  • Ravi Shankar is amazing. I remember this concert very well. I still have the album

  • Pandit Ravi Shankar mentions the suffering "women and children" only. I wonder why being such an accomplished musician he decided to use gender-insensitive language. Men were suffering as much as women and children. And I wonder what he means by a "miracle" here. That this concert alone worked as a miracle and dragged Bangaldesh out of all misery and sufferings? Isn't that a bit of an exageration?

  • This was a great gesture of kindness on the part of Ravi Shankar and the other artists who he managed to inspire for this concert. I convey my deep respect to him and the other artists in this month when as a Bangladeshi musician I'm celebrating 40 years of independence. But with due respect I would like to point out that although a few American artists helped raise some money with this concert, at the same time their political leaders actually were against our country's need for independence.

  • To George Harrison, Ravi Shankar, and all those who made their contributions to humanity -- on the 40th anniversary of our independence...salute from Bangladesh!

  • I have loved George Harrison since young but that love grew to new heights when he spearheaded this concert. One could feel his concern for our brothers in need then and still today, his George Harrison Fund for UNICEF continue to help save some lives.

I had this album, The Concert for Bangladesh - Remastered Album Re-issue: 2005, courtesy of a friend from California, USA. This is a prized possession for me.

  • Good God, they are both amazing.

  • thanks ravi shankar and geerge....
