my friend's nook broke a day later.... it seems that there nooks have a serious problem, if you take it from your home outside in a backpack or something , and it's winder out.... the temperature difference will break the nook completely.
do not buy a nook if you do not have access to a warranty service.

I saw one when I went to Barnes & Noble today and I fell in love with it! I like the touch screen on the bottom, because when you're on the internet, it show's the page in color, and also, I like the interface better than the kindle because it just seems better for some reason. I'm trying to get myself to read more. Do you recommend this to help?

Mine doesn't freeze. It never did.. I called for help and I got just what I needed. And no, I'm not attracted to the "pretty colors", I was attracted to the better interface. You can control the system much more with a touch screen than with a D-Pad. Honestly, I could care less if it was a color screen or not.

I'm used to using touch screens more than D-Pads, so it's easier to me in MY opinion, but maybe for you it's easier for you to use a D-Pad. The Kindle also doesn't have a touch responsive screen either. I'm accustomed to touch screens because the place I work at uses iPads, and tablet PC's, and I also own an iPhone and an Android phone, so touch screens are kind of in my everyday life.

@9rockky yah i wouldnt get an ipad anyway its a giant ipod touch if you want something of that nature with a ebook reader look at some Android os tablet pcs they wiil be far more worth it then a ipad iv yet to check out anook color but i suspect thats also a good choice

I saw one when I went to Barnes & Noble today and I fell in love with it! I like the touch screen on the bottom, because when you're on the internet, it show's the page in color, and also, I like the interface better than the kindle because it just seems better for some reason. I'm trying to get myself to read more. Do you recommend this to help?

What about the fact that this piece of shit takes a calendar year to start up, freezes on you unexpectedly, and comes with terrible customer service? It was genius of B&N to include that little color shitbar at the bottom of the device because retards like yourself will immediately gravitate towards anything with pretty colors at the expense of functionality.

@PimpDaddyReverend No, it doesn't, or at least mine doesn't, and yes. The color bar is better than a physical keyboard because there are more possibilities of things to do with it. Mine doesn't freeze. It never did.. I called for help and I got just what I needed. And no, I'm not attracted to the "pretty colors", I was attracted to the better interface. You can control the system much more with a touch screen than with a D-Pad. Honestly, I could care less if it was a color screen or not.

@voyager9600 I own a kindle and guess what, I haven't had to call in at all. It works amazingly. And as for the "touch screen" being better than a directional pad....yeah, perhaps...but the piece of shit nook doesn't have a real touch screen. You can navigate by touching that little color scroll bar but the screen itself isn't touch responsive. So how is that any better than a directional pad?

@PimpDaddyReverend I only had to call in for an order tracking number, not help with the actual product. I'm used to using touch screens more than D-Pads, so it's easier to me in MY opinion, but maybe for you it's easier for you to use a D-Pad. The Kindle also doesn't have a touch responsive screen either. I'm accustomed to touch screens because the place I work at uses iPads, and tablet PC's, and I also own an iPhone and an Android phone, so touch screens are kind of in my everyday life.

So some guy who works with you on the graveyard shift at the FedEx Kinkos brings his iPad to work once in a while and you think you're hot shit? I have an iPhone 4 and an iPad. That little piece of shit scroll bar at the bottom is the same thing as a directional pad...except that it's clunkier and doesn't work as neatly as a simple directional pad. It's so retarded the way you have to move things

I don't care if people don't like what I do, or if people do like what I don't. The touch bar on the Nook isn't "clunkier." Your Kindle's so called "neat and simple" directional pad is. Would you rather have something with little buttons all over the place, or a nice, smooth, flat touch screen that doesn't have anything jutting out?

@voyager9600 Using a touch screen doesn't have jack shit to do with the e-reader experience with either the Kindle or the Nook because NEITHER has an actual touch screen. What you have with your shitty ass nook is a little touch bar that pretends it's a touch screen but just acts like a clunky version of a directional pad.

@PimpDaddyReverend Yes it does have something to do with it. You can do THAT much more with a little touch bar. No, it's not pretending to be a touch screen, it is a touch BAR. Again, I'll tell you that it isn't clunky, a keyboard and a d-pad is. The keyboard would be jutting out of the device, the Nook, no. You can do lots more with the touch bar. I gave my friends a Kindle and a Nook. None of them used either of them before. The ALL figured out the Nook WAY before they figured out the kindle.

@voyager9600 No, it in fact does not have ANYTHING to do with the reading experience. LIke I said, it is CLUNKIER than the directional pad. That little touch bar is slow and poorly responsive and it is counterintuitive to manipulate a large screen with a smaller one. Oh and about giving your friends both devices...bullshit. Are you saying you own both devices just to own them, and then you let your "friends" try them both? What a bunch of horseshit.

@PimpDaddyReverend No, I had the Nook, and my friends Kindle, because I had to give it back to them as I borrowed it to see what I would like better. The Nook, or the Kindle. And yes, they figured out the Nook. It's not clunkier. It's not trying to imitate anything, it is what it is. It's not slow or poorly responsive either. Yes, it does have something to do with the experience because it's easier for people to navigate throughout the device. I think the real horseshit here is your Kindle.
