  • This is badASS.

  • I am looking to put something like this into my 1996 eclipse and was wondering how much it cost to get that? and where would I look to find good quality ones...not the cheap ass ones..

  • GM-great engineers, crap company.

  • Fake

  • @Carlos12Silva its real

  • cool

  • WHY!? Why did they stop doing this!!?? Its so creative and cool looking, its so sci fi! I love it!.

  • wow looks cool for an 80s car most cars these days have boring analog dashes with digital radio only the prius is all digital

  • if there's one thing that distinguishes an american car from anything else in the last 20-30 years even when you're blindfolded, it'll be that annoying constant bongbongbongbongbongbongbongbongbongbongbongbongbongbongbongbongbongbong every time you stick the key in before you shut the door

  • that right man this is qulity look at the shit today nothing but cheap plastic that looks like the pieces were made from a dollar store

  • That looks AWESOME.. I thought this was the future of dashboards back then but no, instead they went back to boring analog dashboards. It's a pity.

My very first car was a used 1986 Buick Skylark... everything was digital, even the stereo equalizer! It amazed everyone who saw it, and dam I wish I still had it.

  • Looks like something from Halo.

  • that's awesome, I don't know why so many car guys like analog instruments, I am not a car myself, I'm a computer nerd, but man, I love digital dashboards. :) I don't like analog wrist watches either, because you can't tell exactly what time it is...same thing with analog tuning on radios...digital interfaces baby, digital!!! way cooler :)

  • I own an 89 Buick Regal But I dont recall of these digital dashboards being standard in the Regal they opitional with extra money out of your pay but they sure do look amazing I only have the standard wish I could of got one of these put in my regal

  • thay dont make dashes like that any more :P i think push buten starting is a bit to far thou

  • Dive, Dive, Dive. Sorry that ping brings back memories.

  • i didn't like the fuel gauge in this model regal.

  • I understand.. It can be confusing, if is not watched carefully. I had problem with fuel gauge since my buddy explained it to me too :-D

  • I just tried to get outside door handles for one of these cars.$50..ONE SIDE ! I know the car is 20 years old .But door handles costing $50 should be the one thing on the car that last forever.I sold the car for 5 bills. That means the handles would be 1 fifth of what I felt the car was worth.BEAUTIFUL DASH.Sucky-Ass car.Especially when it's time to repair a 10 ounce or so, door handle.Buick is GM.But the Regal is NO Caddilac. If it was??I STILL WOULDN'T WANT TO PAY 50 F'N DOLLARS FOR DOOR HANDLES

  • Try visit junk yards. I think, that Chevy Beretta and Olds Cutlass Supreme has the same.

  • @Dufik1992 Yeah, but as a old car fixer upper-guy,I never buy twenty y.o. parts from a junkyard .Those parts are usually as old & brittle as the part that's broken .Unless of course one gets lucky & finds some obviously new handles on a wreck..Then they want to charge ten bucks .20% for a item that loses like 20% in 6 months off the lot t!!!.Man? they be trippin'

  • @kaadauwgg Lol, the supply is probably all used up. My pop had one of these up until about 2001 and would always bend the crap out of those handles in the winter.

  • @firehawk400 Daaaamn !

  • @firehawk400 - Yup, I had a 93 Beretta that was the same way....

  • @kaadauwgg Ebay, Craigs List, Local salvage yard.

  • @kaadauwgg The door handles on the 88-96 Regal coupe were a very common problem. 88-93 Olds Cutlass Supreme coupe, 88-89 Grand Prix coupe, and 90-94 Lumina coupe handles all interchange with the 88-96 Regal coupe.

  • it is amazing how far in technology usa was with cars what happend?

  • why didn't gm continue with digital dash boards ?

  • @doublearon86 yeah thats what i wanna know, they looked awesome

  • @doublearon86 you why the digital dash was bad if you got in any accident they wouldnt work anymore a couple of people i know got hit in the front end of the car and the digital dash would not work anymore and costed a small fortune to fix so nost people would just junk the car because it was such a pain to guess on how fast your going it was funny my buddy had a chrysler new yorker he had the digital dash it just stoped working and he kept getting tickets for going to fast or to slow lol......

  • Cause everthing else they did SUCKED ! American car companies thought upgrading dashes instead of motors transmissions would compete with foreign car companies .While Amer car comp's. were dangling the bling in our faces.Foreign car comps. were creating vehicles with 100,000/7yr.warranties.(that you usually DON"T have to use)And when these suckers start to fall apart ,they REALLY fall apart.I just tried to get outside door handles for one $50....ONE SIDE

  • IT IS NOT TRUE. I DONT AGREE!

I trust that GM cars are great. I am satisfied with my 1989 Century Estate 3.3, and my buddy is satisfied with this 1988 Regal 2.8 More than 20yrs old cars, which werent well-maintained in the past... They works relatively great.

