on the curb.

  • I am in awe of how calm everyone was during your birthing process. During my births (4 of them) having the environment around me as calm as possible was a huge help. It allowed me to stay calm and let my body do what it needed to do to get my babies here.

  • Awww! I can't believe I cried watching this. Im not usually that emotional. Awww! The best for you, daddy, and your beautiful baby:)

  • Was this your first baby? this birth looked so easy, that is nice. It didnt look like you had to push or anything, I really hope my next will be as easy o and by the way you didnt scream as many others do.. :)

  • I WONDER HOW IT FEEL TO HAVE A BABY

  • whao, it look easy

  • gorgeous birth well done mom

  • thats was sooo cool.. I just watch this with my 3 yr old daughter.. Im in the medical field and i want to start her early.. maybe 3 is a little too early but she liked it...LOL

  • Absolutely beautiful! Congratulations!

  • Aww..so sweet

  • Beautiful :) And you made it look easy!

  • I hate our society because most of the people could never understand the beauty of this...

They'll find it gross or they connect it directly in a sexual way...

That's so stupid and kinda sick... Why are people judging the most natural things in the world so bad?!?

    :(

  • @SpeedMjam maybe I am being naive, but almost of the comments here are positive. If they are negative or spammy I delete them. You have to just know everyone has an opinion in life and if their views dont fit yours, its okay just dont let them into your life and dont let it affect you. I could care less what people think if they don't think this is the right way to have a birth. It was right for me and my family and you can do it too.

  • @SpeedMjam you are so very right people don't understand that a beatiful miracle just entered the world and that makes me so angry

  • @Maynardsfuzzypeach Yeah, angry and sad...

  • AWWW

such a beautiful home birth and such a cute baby!

  • @abbys2000 Thank You

  • That was a really beautiful birth. I love how gentle and hands off your midwife was. Congrats on your sweet baby girl!!!

  • @DuchessMKM Yep she was great. We are now good friends.

  • such an inspirational video. god bless u and ur wonderful family

  • @heartlessone09 Thanks

  • was that normal for her to cough after she came out? did the chord around her neck do anything bad for her?

  • @babigirl911 She was fine. Cords are wrapped around babies necks all the time. The coughing was probably because she had some pressure on her neck from the cord, but that was her way of clearing her throat and starting to breath. All was good.

  • what is a mid wife ? are you polygimous ?

  • @kiarakimball A midwife is a person who is medically licensed to help women give birth. I did not go to a medical doctor or obstetrician during my pregnancy. I did all of my prenatal care with my midwife. She has all the education to monitor a women through the pregnancy, birth and after care just like a doctor would, but does it at home. A midwife has nothing to do with sexual orientation or polygamy. We are a normal family of 4 ( Husband, Wife, and 2 kids)!

  • is the bleeding normal ...??

  • @bobaxranger Yes it is normal. If you think about it a woman has a period every month. All the blood that is in your uterus supporting the placenta is what comes out when the baby is born. Blood is a big part of the afterbirth, and there is no way to avoid it. There is nothing scary or creepy about it. Blood happens!!

  • She's Cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuute!

  • Did you do hypnobabies or a different technique for your labor?? I ask because your so calm and I am just learning about it. Your amazing! i hope my next is just like this :) Thanks for posting!

  • @toonamifan No I have never heard of hypnobabies. I did follow the Bradley method of natural childbirth for my first birth and took classes which taught relaxation and visualization techniques. I did scream he head off in that first birth, however I vowed I would make this a much calmer birth and just knowing what to expect pain wise made it much easier for me to focus. Also, being in the water was so much less pain and a warm calmer environment in itself helped as well

  • This video has made me decide this is what I want with mine and my love's child. I get too anxious in hospitals. And the idea that my love can actually be there with me and hold me is a comforting idea.

  • @RoxieSucacin good for you.

  • *clap* *clap* great job

  • @MsFigle Thanks.

  • The best video for waterbirth. Clear, precise, to the point. Very educational. Clear and clean shot. Congratulations to have a nice healthy baby.

  • I somehow got here through a stream of videos :) But the baby's adorable :3 By the way, I heard that song somewhere. Could you mind telling me the name and possibly the artist, please?

