I have an iconic memory of standing at the dining table, looking back into the loungeroom watching this ad, in the 80s when I was in primary school! I never forgot this ad & have unabashedly annoyed people by singing the jingle over the years.. & now I'll get the lyrics right! Muhaha. Thank you so much for uploading a precious memory!
im turning 36 on monday...cant believe i found this- so many memories of this ad growing up.used to saviour flake...until i discovered beer. ha! thanks!
The lack of a bar code on the wrapper really shows how behind the times Australia was. The US have used bar codes on just about everything since the early 1970s. They didn't arrive in Australia until the late 80s, believe it or not.
I'm SO GLAD I found it! This is my favourite 80's ad! My second favourite would have to be "Pioneer, what jelly dreams are made of" !! "If I had a jelly car, I'd like to drive it very far" ! lol
I'm researching British Adverts at the moment. If anyone has any unusual or rare footage of Ads from the 50s 60s 70s. It's hard to find them, does anyone know of any that aren't on youtube?
I've been looking for this! I don't just remember the song, I remember the harmonising at the end. It was a sad day when Flake changed their font, even though the current one probably suits it better. And I hate the sealed foil wrapper now, even though bits of chocolate used to fall out of the rolled plastic one. (Do I maybe care too much...?)
I don't remember the song but the second I saw it I knew it was the one I LOVED!! When I was allowed to have a chocolate at the shops, I'd eat it as soon as we left the check out and try to eat it like her, but I'd always spill it or it wouldn't all be in one piece..lol
One of my favourite ads along with imperial leather's "Simon, Tahiti". I was little when it this flake ad first came out and I always used to sit right up close to the tv to see if i could see more of her face under the hat. She was so intriguing!

Nice add. But in reality Flakes are hard to eat and she should have bits of flake down the front of her frock.

Wow! FOUND IT! I never realised that the font on Flake was so 70s! Or did it change over the years!?!
Tanru2000 2 years ago
Those two would've made a packet of money being in an ad that ran for so long. Maybe I should try it, hmmm.

I suppose Cadbury's other products are crap because according to the ad, it's somewhat special. What a crappy ad.
BionicSoldier 4 years ago
Yes timeless advert, but I must ask who eats their Flake like that?
7J6P5U2 4 years ago
That has to be the most annoying way of eating a Flake. I should cram the bar down her throat. LOL

I love this AD, thanks!!!
The song is in my head now!!!
