Never watched and heard a better live guitar player than SRV. Magic to the point of hypnotic he was, God bless him. And stop bringing up Hendrix’s name on every SRV video; it’s irrelevant and boring
@Jesrama1 I agree!! Everyone talks about Hendrix. Stevie is a FAR more talented guitarist. I think everyone respects Hendrix because he was so original for his time. Stevie is original AND more talented. Not to mention the music is just...better!!
best two guitarists ever, second is stevie ray vaughn and first is jimi hendrix. they both have they same style, and srv is the closest to hendrix's sound. he does the best covers of hendrix too, but jimi is always got a sound you can never copy, but srv is so close
@DerickLazell your funny! thats a great joke, why does he suck if he is the best guitarist ever, while stevie is second. number one jimi does everything himself, he is the only guitarist. stevie is a rythm guitarist
My roommate from college took me home with her to Irving, Texas one weekend for a Jam session at some guys house for some of the home boys in 1976. It was amazing. So sad such a warm and spiritual talent is lost to us for now.
All vanilla baby. Trailer park to the heart and loven it. H e was the best and they all know it! He was too white for the music. He never got his props. But you could hear them say. Maaaannnnn he just took us to school.
OH LORD!... help those poor lost souls that disliked this amazing piece of ass kickin' blues, and forgive them for closing their hearts to the world class performance of Mr. Vaughan (may his soul rest in peace)... oh and by the way, don't be hard with them when they finally reach your glorious presence... they suffered of a lack of inspiration in life, or were abused children or something... for those graces to Your Holy Name we pray... AMEN.
I love this song so much. I love SRV. My bro got me hooked... probably the only girl who's loved him since she was 2 yrs old. My bro and I listen to him so much... since the beginning, he's been singing me "Look at little sister" and telling me that I was his "Pride and joy," and that I was and always will be his "little wing". I love my bro and we both love SRV.
Man.. could these guys play those guitars! and those drums..wow! If these guys had ever played here on a satuday night, I would NEVER had a boring night!!
i wish we had this to dance too at these school dances...sadly i and many other unfortunate souls got paired with lady gaga and her band of SHit artists
@B2EGuitarRWiZ actually drummers, guitarists and generally musicians playing for maistream music are very good ( technically ).,. for example beyonce's drummer is a good one :P the thing is that these guys didnt find a decent band to play with and they joined stupid mainstream bands :P
Respond to this video... the only one that can make me feel like stevie did is johnny lang. we miss you stevie! they say there is a god, so where was he that night in alpine valley?
@B2EGuitarRWiZ Really? Why does everyone bash lady gaga or make her name synonymous with Justin Beiber or that other crap. Tell you what. Go to the Search bar and type in "Jeff Beck covers Bad Romance by Lady Gaga" and THEN tell me she's not at least somewhat talented.
Chris Layton always looks so calm, cool, relaxed, and effortless as he's playing those drums, like he's sitting in his bedroom mindlessly pounding away for his own enjoyment.

@burritoboy817 Hate the man, don't try to knock his guitar ability. The kid can flat out play blues music. You can tell he's influenced by him, his strat used to be the Signature SRV strat. SRV's his idol.
Guitarists for years have been trading licks and songs... Mayer is no different. Hendrix, Clatpon, B.B. King, etc all. No one will ever replace Stevie, but people will be playing his stuff for generations.
Tough to say Mayer sucks when you base it on nothing. Look up "Mayer talking Vaughan"
@DanielSCobb2 When new guitarists read these kind of arguments it makes learning somewhat vague. Your right, trading licks between any musician has gone on for hundreds of years. The ones that come out on top understand what they do best and give it thier all.
@burritoboy817 actually john mayer can play a lot better than people can give him credit for and when he does a blues cover he does it justice with his great voice and good guitar skill
@jwp18871 BULLSHIT John Meyer does NOT have a good voice for blues, its faggish and pop musicish. NOT FOR BLUES<, B B King has a blues voice, SRV had a blues voice, Eric Clapton, Albert King, T Bone Walker, THEY had blues voices, John Meyer IS A SELL OUT AND A FAKE when it comes to blues,
@crazycuntryboy2 ok with a name like crazycuntryboy you have no room to be talking of the blues my friend SRV is my favorite guitarist ever and id say he'd be happy to play alongside john mayer. even eric clapton has played with john mayer on several occasions look it up dont knock i good artist without really listening to him watch his crossroads video or something man if you truely love music then dont close your mind up about it
I was fortunate enough to see Stevie Ray live in Concert. His brother Jimmy said it the best one time, "Stevie didn't plug his guitar into an amplifier, he plugged it into his soul!" Rest in Peace Mr. Vaughn, you were the best guitar player there ever was.
just a lil heads up,the other lead guy is Charlie Copeland. Another blues great from the old days. I've even got a CD of SRV on the BBC with Albert King, live. Stevie really admired him & his style. I've always thought this... Obviously, his guitar playing is phenominal. The argument could be made that he's the best player there ever was. But he doesn't get the credit he deserves as a singer. He was bad ass!
Stevie had such an awesome voice and nobody really ever seems to comment on it cause they are always blown away by his guitar playing! I wish I had his pipes and was 1/4 the guitar player he was... I'd still be awesome!!
I don't want to dis stevie but god he was just like hendrix. Which is awesome :D A nac for the blues, amazing playing, and perfiable instruments were strats :D

Great song. I love Stevie's guitar playing obviously, but I have always loved how good of a singer. His voice was justy as searing as his guitar