  • @FallenAngelPatch I just used the music on my macbook in the video editor. I really dont know who the artist or the name. sorry

  • @HelenLAvery It's fine ^ ^

  • i know that this may be a very akward thing to say, but i want to go into the midwifery profession. and i wanted to see how the water birth was done so i looked it up and your was one of the very first i saw!. congrats on the new baby girl. shes beautiful... (:

  • @Mrsbasenjiwolf Thanks and good luck it will be a great profession for you. If you click on the link under my video it will take you to my midwifes website. Check it out.

  • omg at 3:38 the little *Coughs* almost maked me cry, god how Cute!

  • bello esto!!! es lo mas lindo d una mujer!!

  • Walking hurts for a while after birth. But, not unbearable. Most women stop bleeding 2-6 weeks after natural birth. I stopped after 4 weeks..

  • Oh my god, all the blood afterward terrified me. Can you walk comfortably after giving birth? How long does it take that to heal?

  • @OstracizedEmu The blood is from the placenta. It is what is in your uterus that the baby is attached to. Its like your having one big period all at once. It's not from a cut or anything like that. After this birth walking really wasn't so bad. It was worse for me after my first. Your body does stretch out so yes is is a bit uncomfortable but it is different for everyone.

  • Omg ur amazing that was a true miricle good on u all

  • I have a question: Just one: When in the birth tub is the water cold or warm? Im thinking warm. But Im unsure! Beautiful Chelsea! Beautiful birth! I want home birth too!

  • @terXterXterezka1997 the water is between 97-99 degrees. It is the same as your body temperature. The goal is to keep the water at the same temperature for the baby so it is not a shock to the system when they are born. I was nice and comfortable in it.

  • Oh that didn't seem too bad!

  • @lovepoison102 I was lucky it wasn't too bad. she was small so it was an easy one push and out she came.

  • Beautifyl :) She is absolutely gorgeous! Congratulations! Quick question, how long did it take you to give birth to Chelsea in water birth? and is it easyer either having home and water birth or normal hospital?

  • @AnimeStarSinger134 I labored for a total of 7 hours or so. I got into the water when my contractions were at 2-3 minutes a piece and they were lasting about a minute. Once I got into the water things moved really fast. I had 3 total contractions and I felt the need to push on the 3rd contraction. My midwife checked my dilation and I was at 10 cm so I pushed her out in one contraction. I was in the water maybe 15 minutes before she came.

  • Perfectly beautiful mam!!! Its simple amazing that we can bring such wonderful things into this world. I am considering a water-birth when I have children. You were a troooper!! I cried a little =) And I want to give your husband a big round of applause for being IN the tub with you, holding you from behind... I think that is just amazing!!!! Great job guys, hope ur little one is healthy and happy!! ♥ Live Laugh Love ♥

  • Awwwww :D your bump was so cute, I iss mine now..... Home births are awesome even if they aren't planned like mine.. Baby was too cute <3

  • Your a rockstar!!! You are sooo pretty! What a beautiful family!

  • That was one of the most beautiful moments I've ever seen <3 I'm 17 and am planning on going to college to be a mid wife. i'm so happy when parents decide to do natural home births :) You've got one beautiful baby :)

  • @NemoToTheResQ thanks and good luck to you it will be so rewarding for you

  • good job

  • Beautiful video!! So calm and serene....I wish we had the option of home birth around here! (On a side note what editing program do you use?)

  • @sweeethang84 I have an apple macbook. The editing program that comes with the computer is all I used. It is pretty good and really easy.

Why don't you have home birth as an option. You can do whatever you want your in charge not doctors. Get a midwife and you can do it. It is not illegal in the US

  • Well done!:D<3

  • My mother had my sister and I at home and then I was a coach for my cousin's water birth. It is the most beautiful and amazing thing you will ever see in your life. I just turned 30 and hopefully one day I'll have my own child born at home.

Glad all is well with your beautiful family, congrats.

  • @lwoolzy I am sure you will.

