my university class actually got to interview Aduaka. the guy who played the child soldier was a real child soldier. the film is really thought prevoking. i like when the child soldier tells one of the members of the TRC "you were a soldier, if i am guilty of a crime you are" and when he says that he was fighting for his beliefs, and for freedom, that is no crime..........life has many dimensions and this film shows some.
It doesn't make it true. Someone with that low an opinion of profanities simply doesn't appreciate their versatility, nor their unique place in linguistics as far as their taboo status. Or maybe I just resent his holier-than-thou attitude because he feels some moral obligation to abstain from profanities himself, thereby judging anyone else who does use them. Maybe I just need to watch the entire film.

This guy is African American. Just like Bill Cosby. He also has facial hair; just like some actors do for movie roles. (I am aware that actors sometimes grow their facial hair out even when they are out of work. This is a paradox that I am grappeling with withing my philosophy.)

Too bad the guy was so damn nervous :) I'm sure he has a lot of valuable stories to tell.

Agreed. but this is a kind of person who would rather do than talk. :-)

@lebasson YEA. hes got to get out of the shell. as a film maker he should be prepared to interact with people. but his work is brilliant other wise.

Relax. No one cares. Besides, it's up to you to exemplify what is positive.

Also, self-flagellation never solved anything. You just keep hurting yourself. Lighten up.

Isn't this more about awareness than negativity/blame?

I love that!

wow... I can honestly say...thank you for that perspective.
I'm pretty sure (of the hundreds I've read) this is my favorite comment response on youtube.
Particularly because you said "maybe I just need to watch the entire film" at the end.
You're awesome