  • American cars aren't what people make them out to be. I can see mid 90's cavs and sunfires giving GM a bad rep, and the early 2000's were not good years when it came to interior aesthetic quality. But GM is known for having the best transmissions and engines in the world. The Buick V6 was on wards top ten motors of the century and is still produced 50 some years later to this day. Hydra-matic & Getrag transmissions are so well engineered that makers like BMW have used them in some of their cars.

  • @relaxitsonlyagame - Thank you for your comment. I agree. I can see, you know what are u talking about! Pleased to read your comments. J.D.

  • @relaxitsonlyagame: "American cars aren't what people make them out to be."

    Exactly.

  • @relaxitsonlyagame very true mate !!! greets from germany.

  • People who don't know real cars buy econo appliance cars like Toyota's and think that they never break. But my family and I have owned them all and the Jap cars are just as expensive in the long run when you factor in repairs due to lack of maintainence caused by illogical thinking that a Japanese machine will 'never' break down. They're well engineered, but American cars were too and are especially well engineered now.

  • @doublearon86 because as soon as sun light shines directly on them you cant see anything

  • @doublearon86 Because they look tacky, are distractive when driving and are a bitch to fix should something go wrong. Analogue gauges are still the best.

  • I disagree; the electronic instrumentation is more "state of the art." It's easier to read, plus it usually includes a "fuel computer" to help give fuel economy info, fuel range, and other items. I wish my 2004 Ford Crown Victoria had the electronic instrumentation.

  • looks cool, I like digital dashes.

  • When the ET's try to abduct you from your car, they become mesmerized by the car's instrumentation package...... giving you a chance to make a run for it.

  • Nice dash dude that looks great. I wish my SSEI had a digital dash like that.

  • reving the engine before tunring it off, that's real smart. where you learn that, ghetto 101

  • cool

  • Now that is a cool digital dash first one to match the Taurus and other few in coolness!

  • My gmas old buick skylark had a digi dash that shit was nice dude i think it was a 1990 model idk ?

  • "KITT i need you pal"

  • I owned myself the '89 Limited Coupe in Austria and i love it! The dash is indeed awesome, always reminds me of the gadgets in Back to the Future..

  • man that is a nice dash cluster. i wish new cars were set up like that

  • I have a 1989 mine sounds the same way when you turn it on it has such a great sound when you step on the cluch

  • Oh my good are amazing it's like a game nice video show more of it thanks

  • Those dashboards were so ahead of their time. We need to have LCD dash boards now, where you can "design your own gauges"---like an iPhone screen.

  • re:

    mastermann (4 days ago)

First We need "design your own body-style" so we can desing good looking cars, not plastic bags looking nowdays "Gars"

If new car is good looking, you CANT get in in Finland. Thx to ultra-high cartaxes.

New 10 000$ car costs in here Finland

60 000$. So, must drive old car :)

    - I dont want pay nonsense cartaxes

  • that is very good

  • that is the sickest digital dash ever!

  • I love digital "anything" of the 80s. The digital numbers just look SO MUCH COOLER in the 80s then they do today.

  • You´re so fucking right, bro.

  • I prefere the digitals dashboards; looks like a plane!!

  • i like it, i wana put something like that in my analog crown vic

  • thats madd

  • that is very hot

  • amazing! I had one of these a few years ago, best car ever! I hope to get another 88 sometime soon :)

  • AWESOME!!!!! My lebaron has that too!!! Or I should say "HAD"... cuz... well, now, it's just black plastic boxes.... sigh.

  • sadly my 90 limited coupe didn't have the full digital dash only the speedo was digital. ran that car over with a truck and it still started up, gotta love the 3800.

  • My 92 Custom Coupe had that as well. And, there was a button right next to the radio that you could switch the speedo to metric.

  • Brings back memories of my 91 Limited 3.1L 4dr the only year they offered it in 4 door and last year they offered it at all, loved the numerical tachometer, rust was the ONLY reason the car had to come off the road

  • tell me again why I got rid of my trusty 1990 Regal Limited coupe. *sigh*

  • I'm so glad that someone out there loves digital dashes as much as me! and this is one of my favorites..besides the Buick Reatta from 1988 and my 1991 Chevy Blazer and one more for the record..the 1988/89 oldsmoblie cutlass supreme!!

  • Amazing! I love the 88 Buick Regal and to me the digital dash is the only way to go. I really don`t know why most people thrash digital instruments. Surely, with today`s quality standards and technological improvements reliability and visibility issues would be vastly improved if not totally eliminated.

  • Awesome!!! love it!!! I love Regal!

  • OH! WTF? Its my Regal!!! :)

    Hi Duffman

  • Sweet just like the full analog dash, but digital. You may be able to see it all the time in sunlight, but it makes up for it at night.