  • congratulations you did wonderful however I was missing a bit quicker handing in a warm towel to cover the baby, and they should have suctioned the babys airways right away, hope she is well and you have recovered wonderfully

  • @KathleenMeyers63 Actually suctioning is not needed unless merconium is present. It's just that the medical profession just does it so regularly now. I discussed this with my midwife and a lot of these decisions are made ahead of time. Part of me doing a home birth was not to introduce my baby to unnatural things like a big suction tube up her nose unless necessary. Their little bodies can do amazing things just on instinct alone. Everything worked out fine without it.

  • my cousins 17 and shes having a baby i want one but not wile im a teen.. is it true if your skinny and have a baby you will die?? im scared to have one cuz i cant gain any weight?? and how bad does it hurt everyone tells me it hurts like hell.. and good luck with your baby =)

  • @danielle94shift How old are you?? I'm not sure what you are talking about by being skinny?? It sounds like you might be a bit young for this, but if you are interested in educating yourself about childbirth it might be best to talk to your parents about it. And yes you should wait until you are older and realistically married before having children. They are a lot of work and a serious responsibility.

  • @HelenLAvery im 18 and my cousin said if your skinny you can die having a baby i wanted to kno if that was true or not because im skinny and i dont want to take that risk

  • @danielle94shift Well that is crazy. No you won't die if you are skinny. Unless you have some terrible health condition that would cause problems I think you will be okay. Being skinny doesn't matter. In fact if you are heavy or overweight you will be more likely to have problems with a pregnancy than someone who is skinny. I'm sure you will be fine!!

  • @danielle94shift if you are skinny the baby wont be okay it will have problems and it may die...so start eating and get fater!

  • That was so beautiful!! I wish I had gone with a home birth!!

  • @Allieari I'm sure you have a beautiful child no matter how it came into this world. If you can or are planning another look into then.

  • That was so beautiful! I want a home birth in water so bad, but I don't think my insurance would cover it...

  • @Kasumitan Its worth checking into. Call a few midwifes in your area, just do a google search for them and call and ask what kind of insurance they take. Many midwifes can take insurance and are willing to give you an experience for the homebirth that you may not have thought possible. Also, many hospitals now are able to do waterbirths check into it. You might be surprised what you can have.If you really want it keep asking til you find someone that says yes.

  • @Kasumitan Ask ,Ask, Ask!!!! Call a midwife and ask if they take your insurance. Ask if they can help you find someone who does. You would be surprised that it is possible or low to little cost if you work with a midwife. Ask the hospital network that you are in if they have midwife support for birthing? If you want it you can do it!!!!!! Don't give up because of insurance!!!!! I searched long and hard to find someone who could do it for me.

  • she is amazingly beautiful the baby was stunning

  • @kacikelley143 Thanks

  • @kacikelley143 Thanks for the comment

  • does it hurt when you cut the umbilical cord?

  • @tito2694 No, the umbilical cord is attached the the placenta, which is what feeds the baby and provides oxygen inside your uterus. You give birth to the placenta after the baby comes out so neither you or the baby feel any pain when the cord is cut.

  • @tito2694 Nope!! You are not attached to the umbilical cord, and the baby doesn't feel it either. The cord is attached to the placenta which comes out after the baby is born.

  • Wow we! that was beautiful! thank you for sharing!! I want a water birth!

  • @ButterflyWealthTV Then go for it. It was the best choice for me.

  • Wow, thank you, what a beautiful birth! You were amazing, especially how you lifted her up, unwrapped her cord and patted her to breathe! So instinctual. My first son was a waterbirth - I can really relate to your screams as she crowned. How much better is it in the water? My second son was almost a waterbirth but his head was so big i had to get out and have an air birth. No stitches either time, thanks water. Who knows what our third's birth will be like in july? U r an inspiration x

  • @foxblos Yes, Thank you water. I had at least 10 stitches from ripping with my first and of course being in a hospital they didn't use warm wet compresses to help. In the water I had one tiny tear that was debatable whether I would a stitch or not. I went ahead and got it just to be safe. It was amazing. Thanks for your comment

  • I don't know how I happened upon this - I'm only 19 and have no intentions of kids any time soon, but this was beautiful! :)

  • @IndigoDelirium Good luck to you in the future when you do decide to have kids. Just remember you have all the options in the world to make your births what you want.
